Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.I, modified into Mk.II P8088 “Borough of Lambeth”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Decals are from Airfix. Brush painted and weathered with a pencil.
Despite being an older kit (first tooled up in 1993!), it holds up extremely well! Good detail and part fits with minimal gaps. Honestly my best work so far, also managed to make the door interchangeable between the “closed” and “open” position.
Score: 10/10, would recommend

Paula Collett
Basis: GWR 4900 No.4953 “Pitchford Hall”
Bio: Built in 1929, Paula worked on the western region for the majority of her life. After her withdrawal, she stayed in Woodham Bros. Scrapyard in Barry Island, until she was rescued by the NESC in the 70s. She has been a mainstay on the operation roster ever since, seeing many mainline operations and heritage railway visits.
“Auntie Paula” (as she’s often called in current day) is perhaps the sweetest engine you can ever meet, she’s polite, caring, and always wears a warm smile on her face. Paula’s very close to Jami and Jordy, like a loving mother with her two children.
She’s also very intimate with a certain Hudswell Clarke tank engine from Somersby, Barrow

Betty Baldwin
Basis: freelance Baldwin-built 4-6-0 (with a lot of elements from Ma & Pa No.27/28)
Bio: Built in 1917 as one of five custom orders for the ROD. Betty worked hospital trains behind the frontlines, never seeing much action. After the war, she and her sister, 329, bounced around between railways in England until Betty settled on the Southern Railway. When she was withdrawn in the 50s, she was tucked away in a goods shed of Nine Elms depot, where a certain preservation group discovered the Baldwin in the 60s.
Betty is a timid lass, who often got very nervous with strangers. She was also easily scared. However, once you get to know Betty, you'll see that she's a happy and precious lil bean. She has since grown out of that scaredy shell of hers quite a bit, but her nature does tend to slip back
Everyone is fond of Betty, and so does she to everyone. She is partricular close to Joseph, whom she first met during the Great War in France

Tumblr has been created wooo, so imma just start posting my OCs
Joseph Churchward
Basis: GWR 4300 No.5319
Bio: Built in 1917 for the GWR, Joseph (along with several of his siblings) was sent over to France as part of the Railway Operating Division. There he met Alastair, his best buddy, and Betty, an engine he fancies. Joseph worked in the Western Region all the way until his withdrawal in 1959, when he was purchased by the ORS
Joseph has a tendency to be a bit cheeky at times, but is strong-willed, and it takes a lot to break him. He is quick-witted and takes action swiftly without hesitation. He’s always ready to stand up for the smaller guys (especially Betty), and is willing to set aside his own safety for the sake of others.
He does sometimes have a bit of a short temper, but he is also smart enough to listen to the advice of the older, more experienced engines. He can also be seen as a big brother to smaller and younger engines like Jordy and Jami
