Warecat

                The second species to look the most human are the warecats. However, unlike gangrels they will never gain any animal traits. This species are a tall race averaging between 5’9” to 6’7”. They are also very tan from generations of living in the desert. Their hair comes in various colors from blonde to a fiery red. Like demons, warecats eyes make them stand out. Their eyes come in green and blue as their pupils are swirled counter-clockwise. Warecats are also some of the fastest runners around most likely developed from danger since the beginning of time.

                One thing that makes them different from all of the other races is that they are natural born warders. There are four stages to their ability. At the first level they can’t ward off much magic, but have some defense to it regardless of the element. At the second level their warding ability has grown a bit as it doubles. By the third level they can ward even powerful magic and can even sometimes break magical seals or magical wards. Rarely does a warecat reach the fourth level which they gain a special ability that has something to do with their warder ability. The only magic that affects them every time is old words magic, or better known as the magic the dragons and gods wield.

Gangrel

                The spiritual species in Cio, gangrels are born looking the most human. They are usually born with a light tan color to their skin, have brown or green eye color, and their hair comes in many color between brown and black. Gangrels tend to stand from 5’5” up to 6’. Physically they are about average, though with training they can become stronger. Magically a gangrel can only learn spells with the element they are born with. When they are born they are born with the ability to use elemental spirits rather than just calling on an element like saigers and demons. However, even with this great power it takes them many years to be able to fully control their magic. They are also very close to the spiritual world. As such they tend to sense spirits or ghosts. They can also sense elemental dragons, but unless they are of the psychic element the gangrel still only has a blurred sense that one is around and has a harder time understanding one. When a gangrel has lived a long, but good life they will pass on into the next life as an elemental spirit. It’s not certain how long they will stay in this state until finally passing on for good.

                One special thing about gangrels aside from them being so close to nature is that their body will change with the passage of time. Sometimes a gangrel is either born completely human or on a rare occasion they are born with one animal trait. These animal traits can be as simple as growing fur, or growing tusks. These traits sometimes change a gangrel completely depending on the trait. However, these traits are always physical and never only something mental. As example if a gangrel gained the trait of a dogs nose they would gain an over powering sense of smell, but they cannot gain a bird’s sharp mind. Normally these traits are gained every twenty years of life. However, they can gain a trait if something gravely traumatic happens to them. Also the same animal traits tend to run throughout one family.

Demon

                Like saigers, demons come in many different heights. They have pale gray-blue skin and only four fingers on each hand. The hair color a demon can be born with comes in many different colors—even ones that almost seems impossible. Their most noticeable trait is their eyes. Like their hair, their eyes also come in an array of colors. What is striking about them however is that what would normally be the colorful iris is black and the pupil is colorful.

                Unlike saigers any demon can learn magic or become a powerful warrior. However, it takes them a good forty to master their choice element. Even if they aren’t born to a shadow element they still feel a great pull towards its magic and can even “drown” in it if misused. Physically it takes a demon twice as long to age as a saiger. This is how demons are able to have such a long lifespan.

Saiger

                Coming in many different sizes, saigers are a species of cat-like people. Their height varies from five foot to as tall as six feet. With their feet they take on a more paw like look as they only have three toes like a paw. Eye color tends to come either in blue, green, hazel, and any light or dark color between them. Hair however tends to go along side with what fur pattern a saiger is born with. Their fur covers their entire body from head to toe. It can grow in thin, or long and thick depending on the saiger. There are countless fur patterns a saiger can have as there are breeds of cat.

                There are two types of saiger. The species was split into two. The name of one side is SaiMu. These saigers hold no magical ability to them. They are the brute strength of the species. These saigers have longer ears for sharper hearing and more paw-like hands. Also they are only able to use magical gems that have spells already placed on them such as communication. However, they cannot break any magic on a gem unless breaking the gem itself. Also SaiMu can only push their great strength so far before they become sick with flu-like symptoms. The other type of saiger is the SaiNu. They are the magical beings of the species. They can learn an array of elemental magic. However, it takes roughly twenty years to fully master one type of magic. Like SaiMu, a SaiNu can only use so much magic before the strain on their minds cause them to go insane. If caught early they can be treated with a special fruit. If not treated they are doomed to insanity and lose all ability to control any of their magic. Their ears around pointed like SaiMu, but are not as long and their hands are more human. There are some things that both sides of the species share such as their eyesight. It is sharp; however it is based on movement. If something stays completely still while hiding, a saiger could miss and not see it. Their hearing is also keen.
