look, i agree that wilmon both fell equally hard for each other but i'm a sucker for "he fell first and fell harder" bcs it's cute. so i always pretend wille fell harder 😭 plus !! there's also something about the way he ALWAYS looks at simon. like his eyes are always searching for him and seeking his attention.

idk but my stomach is always doing that funny thing whenever i think about wille's dilemma being about his role and status and not his feelings for simon. like there was no doubt at all that he was serious serious about him. i think that's why their intimate scenes feel so authentic because there's no question in every move. they move in sync and just melt into each other's arms.

"wilhelm shouldn't have abdicated for simon" can we please go back to the days where people watch tv with their eyes open? the way it was explicitly stated by wilhelm himself that he didnt give up the crown for simon. it was a FACT that he did it for HIMSELF because he doesnt want to be the crown prince or king from the start. where do you think all these issues came from? I understand that people can be disappointed with the ending but completely missing the point of wille's dilemma is giving selective comprehension. literally the reason why he went to that club that got him sent to hillerska was because he wants to be normal and be around "normal" people. he felt conflicted about his role because he feels like he has to do it for the sake of being born in the royal family.

simon wasnt the reason why he gave up the crown. id like to think he is the catalyst in wille's life, and discovering erik's past was his last straw to finally leave and choose his path.

unpopular opinion but i kinda like how wilmon's relationship progressed to worse from s1 to s3 bcs i felt like it was kinda bound to happen(?) simply because of wilhelm's status if yall know what i mean.

like their communication and connection in s1 is great which shows that they can actually be in a healthy relationship. yeah, it was bit rocky at first but it's understandable and they STILL communicate. the shower scene after the sex tape was posted solidified that for me.

s2 and s3 were both all over the place. they had some conversations here and there and talked about their differences but it's obvious that the constant fights mirror their current state of mind, especially wilhelm. it just shows that yeah, they could be in a healthy relationship (s1) but the situation is fucked up (s2) so how about we figure out what do we really want (s3)

also, i didnt think that the break up was unnecessary bcs i felt like it was needed and was kind of expected at the end of s2 when wilhelm came out. one of the main points of the show was that wilhelm's issue isnt about liking a guy, it's about being part of the royalty. august actually got a point (ughh) when he said that he had issues before he (or even simon) got involved bcs wilhelm's issues lie within the royal family and finding himself. wilmon's relationship progressing to worse is bound to happen. it's not the lack of communication. i mean,, yeah there's that, but i feel like even if they did communicate the break up would still happen. simon had to step up for them to take a step back. his decision is not cruel. he did it for them and wilhelm UNDERSTOOD that.

i just want to share the edit that got me into young royals and made me fall in love with wilmon even before i knew about their journey. i vividly remember how their chemistry immediately drew me during the first few minutes into the video and made me very curious about the show,,, like i was literally locked in. i also thought they were not the main couple of the show bcs that usually happens whenever i watch random ship edits on youtube. but im so thankful for this edit it got me into young royals which made me feel all different kinds of feeling and emotions again before 2024 ended.

The most realistic thing in Young Royals is the ending. I fully believe that someone would give up the throne of Sweden and leave it in the hands of a toxic fool just to be able to stare into Omar Rudberg’s eyes.

okay so,, ive always thought that the revelation about erik’s past was unnecessary and out of place bcs it was brought up at a random moment. however, after rewatching the show (for the 3rd time in 2 weeks mind you lmao) i think it was necessary for wilhelm to come into terms that even his brother, his role model, did some fucked up things too, and that he doesnt have to live up with his perfect shadows anymore. i think aside from august being in the line of succession, wille’s one last drive to not give up the crown easily was because he wants to be a deserving back up for erik (referencing to the speech he made in s1 ep 4). it became easier for him to abdicate bcs he came with a full acceptance—thout being impulsive but just honest—that he’s not happy with his status, and that maybe his brother, his role model, wasn’t too.

i think the thing that really got me invested in young royals (aside from edmar’s chemistry ofc) and the reason why i cant just stop talking about it was how intriguing and complex it is. i love how the creators didnt try to convince the audience that wilhelm and simon are perfect characters. both of them have made interesting points through out the show and i LOOOOOVE that it makes me go like “yeah i agree, but also” bcs at the end of the day, theyre just teenagers caught in an unfortunate situatuon.

happy new year everyone! i just wanna say that im glad that i discovered young royals before 2024 ended bcs i felt everything watching it and i loved every bit of it. see you all in 2025.

i kinda regret not watching young royals when i saw it trending in 2022 bcs i felt like i wasnt ready for a western queer show (since i mostly watch japanese and korean bls and some bl animes) now it’s over and theres no anymore season to look forward to but id like to think that i discover wilmon at the right time

the theme of young royals (i think it's called harmony theme) reminds me SO MUCH of stranger things theme istg. like i literally love the sound of synths in these two themes and the fact that both are my favorite Netflix shows makes it so much better.

something i noticed about eriksson siblings is that they are ALWAYS honest and frank. they were never afraid of speaking whats on their mind (maybe thats why some people in the young royals fandom find simon annoying bcs hes very VERY vocal about his thoughts). i love the scenes where they put other people in their place and remind them of their privilege as part of the upper class (i.e wilhelm and august)
