sorry that i've been away for quite a while, may and june are kind of rough months for me, but i think i'm feeling a lot better now and i'm ready to try and slowly get back into writing hopefully. i'm still a little on the tired side and work is in busy season rn on top of family visiting from away for an undetermined amount of time, but here's to hoping i can make time here and there to do some RPing here and there when i get my down time

"Oh... I see." Ambrose nods his head lightly, in an understanding way. "I think most of us had that happen at least once, I mean... I'm also not in the same housing as before... I wonder if it would have been easier if I'd gotten a home of my own somewhere."

As much as he hates those changes, Ambrose has mostly adjusted to his new housing by now, but for Titus it seems this is a newer development. "I was concerned. When I didn't see you around for a while, I mean, so. I'm at least glad you're okay other then that. Um. I guess my next question is... h-have you eaten yet?"

Titus hugs onto him for longer than most people would consider a normal amount of time-- and even when he pulls back, he keeps his hands on Ambrose's shoulders, like he's reluctant to sever contact just yet.

"Yeah, I'm alright I guess," Titus huffs, frustration breaking through his joy ever so slightly. "I was gone for a bit and now I'm back, but some of my friends ain't here anymore. And I got moved to a new place. Seein' you was like a breath of fresh air."

Ambrose definitely has a visibly flustered look on his face; he's not so used to sharing his rough drafts, and he's sure it could all use improvement... but someone enjoying it is encouraging! He's on the right path as far as story goes, right? Though he ducks his head and half hides his face behind a hand, he's still smiling.

"I think it's actually lacking in any plot twists right now, but I'm going to add more detail as the story gets more fleshed out... you know? It helps, to have your feedback though so... th-thank you!"

"Yeah? A little rest doesn't hurt." Once seated, they grin pretty big when Ambrose whips out the few chapters. "Oh, hell yeah! I'm the real curious sort, so this is cool!" They can appreciate being surprised like everyone else when reading a book!

"Putting plottwists here and there is always pretty exciting." Intense battles, wholesome content? They were all reasons to read a book!

"Oooooh, yeah! So far I really like it." They nod as they flip through the pages. "You got a number 1 fan right here, Ambrose!"

“Ah, hello again… long time no see, Titus.”

At least that’s how it felt to him! But he gives Titus a gentle squeeze in return, keeping his arms wrapped about him. “I, um. Well. Have you been well? Is everything okay? Anything… new happen recently that was interesting?” Maybe it’s a lot to ask all at once, but Ambrose just seems to be letting all of his thoughts spill out of his mouth before he takes a deep breath.

Ambrose stifles a lighthearted chuckle; that’s a plight for sure! But he does offer a gentle shoulder pat at first, smile just a bit shy. “You sound like you could really use a break… and I could stand to rest? Here.”

That said, he does then proceed to open his arms to offer a hug!

"GAH!! I NEED TO CUDDLE RIGHT NOW OR I'M GONNA DIE!" dramatic? absolutely, but to a man whose love languages were getting severely neglected lately, it felt like the end of the world. ideally, the ultimate cuddle set-up would be a nest of soft pillows and blankets, but he couldn't be picky. hell, he'd even take a long bear hug. a...firm handshake, even? pat on the back?

“I feel as if I missed something after having slept all day. I think I vaguely remember hearing sirens or something but I ended up falling asleep again somehow.”

Judging from his rather pallid appearance today it probably isn’t that surprising that he spent a lot of time sleeping today actually. Unfortunately, this also means he’s awake again at a time where the world is quieter then usual and he’s probably turned his sleep schedule around entirely. He fidgets at his sleeve, frowning uneasily, restless and anxious. “I wonder if we’re safe…”

Ambrose looks up a bit sheepishly at being so predictable, but he did love immersing himself in a book in a nice quiet library when he could! He still smiles politely as he moves his book back on the table a little to leave Indigo a little more room on their side of the table.

“Oh, hello again. Well, I haven’t written… much,” he admits, leaning his hand on his cheek with a small unsure frown, darting his gaze down to avoid eye contact, “Recently I think I hit a block, so I took a break for a month, which… um, let my hands rest anyway at least. I’m sort of in the process of polishing some stuff in the next few chapters now that February has passed.”

He looks a little unsure, and falls quiet for a while, but then he places a bookmark in his book to reach for his bag and produce a small folder holding about a couple chapters worth.

“I can’t reveal too much but maybe you’d enjoy reading a couple of the more exciting chapters?”

He hopes so despite feeling a little nervous sharing his works openly: only a couple people have seen his writing before, and those people weren’t here so he couldn’t very well ask their opinions anymore. But Indigo seems genuinely interested so that’s a good sign, right?

"Thought I'd find you here," They whispered as they approached the other. The library in the early morning isn't too busy, but Indigo isn't about to shout to the other!

"How's that book comin' along?"

They casually take a seat across from Ambrose and slide the book that was in their hand in front of them. "I came to hear more~."

“Oh. Um, I’m afraid you did, yes. It was strange, like something from a fairytale but more dangerous, but I don’t have much more information then that since I spent most of that time inside?”

Judging from her words, maybe that’s a better answer? He’s not sure, but he does want her to feel better if she’s genuinely upset! He digs through his bag though, and produces a handful of small wrapped candies, the same ones he usually ate around Christmas. “Would… would you like some candy, anyway?”

“It’s March? It’s been… um, a really strange new year so far I think. I’m not sure anything can possibly top the city turning into candy though.”

Knock on wood! He doesn’t wanna jinx it!

it’s been a super hot minute since i posted here bc life came at me fast the last few months but i’m starting to feel better mostly! my allergies are still flooring me today but like mentally i’m not feeling so (static noises) so! hopefully i’ll boost my activity back up but probably gonna drop very old threads for ease of not overwhelming myself

Another birthday, and another year having a brief but solemn celebration by himself— he won’t stay cooped up inside the whole time. But taking a quiet moment to miss his brother’s presence on their birthday helped last year. So maybe it will this year, too.

Just after midnight, he blows out the candles on a small cake that has both their names on it, and has a moment of silence before putting it away again for later.

“It’s hard to believe… another year has already gone by.”

He’s hasty to try and wipe his eyes dry, only just realizing he’s a bit teary. Well, maybe that was to be expected.
