There’s a really weird element going around where people will ignore ‘problematic’ stories so long as they’re about minorities, i.e. vigilante movies are okay IF the lead is black, wealth porn is okay if the wealthy people are Asians, unhealthy (even underage) relationships are okay so long as it’s a gay relationship.
