being in a small fandom is like being given a bone, chewing on it until you're done with it, burying it in your backyard, and then digging that same chewed up bone months later to continue chewing on it, and then the cycle just repeats.

this is especially true for small fandoms that you know won't be getting any new content, so you just have to consume the content you've already consumed thousands of times before.

Me shocked about how I keep meeting people from my country or at least the same general region of the world through fandom and then realizing that duh, it's the timezones.

Indeed I ended up going onto one of my usual discord servers at an ungodly time of night a couple of days ago and discovered there's an entire night shift of Blorbo fans I've never seen or talked to in my life.

Something I kinda realized once I stopped being a lurker is that... writers and artists are literally just fellow fans. Like they deserve respect for their craft and for creating content for the fandom, but they are not necessarily better or cooler than you. Having a fan creator you respect like your post feels very exciting at first (and it really is!) but the more you post the more normal it becomes. And I prefer it like this, because now it feels silly how I put fan creators I liked on a pedestal and being too intimidated to initiate conversation

Fandom Problem #8102:

There's nothing wrong with headcanons with no basis in canon, to answer with "my source is that I MADE IT THE FUCK UP" when people ask you what the canon basis for your headcanon is. (Although headcanons that CONTRADICT canon shouldn't be called headcanons, those are alternate universes. Headcanon is supposed to BUILD ON and fill in the gaps of canon, not throw it out the window.)
