It would be interesting if Jupiter tries to blame X for destroying the proto rocky planets and that’s what leads to X getting ejected. That would explain why he’s so guilty and paranoid about his past coming back to haunt him.

SPOILERS for "The Big Bang - Part 2"

OH MY GODDDDD THE NEW EPISODE!!!! I AM GOING CRAZY OVER IT IT WAS SO GOOD OMFG

I thought the solar system trials were the best arc yet, but THIS? this is PEAK solarballs content i am living the DREAM rn

I was hoping to talk about everything in this episode in detail, but tumblr is a COWARD and won't let me use more than 10 pictures for a single post, so i'll try to be brief

First of all, I HAVE to talk about the earthlings, I adore them and the fact they're getting screentime in a such important arc makes me SO happy

You're telling me that both Astrowife and Junior were waiting for Astrodude to come back from work so that he can continue telling the story?? I LOVE THEM SM ASTROFAMILY FOR THE WIN

also I love Astrodude for ending the story on a cliffhanger, he's like a dungeon master that drops some giant reveal right before ending the session.

He's so proud of himself lmao

We got more of Sun's backstory and oh boy, it explains his current behaviour a LOT. His obsession with orbits, how emotional he can be, how he wants to protect his planets but doesn't know how. Not to mention all the parallels between him and Jupiter in this episode, which deserve their own post. I absolutely loved seeing all of it.

And despite everything, this episode shows how much Sun actually cares about his planets.

"If you're afraid of the dark, just look at me!"

"And... who do you look at when you're afraid?"

"...Don't worry. I'm the Sun!" chuckle "I'll be okay. "

ILOVE THEM SM I CAN'T DO THIS 😭😭😭

We finally got to see all of the younger giants! Neptune and Uranus were pretty cute, but they only appeared for a few seconds in the episode, which might be for the best. if they stayed for longer, it would definitely mess up the pacing.

I liked seeing young Jupiter, Saturn and Planet X interact. 'Young Jupiter was a jerk' believers, we won! >:D

This scene was SO cool omg, Jupiter crossing the belt despite Planet X yelling at him not to, and then all of those asteroids moving because of his gravity?? I LOVED IT

also the little rocky planets getting destroyed was a bit dark?? no wonder Jupiter is traumatized after this

and oh my god these two shots?? All of them looking in shock, and then as the camera zooms in, the asteroids are replaced by planet remains?? that was SUCH a good moment

To summarize, 10/10. Absolutely AMAZING episode, and I can't wait to see what happens next. My guess? Either:

- Jupiter blames the destruction of the rocky planets on X

- Jupiter becomes paranoid about orbits just like the Sun, and when Planet X doesn't stay in orbit, Jupiter and Saturn eject him

- both of the above

Aww yeah they talked about it 😎 I knew they couldn’t have just casually mentioned it for no reason. I knew SolarBalls was cookin something up and they served. It’s interesting too because according to this model if it weren’t for Saturn, Jupiter would have probably wound up orbiting a lot closer to the Sun. And if that happened, Earth would probably not exist or at least not have life. So we may actually have Saturn to thank for our existence 😅

I also love the Jupiter & Sun interactions. Jupiter was his very first planet and friend 🫶Now it makes sense why the Sun was so quick to defend him at the end of the solar system trials, saying how he has always been an “exemplary” planet.

And we see why the Sun is so obsessed with everyone staying in their orbit is because he worries about them. I knew it~

But one thing I didn’t like about this episode is why were Jupiter and Saturn so quick to turn on X? Like calling him “annoying” & “rude” when he did literally nothing?? Idk hopefully that will be expanded on in the finale

It’s funny…just when I was wondering, “When are we gonna see Astrodude again?”

The Astrofamily is so wholesome tho fr 👨‍👩‍👦💕

And we got MORE STARS!!!!!!! Which confirmed that our Sun does, in fact, understand how it feels to face other celestial objects much bigger than himself. (But seriously…it’s honestly insane how big stars can be 😵‍💫 we saw how enormous Arcturus was, and even he is freaking tiny compared to some of the others out there)

And of course…

The Baby 🥹 Only just started existing and immediately traumatized 💔

But the supernova scene??

Can we just appreciate how beautiful it was?

And that awesome, cinematic ending! SolarBalls has really been cooking these past couple weeks 🔥

Towards the end of Search for Planet X part 3, planet x just casually mentions this to Ganymede and Europa. It’s kind of easy to miss, and I haven’t seen anyone bring it up. I didn’t know what the hell he was talking about, so I looked it up and…oh boy. Are we in for some 🔥LORE🔥

SO APPARENTLY it’s referring to the Grand Tack, which is an actual hypothetical scenario meant to explain how the solar system formed and ended up exactly how we see it today. It speculates that in the early days of the Solar system, Jupiter had been moving inward toward the Sun, and along the way because of its massive gravitational influence, probably

- prevented other potential planets from forming

-forced other celestial objects into eccentric orbits AND/OR

-ejected them from the solar system altogether?!

And while nothing I’ve read about this model ever mentions planet x, perhaps SolarBalls is planning to tie it to him?

I’m really curious if they use this model to portray the formation of the solar system. I mean, come on, they wouldn’t just mention it for no reason, right?!
