what in the magic mushrooms is this?
If you're ever worried about whether your writing is too self indulgent, I just want you to remember that Sharknado had 5 sequels. I'm only partway through watching Sharknado 6: It's About Time, but already they've traveled through time and ridden a pteronadon into a Sharknado so they could use the magic teleportation portal inside of it to travel forward in time to King Arthur's time, where they are currently battling a Sharknado full of fire-breathing dragon sharks with Excalibur, which is a chainsaw sword that calls lightning. You're fine. In fact, be a little more self indulgent if anything, because I am having a BLAST watching this specifically because I can see how much fun the writers were having.

just a reminder that it's normal to have "strange" triggers. you can absolutely be triggered by specific smells, sounds, songs, shows, people, characters, etc. it doesn't matter what it is, if your brain feels threatened, hurt, scared, upset, angry, etc. by something then it can be a trigger. fuck the mentality that "odd" triggers are not valid.
especially people who have been through trauma, it's very common for us to be triggered by specific things that remind us of that trauma.

Most mornings, I wake in a frenzied panic. What responsibilities do I have to tend to today? Am I going to be running late to work again?
Today was different, however. There was no panic, no sudden sense of dread.
I only opened my eyes slowly, to see something that would've startled most. A door, in the ceiling. Where I should've felt unease, I felt a peculiar sense of serenity, as if the door had been there since I could remember. Everything about it seemed familiar. From the slightly discoloured paint that was slightly peeling off in the top right corner, to the doorknob- that which looked as if it would fall off said door if so much as a speck of dust settled on its dull surface. This door looked- and smelled- as if it needed love and kindness to return it to its former glory.
Maybe I found solace in this oddity because it reminded me of myself. I am in need of love and kindness, not just from others but from myself. Like this door, I've been neglected for so long that I have become a withered shell of what I once was.
Perhaps that's why I wasn't afraid of the eye watching me through the keyhole, because it was my own.
Deep Water Prompt #2680
I wake in a strange sense of calm, staring at the ceiling. There is a door there, directly above me. Something is watching me through the keyhole.

Deep Water Prompt #2668
The angel working at the coffee shop is the real deal, I’m sure of it. “Can I bring you anything else?” they ask. Everything. Bring me everything.
