In this second round of Motion Graphic Quotes, I chose a theme: the great master of French literature - Hugo. He is my favorite writer, and personally I think his work Toilers of the Sea (translated in Brazil by Machado de Assis), is the most monumental ever written. Among many memorable things I have ever read of Hugo, I chose this quote which has a whole intrinsic duality. For whom could not read in the animation:

"The destination is severe, it's us indulgent. What is black might not be dark." (...)

If you want to suggest some writer / quote, please ask in the comments! The animation was entirely made in Cinema 4D! ---------------------------------- Nessa segunda rodada do Citações Motion Graphic, escolhi por tema o grande mestre da literatura francesa: Victor Hugo. É meu escritor favorito, e pessoalmente acho sua obra Os Trabalhadores do Mar (tradução de Machado de Assis), a mais monumental já escrita. Dentre tantas coisas memoráveis que li de Victor Hugo, preferi essa frase que tem toda uma dualidade intrínseca. Para quem não conseguiu ler de primeira na animação:

"O destino é severo, sejamos nós indulgentes. O que é preto talvez não seja escuro." (...) Se quiserem sugerir algum escritor/citação, escrevam nos comentários!

The DMCI was this years branding partner for the 2010 PromaxBDA ANZ Conference. They produced 2 conference openers and all print and marketing collateral.

ism studios worked in collaboration with the DMCI to produce music and sound design for the 2 openers.

The conference theme was CREATIVE SURVIVAL KIT and our approach was to explore a day in the life of a 'creative'.

This piece revolves around the theme of 'PROCRASTINATION'.

Miniature Melbourne from Nathan Kaso on Vimeo.

A short tilt-shift time-lapse film featuring the city of Melbourne, Australia. This piece is 10 months in the making and features a range of different events and festivals held in the city throughout the year.

Equipment: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 17-40mm f/4L, 24-105mm f/4L and 70-300mm f/4-5.6 USM

The tilt-shift effect and grading was applied in Photoshop, and the film was edited in LRTimelapse, After Effects and Premiere Pro CS6.

Most of the shots were captured from the Eureka Skydeck, which is a lookout at the top of Melbourne's tallest building. Other locations were the Shrine of Remembrance memorial, car parks and bridges around the city.

Church groups from Dursley in Gloucestershire carry a large cross to the top of Cam Peak, a steep hill on the outskirts of the town, to commemorate Good Friday.

Stills were taken with a Canon 5Dii and then manipulated in After Effects.
