valentines day. his first without his wife, sure there had been more technically since he was dead. that lead to a crazed night of drinks and blood. lots and lots of blood. at this point? he didn’t care but he didn’t exactly kill the people either. the hybrid male didn’t even bother wiping the corners of his mouth, looking around and he sighed when he saw someone coming. he really wasn’t in the mood for hearing whatever they had to say.

“tyler...” stefan said as he looked at the male, his friend-were they friends? it didn’t matter. he needed help. that was all that mattered.

Her own passing was the only thing that truly explained things, but it didn’t really matter, did it? Caroline rushed forward and threw her arms around him, embracing him in a hug. ❝How is this possible?❞ It had been nine years and it felt like an eternity had passed since the last time she saw him. It was strange, to say the least, but she was happy to see him. Whether it was real or not.

“Yeah, I saw them too.” He nodded. “Not in the afterlife or anything like that but alive and well.” Damon was a human and Tyler was a hybrid. He smiled as she embraced him, it’d been a long time since he received a hug from his close friend and he’d missed her. “I’m something called a whitelighter.” he exclaimed to her.

“ yeah i’m sure, i may not have been plotting and planning it but i love animals and he is the cutest thing.” lizzie’s attention had been on her puppy, only finally looking up to see stefan and she very lightly gasped, having remembered him from when she was little and the photos of him and caroline. “ stefan.”

“if you really think so then okay.” after all, who was he to judge a stranger? before he could orb away or even walk away she spoke his name much to his confusion. “do i know you?”

“What?” That was his instantaneous response to such an astounding question. “Technically speaking, yes, vampire and all but actually speaking no. No. Not at all.”

“ but how adorable is this puppy? I saw him in the window at the pound and I fell in love. had to adopt him right then and there.” usually lizzie was not impulsive, but the happiness and love she felt from one glance at the animal had her sold.

“are you sure you thought this through?” stefan could not help but wonder. a puppy was a big responsibility after all.

tyler wasn’t paying any mind to anything happening around him, he sat at the bar and downed shot after shot. being dead for a few years left time for his life to change. his wife had been hunted down while she shifted on a full moon and since then he had been living life at the end of every whiskey bottle he could find. the hybrid only looked over when he heard someone sit next to him.

Katerina wasn’t paying much heed to where she was going, lost in her thoughts. She had apologised to one person, but there were so many more. The task felt insurmountable and in her distraction, did not realize she was bumping straight into another person. She steadied herself as she exclaimed her displeasure. “Hey! Watch it-”

Stefan had been distracted lately. Something had been going on between Chris, Melinda, Hope , as well as some other resistance members and he had yet to hear of what exactly nit was. It’d been bothering him, on top of his brother coming back from the dead, which wasn’t easy to deal with either. He was about to apologize when she spoke first. Still, he was the one who bumped into her so- “Sorry.” He said.
