people often forget that many of my chemical romance's members are disabled, mentally ill, and chronically ill, and were one of the first bands to be open about it. this is especially true with regards to frank having chronic pain, multiple surgeries, being immunocompromised, having horrible gut health problems, food restrictions, etc. gerard wears an in-ear hearing aid, has had massive mental health struggles, and is a recovering addict. mikey's bipolar, had mental health issues, and is a recovering addict. back during their original run, the band was on the forefront of talking about these things. in the 2000s, it was taboo to mention depression to the media, let alone "oh btw one of our guitarists throws up constantly." but they did anyways.

(not to mention the hundreds of injuries between them, including during filming or on stage. i think famous last words holds a record for number of sustained injuries during a single video shoot at Everyone In The Fucking Band Plus Some Others.)

thinking about how one of the first things we learn about susie is that she's so hungry she eats the classroom chalk, and its heavily implied she doesnt have any food at home.

thinking about how the first thing kris does when they rip out the soul in chapter 1 is eat the pie their mother made, and then again in chapter 4 the first thing they do with their freedom is drink chocolate milk, its implied that they dont get a chance to eat when we control them.

thinking about how susie and kris bond over the weird shit they eat and drink. the moss, the fruit juice, the apple shampoo. although the circumstances are different theyre always on the same wavelength when it comes to food.

and most of all thinking about how the first thing ralsei promised kris and susie was that he'd bake them both yummy cakes. and then he did. but he knows no matter what he bakes he cant take away their hunger. the worst curse of all; he knows about everything.

the cake isnt real, he isnt real. but he wants to be. for them, oh, how he wants to be.

descendants 3 is crazy cause it opens with the VKs surrounded by propaganda posters of themselves singing a propaganda song about how they should be proud to be from the garbage prison island but also the whole point of why they're there is to take people off into the "good" land so that they can have objectively better lives and they never seem to realize that they and Ben are just shills for the ideas that are still being made into law by the previous generation of rulers but with a shiny coat of "no it's progressive now cause we're letting some isle folks over" paint and when Hades and Uma point blank inform them of this point multiple times throughout the film they are reluctant and Mal is straight up refusing to believe it and has convinced herself that closing the barrier was her idea and hers alone. they only change their minds when Hades does a good thing that he 100% did not need to do to deserve uhhhh humane living conditions. but at least they open the barrier and the people who deserve to live in the sunny land of auradon can do so, right? and then they still go back to visit their abusive parents at the end.
