Extra-ordinary from being an Ordinary
Crabs, Shrimps, Prawns, Lobsters, Squid, Milkfish, Lapu-lapu, Crawfish, Octopus, Abalones, Clams, Mussels, Oysters, Scallops, Tuna, Salmon and other seafood – these are one of the all-time favorites of everyone. But did you know how this seafood was being harvested from the sea? Did you know how much effort of a Fisherman exerted to gather them? Let’s know this story.
While some are fallen in deep of sleep, this old man wakes up and get his improvised fish net, walk in the seashore and start the engine of his boat, quietly. When Moon lines up in the sky, the man raised by fishing serve as their job leaves his house wherein located on one of the islands in Paombong of the Province Bulacan. As clock declares another day, this fifty-three-year-old man sailed in the sea to start his first harvesting of the day in his baklad.
After hours of fishing this man, Mauricio Aguilar went fish market at Panasahan in Malolos, Bulacan. He went home after gaining profit from hours of fishing and selling it to the market. Before lunch, Mauricio went back to the sea to collect the last pieces that his net can reach from the Baklad. As what happened in the middle of the night, hours of fishing will pass by. But this time rather than go directly to the fish market, he went home where the selection of what he captured happened. What can’t be sell in the market will serve as their viand for the day.
Everyday Mauricio life goes like a cycle. Fishing at 12 a.m. and went back at 9 a.m. or when the sea turns to its calmness. Him with his wife since their sons and daughter had their own family, leaves in the simple island of Sta. Cruz, Paombong, Bulacan. They might not consider as financial rich but they are contented and rich with happy memories. - 5/15/17

One of the dump sites in Marilao, Bulacan owned by Rufina Benedicto that being closed by years was still exposes its foul odor. A family-oriented man, Elizer Furio who sells meryenda such as lumpia, turon, karyoka and sopas, spaghetti or pancit servicing his customers using his bike as means of transportation in Camangyanan., Sta. Maria, Bulacan. Everyday his wife cooks the food that he’ll going to selled in the afternoon. Their goods are cheaper reasoning to be sold out everyday.
