I just realized how during the duration of the whole series, they always put emphasis on the phrase "beyond reasonable doubt". And I remember how Yangcrates then explained to the jury what that phrase meant, with the 90% complete puzzle and how even though the pieces weren't complete, it was beyond reasonable doubt that it was a picture of an elephant.

This brings me to my next point. The entire series, we are fed with crumbs of Solhwi. The small touches, the shared looks and the stares (mostly of Joon Hwi), the dialogues, how comfortable they are with each other, how they rely on each other, how they are always there for each other, and how they look out for each other. Nesryn-writes expounds more about these points here.

But my point is, following how they have always emphasized BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT even in the trials, maybe it was the writer's intention for us viewers to put two and two together.

Because even without that confession, through how they were with each other, we can deduce beyond reasonable doubt that they were meant for each other.

I rest my case, your honors.

So, I hesitate, if I can act the same for you (And my darlin', I'll be rooting for you) - pt. 2

Summary: what Joonhwi ponders about after receiving Kang Sol's support. This was inspired by London Grammar's Rooting For You (you can hear the song by clicking the name).

"Are you thinking about your uncle?"

Joonhwi's heart skipped a beat as he glanced at Sol's solemn face. He scoffed inwardly while shifting his weight from one leg to another. For someone who could read him so well, she was very oblivious to his obvious feelings for her.

"I'll be rooting for you in your uncle's place" the smile she surely had on her face as she said those meaningful words had his insides feeling warm all of the sudden.

How did I get so lucky? Joonhwi thought. He raised his head to look at her and smiled. "I'll do the same"

Because how could I not? You've given me unconditional support even when I had the world against me and for that I'll be forever grateful, Kang Sol - he had to bite his tongue to stop his thoughts from tumbling out of his mouth.

After their brief interaction, they ate their bowls of ramyeon in a comfortable silence and then headed off to their dorms earlier than usual, both of them too tired to keep practicing their argument for the competition.

But sleep never came for Joonhwi, the events of the day leaving him too shaken up to close his eyes. The realisation he'd had of desperately wanting to kiss Sol while they were practicing in the mock court still too fresh on his mind. Because even though he didn't show it outwardly, he had felt moved both by the passion and tenacity Sol had shown while reciting their main argument and by the way she made eye contact with him for reassurance.

Joonwhi often thought, if someone were to ask, he would never be able to pinpoint when did his feelings began to shift from friendly care to loving adoration. But he certainly knew he never wanted to stop feeling like he did.

That's why, as time went on, his heart went from mere fluttering to full stop every time Sol did something small but meaningful towards him, like that one time he had overslept and she had prepared him a bowl of ramyeon just how he liked it. Because this could mean she felt the same way too...

And because he wanted to test Sol's feelings, he started to tease her more in a flirty way rather than his usual cheeky remarks. Like the time she attempted to tease him about parting his hair to the side and he gave her his signature smirk combined with a flirty comeback, and marveled at how Sol's cheek were tinged a bright shade of pink as he rendered her speechless. But also he started wearing his hair parted to the side more because he knew she liked it.

Finally, the confirmation of Kang Sol's feelings towards him came in the form of Yeseul's advice after a night drinking in celebration of them passing a particularly difficult exam, while he helped her carry an exhausted, asleep Sol back to her dorm.

"You know, oppa, you should tell unnie how you feel" she said as he gave her a pointed look "don't look at me like that, oppa! she likes you... unnie has liked you for a while now but you and I both know how oblivious she is".

And maybe Joonhwi would follow Yeseul's advice. He just had to find the perfect timing to confess his feelings.

a project in one of the law schoolz' subjects where pairs are chosen at random. sol a ended up being partners w yebeom and she has a hard time clicking with him bc of different work habits.

she calls joonhwi on the phone to rant about yebeom bc they did an internship together.

"it's so hard to work with yebeom," she starts. "he's so talkative."

"any more talkative than you?" joonhwi teased.

"yah," sol a scolds. "anyway, how did you deal with him?"

"i worked with a different prosecutor halfway through the internship, remember?"

sol a deflates. "oh."

she sighs. "guess i'm just gonna have to power through."

silence on the other end of the line.

sol a clears her throat. "hey, han joonhwi."

"hmm?"

"if we got to choose our partners... you would have chosen me, right?"

he laughs lightly.

"...right?" she asks again.

"you're the smartest person i know," he indirectly answers.

"that doesn't answer my question, and stop lying."

"you are the smartest person i know — that's not a lie. and the only one i like working with — also not a lie. so yes. i'll choose you. always."

i just realized how i was greatly influenced by law school. and also, i realize that law school really taught me many things. im an engineering student but im interested in crimes and such, and guess what while answering my homework on a law subject, ive applied what the law school characters do when they are having a case. law school really ate my system. we were asked if a certain company should insist on rights or privilege as an argument. thank you law school, i enjoyed answering that! HAHAHAHA

or what she meant was her family. she had a family that will root for her. she had byeol, her mom, and dan. unlike joonhwi, he only had his uncle to root for him, not until sol a tells him that she will do that in his uncle's place. this is what i thought.

help coz i still don't know the answer - when joon hwi said "me too" to sol a, what did she mean when she replied "no tnx i have someone who's rooting for me already"

look how proud he was when sol a told the old man that tears won't solve anything. this might be related to the scene at the legal clinic when joon hwi was a bit harsh on the woman with the bad fama case and sol a was scolded by prof yang bcos she was a bit emotional.

seeing this, she handled her emotions very well cos she knows she's giving legal, not psychological advices

on side note, i miss law school! 🥺😭
