solidarian being roommates in jims one bedroom apartment during evo. [aka my favorite silly bit to take as real true canon]

during july 2018, they were a ton of downtown-centric livestreams jim did that were very grian involved. this is all from one of those specific streams, centered around decorating jims newly bought apartment in downtown where it seems to be established that grian is his roommate :)

jim, as soon as grian walks in the door: "oh my gosh! that scared the life out of me. right grian- let me just turn on chat. [he says this next part aloud but also types it in chat, in case grian wasnt listening to the stream.] hello sir. welcome home. welcome home!"

[from here until zee comes, grian hangs around and deliberates what to record for jimmys stream notification sounds while jim decorates]

and zee really instigates this living together thing, because the second grian says 'our home' he gets really into the idea:

[neither of them acknowledged the dating comment by zee, because we started to do a bit of police roleplay.]

and because grian was recording jims stream sounds [which includes the old £5 dono sound, where he goes 'ooh thats a five, you know what that means timmy' and blows jimmy up] he well... blows jim up.

zee of course is not too happy his build has been blown up:

and zee was the only one thinking properly here by jumping to the dating thing, because if grian lives with jimmy and jimmy only has one bedroom... ?! well... there's not many other explanations...!!!

jimmy has also talked about grian keeping one of his pins before this:

jimmy in a misadventures stream: "[in reference to grian giving him the bag of jimmy samples] he obviously kept one for himself, because he's- he loves me!" [july 15 2025]

the season 6 hermit news incident [grian thought evo was obscure in early 2019?]

april 10 2019 bedrock stream[for reference, grian s6e59 was released april 11 2019]:

"im carrying on the torch? [after this jim says he'd be willing to do it if grian still wanted him to, but given the date this obviously didn't happen. unfortunately, it's not raining.]

drawing badly video [one of the times where jim is behind one of these instead of grian]

september 2 2018 minigames stream: "have you seen grians drawing badly series? i think you'd have a good chance against him! well grian actually wanted me to do an episode with him on that, but i said that i would be so- i know its a drawing badly series, but i would be awful! i'd be worse than bad!"

this is the shortest one of the ones i picked but its important to me... um well also grians mentioned jimmy in one of the videos with martyn [december 18 2017] saying that jim complained to him about how martyn plays christmas music in the car All the Time. Too Much. not one for the christmas spirit?

grian in new life [if grian ever plays modded minecraft for his channel, jim might scream]

may 22 2023 one block hardcore aka new life announcement stream [this is a lot of transcription]:

"what i can say is everybody- i was. i was this close 🤏 to having grian in it. this close! he was so tempted by the idea! and- and he was so close to joining it then he was like 'i cant do too many projects at once...' [...] i tried convincing him guys! i really did! [...] grian is very much... he focuses on one project and like- he can't split his time."

"it's a modded series guys! but also, thats why i wanted grian to do it! because grians never done a modded series! and i remember him literally saying to me 'i dont know if my audience will like a modded series' [jimmy smacks his hands up to his face in agony] and i was like BRO!!! i was like hitting my head against the desk! of course people are going to like you doing a modded series, what do you mean?! [he goes silent for a minute] i dont think anyones ever really seen him do modded stuff."

the new life solidarian could have been so cute, and jim was very caught up on it during the announcement stream... TT;

the solidarian cooking video slash stream [THIS ONE IS A LONG SAGA] [WILL IT EVER HAPPEN?]

-> may 29 2018 bedwars stream: mentioned the concept of doing a cooking challenge with martyn and netty, or grian.

-> june 03 2018 minigames stream: he solidifies the idea for 40k, and mentions he needs someone whos good at cooking. this is where the grian idea really gets cemented: "cause if you dont know, grian is a very very good cook. if you didnt know that, thats a little one for you guys, grian is a fantastic cook!"

-> june 06 2018 evo stream: this is the real idea conception, he mentions netty and martyn as part of this. it was planned to be for 40k and he talks about how grian is a good cook and would get into it with the netty.

[theres more miscellaneous mentions besides this afterwards so only the important ones from now on, just know jimmy loves to talk about how good at cooking grian is :D! he gets real excited to tell us about grian cooking for him, outside of this specific context as well.]

-> june 20 2018 evo stream: proposes the idea to grian onstream :) this where grian proposes the wheel of ingredients too. and says jim has to eat it all LOL.

-> june 27 2018 evo stream: hes on call with grian and they talk about it here. much of the same this is just important because its one of the last major mentions before jim hits 40k and it doesnt happen because they lived far-ish away from each other (by british standards LOL, around 3 hours maybe 3.5 iirc).

-> july 24 2018 summer camp stream: hes moved it up to 50k after explaining that because they live so far from each other he didnt get to do so for 40k: "me and grian are going to cook together, hes going to be the cook and im going to be the builder!"

-> august 27 2020 manhunt stream: Big jump. someone in chat asks about the prospect of cooking with grian for 100k. because its been So Long. jim basically jumps out of his skin going: "i need to do a cooking video with grian!!! i do!!! im actually seeing grian soon... so i'll make sure we do do a cooking video..."

-> april 3 2022 baking stream[blue for jim, green for kirsty]: "jimmy and grian baking stream? that would be fun. that would be fun. [...] grian does love his cooking. i feel like grian, he cares a lot and he would be frustrated with jimmy. yeah he'd be getting frustrated with me."

i think its very cute how grian used to essentially use jims stream chat like personal dms. [aka glorified grian chat message photodump. but i say Things as well]

exhibit A: checking up on him in regards to an injury in his chat when he was in the stream for entirely seperate bugging jim reasons to begin with. i just think this ones cute okay Starting out strong.

[april 10 2019 bedrock stream, iirc jim injured his shoulder in march]

exhibit B-1: grian yearning to play games with jim. this was a crazy era for that because jimmy used to come on stream complaining he was being kept up so late at night by grian to play games. jim was actually really quick to consider stopping what he was playing for stardew instead until he realized he didnt have it downloaded LOL

[sidenote: if you ever wondered why this series ended, its because grian started playing too far ahead off stream. his stardew obsession. but, and this is why this is wortg mentioning, jim really assured us a billion times over Very Fondly that hes absolutely okay with him getting too intense about stardew, because he really really loves to let grian do whatever he wants forever.]

exhibit B-2: league 🫡. no further elaboration. this was years ago not recently but bless that jim has quit and gone to overwatch. we need grian to quit though because jim seems to swear that grian is basically his own personal evil league demon.

exhibit C: the references to their actual texts. as if us hearing their voice message exchanges, or being described their voice message habits by jim, or even being read out their text conversations on rare chances wasnt enough... we need to be told when grians ignored or has sent something funny as well. this is grian doing his part when its usually jim giving us solidarian insights. i appreciate it.
