11.13.23. (These dates are dates of the post, not the actual time spent there. I'm always a bit behind on posting)............The photo above is taken from the road on the trip from Taormina to above the city of Cefalù with it's massive La Rocca looming over the city. The rest is walking around that wonderful gem of a city, the medieval hamlet in front of the Tyrrhenian sea. The view from my bedroom window with the terracotta roofs. And one of the fresh fish markets around town....always a kitty outside waiting for bits.

11.6.23. This and possibly the next post will be the last of my stay in Taormina. Taking my final funivia ride up from the beach and back to the city center. The churches, the mosaic and tiled floors, the walls, the green balconies, the stone, the trees, the granita con panna and a warm brioche. I know, it sounds weird, but if you are ever in Taormina, you must go to Bam Bar and have theirs. It is definitely one of the best treats!!!!

10.30.23.

Capizzi, a bit NW of Taormina, on a road trip to a truffle market. Unfortunately there weren't many truffles but lots and lots of cheese, some of which I'd never seen before....and oh so delicious. You can just give me pane, formaggio, oilo, ricotta fresca and homemade marmalata and I'll be very, very happy!! Can't seem to upload the rest of the photos.....a domani. Sto stanca adesso. Buona notte.

I think Osteria Da Rita is one of my favorite restaurants in Taormina. No reservations (very LA) . You wait in line against the other building from 5:00 on.....and there is always a line. Love the food and the music! Going forward I'll be putting the date on these posts so it's easier for you to see which is the newest. (Thank you Cindy!) 10.23.23

Yesterday after school I took a ceramics class. Marco has been making Sicilian pottery the old fashioned way "by hand" for thirty years. Made a small vase type vessel. Going back tomorrow to try something else. It was wonderful to be in his studio working with clay again.

Changed apartments last weekend and this is the view from my kitchen window. No balcony in this one but a much better location. Via del Ginnasio 2/B. There's a lot of google map stuff going on. haha. This one was real tricky to find, the last house on the left!
