HOW TO STUDY 8 -10 HOURS DAILY
2. The 8-8-8 STRATEGY
The second tip to talk about, concerning our decision to study for long hours is what is dubbed the 8-8-8 STRATEGY. 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, 8 hours of study, and 8 hours of leisure time.
This might sound new, but critically analysing the usage of time of the average student, we spend shorter hours on normal studies and longer hours engaging in non study activities. With the mindset of at least a daily 8 hour of study, we can appropriately plan for the day, reduce time wastage and ensure the maximum use of our school time.
8 hours of uninterrupted sleep
Well, I might be no sleep expect, but what I know is, an adult need around around 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep in every 24 hours. This is so, as the body gets tired from straneous work, walking about, thinking, etc. Sleep is said to heal the soul from the day's activities. Without sufficient sleep, you are putting too much work on your body and brain. We tend to overlook sleep, but that is the most important aspect of our day, as it relaxes the brain and muscles, and gives new energy. It must be stressed, even though you might have done nothing in the entire day, you still need sleep in order to recover your psychological faculties from all the straneous work you put on it.
8 hours of study
A student's work is to study. Spending approximately 8 months per year in school seems quite a deal. That, alone should indicate to us the real purpose of our school time. School is for socialization, connections, networking, opportunities, etc, but the main aim is to build a career, all the others are add ons. Building a career require you to learn a certain programme, that boils down to studying. Every student must study, as knowledge is not made in a vacuum. As a student, you need daily enough time to read your books. Well, many of us have got other things interferring with our studies, like on campus part time, career building in other directions, etc. Targets are realistically abused all the time, but they are not thrown away. Therefore, setting a target for at least 8 hours of study is a step in the right direction. Of in a particular day, you have a meeting or symposium to attend, you logically abuse your target for satisfying consequences. On a normal day, you can make it up by trying to achieve your normal 8 hour study. DO NOT make it a habit to abuse targets, ad they tend to loose their value anytime you abuse it. Make a mental note to make yourself 8 hour of study time everyday, as studying is the only way you can succeed in your educational life.
8 hours of leisure time
Now, the insertion of leisure time cam be misleading, but in this context, it means time you are neither studying or sleeping. Leisure links study and rest, as it gives a comforting time to relax our minds from routined and demanding cognitive tasks. Leisure must not be overlooked. Do not spend all your free time on your phone or computer. Instead, you can balance the time you spend on phone with a little bit of outfield work, engaging in something you like, friendly visits, treating yourself to a satisfying self cooked meal. It is evident that our free time can be used to achieve very satisfying ends.
Dubbed the 8-8-8 STRATEGY, you can achieve the best out of everyday, especially on days you have nowhere to go, with good study, quality sleep and satisfying leisure time.

HOW TO STUDY 8-10 HOURS DAILY
Physical, mental and *spiritual preparation.
One thing I learnt about effective studies is how prepared I usually am, before taking a book to read. Preparation really sound simple, but it requires much more than we assume. Before beginning to study, you need a physical state of a normal and comfortable person, a mental state of little or no issues, and a satisfying spiritual state if you're inclined.
Now with the physical state, you might want, first and foremost, ensure a state of ones self that is comfortable enough, including what you wear, how you smell, what you eat, etc. Well, this might sound absurb, but it is practically reasonable. It is widely believed that, the mind drifts off from an attentive state in a maximum of every 2 minutes, meaning, in every 2 minutes of attentiveness, you loose a minimum of 5-10 seconds. Now in preparing physically for your studies, you do not want to be constantly checking the time to see when the delivery guy is bringing the food, or occasionally smelling your pits because you sense something doesn't smell right, or constantly scratching your body from dry skin, or dosing off. In instances when thses situations exist, your 2 minutes of mind drift could be reduced to surprisingly 1 minute or less, meaning your mind will drift every now and then, and the moments of lack of concentration can prolong from the 10 seconds to more than 30 seconds. You mignt find these numbers menial, but it goes a long way to reducing your actual study focus time. When the environment you study is conducive, and your actual self is comforting, you can accumulate as much as 50 minutes of effective study in every one hour. Therefore, you have to eat right with enough fluids nearby, ensure good hygiene, ensure the study area is conducive with less noise as much as possible and reduce self disturbance as much as possible.
Mental state is something which is surprisingly ignored by us student when studying. It is a psychological fact that your mind cannot focus on two things at the time, and this can be translated in studying. When reading with overburden mindset, the mind self regulates and focuses on the most pressing issue, and the most pressing issue is hardly your books. What I'm trying to imply is, your mind operates in shifts as to how to focus on one particular thing, when one or more things are on your mind when you study. This translates to what I usually tell myself "never study if you're on an inconclusive state about an issue". I disapprove on my own philosophy, as conclusion of a problem can take days, weeks or months, so does it mean we won't study all the while when we are having minor mental issues? It's a definite no. What we do is minimize the attention we give to such issues. One strategy I adopted is MEDITATION.(You can read more about it on the internet). I dont know how people interpret meditation, but for me. I meditate to push away my inconclusive mental issues as far as possible, by focusing on one good thing in my life I can point to without any difficulty. What I mean is, I meditate by thinking about the good things, and refusing to think about the bad things that I do not have solution to. Sitting on the bed, with a soothing music(try soundcloud app), eyes closed and just focusing on all the good things. This might sound totally meaningless if you have not heard about MEDITATION, that is why you need to check a blog about it on the internet, or watch a MEDITATION vlog on youtube. Meditation is proven to reduce stress by at least 50% at a time, which is tremendously satisfying. Without a peaceful mental state, you cannot focus on your studies, thats why you need at least 15-20 minutes to actually push away all the bads, and think about the goods, before actually planning to study for long hours. It must be noted however that, not only bad thoughts distort our focus, but also, good thoughts. Think about being promised a play station 5. Can you successfully focus on your studies knowing you might be getting a play station anytime soon? Thats why MEDITATION is essential.
Finally, finding our spiritual self is very important in studying. If you're spiritually inclined, knowing that your maker( God, Allah, etc) is guiding you is actually satisfying and comforting. Im not saying you cannot have effective studies if you are not spiritually inclined to any SUPREME. What I want to put across is the comfort it brings when people of faith is actually mentally aware that their maker is watching over them, and giving them wisdom. Praying before studies actually increases mental strength of believers as it gives an extra assurance and motivation to study, even though there might actually not being a define intervention.
Successful studies does not rely on your knowledge. So far as you are not considered as a special student needing special education, there are very practical self interventions everybody can use in order to be physically prepared, mentally stable and spiritually satisfied in order to ensure maximum use of dedicated study time.

HOW TO STUDY 8-10 HOURS DAILY
The idea of sitting down for long hours to study, can be pretty daunting, and dedicating enough time for studies without an impending exam is heavingly devine. With the increasing burden to text, watch movies or play tv games, how do you self regulate to get the balance needed? In fact, there are many things that occupy the use of our time in a normal 24 hour day. With all this social life in mind, we still got to have our main purpose lurking behind our minds. So you just imagine, on a free 24 hour space without any lecture whatsoever, how much time do you dedicate to your studies, and how effective are the studies you do?
Well, spending a normal Saturday or holiday on your table, reading your book, takes courage and sacrifice. Of course social media is always buzzing on Saturdays, the beach, visiting friends or simply watching a movie a or playing video games. So, how do many people, including myself, developed the habit of studying 8-10 hours in a 24 hour space. Of course, no sure way exist when studies are concerned, but at least, there are certain behaviours you can adopt, in order to improve upon your studies and subsequently your grades. I have gotten the opportunity to meet a lot of really smart students, some who do not study till a quiz or exam is lurking, and still get an A, or a B+ on a bad day, and some who are always on their books. This statement shows clearly that there are no scientifically proven sure ways to get good grades and one way is not a sure passage way for another. But if you're like me, who needs a lot of studies before getting decent grades, or cannot rely on last minute studies to get pass mark, then stick around as I show you 3 PRACTICES I adopted to increase my study hours while maintain my effectiveness. Note, however that these are pure personal practices, and there is no guarantee of its success.

We alienate ourselves to the present, and excuse ourselves on the basis of future amendments. Is it time we critically thought about what actually is the future? Well, time can be lengthy, but it owes to how much of it you have. I used to think about the future as a moderate retirement building, up on the hill, peaceful, and myself walking towards it gradually. Well, people are unique, but we are similar more than we are different. 10 years past, I would have called today of my writeup as a typical future, but not realizing the accumulation of tomorrows that brought me here. The future always sounds amazing, with our imaginations and aspirations, but does the future actually exist? I believe the present is the future, as every tomorrow is another plan, another added up day, and another lost time. What I learnt from the past few weeks is that, we do not wholly plan for the future. Instead, we try to survive for the present day, and it culminates into another day. Of course, the future is the days ahead, but in real life, the future is what we see, what we do, and what we expect from our actions today, in the coming present day.
