There is no a priori justification of induction, but this is irrelevant. There are no better founded alternatives. It outperforms in all instances where past patterns continue and performs no worse than chance when they don't.

The natural numbers exist. By the virtue of us humans existing and being aware of this and the alternative we get 0 and 1. From there we induct to the rest of them. Further application to abstractions, categories (other places humans excel) generates all the rest of math's foundations.

If there does exist truth about the world, we don't have access to it. All we have are our individual sensations/qualia.

Practical "truths" exist and can be used in our decision making. We can try to use induction/deduction/etc to investigate patterns/variances in our qualia and make increasingly accurate predictions of future sensations. We can attempt to improve our "fit" with the world and better elicit the phenomenal reactions that we find most appealing and avoid the most repulsive.

There are no moral values, rights, or obligations. There don't appear to be any moral consequences of our actions in the world, only material ones.

Being in the world requires constant work. Our capacity for pain is inexhaustible and inaction alone is enough to invite it. Even worse, our capacity for pleasure is always diminishing. Repetition is enough to desensitize us to the things we enjoy.

Comedy is when we expect one thing but get an additional thing. Novelty is that little extra we hadn't expected/gotten used to.

I have agreed to not murder you all in exchange for you all agreeing not to murder me (or rather risk the punishments we agreed to for this violation). This is the story of progress in human history, individuals making positive-sum exchanges, aligning their preferences/incentives.

Meaning reduces the world, pretending away its chaos/indifference and our impotence/insignificance. We don't even try to understand it all, we just try to feel like we have some power in our little corner, so that we can call that power and call that understanding. Treating certain words as empty kills the fun, but it can also let us redefine them ourselves, towards whatever aim we want.

Decision-making is done better bottom-up. Local feedback is quicker, local action is more precise, and local risk has less costs. This makes its results very robust while still allowing opportunities for variation/experimentation .

In practice we often try to understand the world in basic cause/effect narratives, reducing as many variables/nuance as possible. (If I eat food, I won't be hungry, etc). This is helpful when trying to manipulate the world around us, but often poorly captures nuance and we have a hard time making use of knowledge that can't be reduced to simple syllogisms.

Win-win vs win-lose - Capitalism is built on the assumptions that trades between individuals can very often be win-win propositions, leaving all parties better off, though not necessarily equally. A lot of criticism of it while coherent, rely on the assumption that many of these transactions are actually win-lose, with one party taking advantage of the parties with less leverage. This often assumes the existence of a "just price", that would be fairer for the lower-leverage parties. I would deny real worth of anything, and say all that we can do is provide others with alternatives to what they might do otherwise. And most often the direness of their situation is a product of how cold, hard, and difficult it is to survive in the world and have any fun. These are inescapable facts about the nature of existence and the world, and thus any alternatives one human can offer another is the only kinds of salve there is for this condition. (As opposed to a situation engineered by someone to create leverage over you and force you to accepting their bargain. This is basically extortion and coverable by something like criminal law, not an aspect of markets that requires regulation)

Those who can't compete in the status competitions they find themselves in will often drop out and find/build a new status game that rewards their strengths and ignores their weaknesses. This would be fine enough, if everyone then didn't turn around and fight battles to raise their status game as the truly noble one that rewards the real virtues and denigrate everyone else's as just a playground for those lacking in the "true" values (ie those precise ones the speaker possesses). In a similar fashion most moral pleas are just pleas to give things (money, status) to the speaker, and offering nothing else in return. To do something because it is the morally correct thing to do is to do it for no reason whatsoever.

While freedom of choice isn't sufficient for determining other's preferences, it is necessary. In this way, those who would try to forbid other's freedoms in order to protect them from damaging alternatives, do so based only on mere surmise and little relevant evidence. If it's truly damaging it should be much easier to just convince those to just choose not to, and if they make that choice, with full freedom, that is good evidence of their preference (which may in fact be to damage themselves).

I have a theory that aesthetics and similar subjective pursuits can be elevated to replace a lot of what might be lost when embracing nihilism. You don't need strongly held beliefs and values to need something to aim at in your life. Your pursuits can seek to build your world around you for only yourself and starting in you immediate vicinity, work your whole life to bend the world toward your preferences. The mistake is that you need some grand narrative, large in size and scope, when all you need is one that takes time (around 80 years). What matters is that you have something to do, and tending to an widely-applicable aesthetic can give you that while remaining as arbitrary and meaningless as anything else.

Our public, private, and in between personas are different because the pay is different. Being seen as competent and lovely publically is a vauable capital that has the power to pay your rent in a way that translucency rarely can. Awareness of this can lead to obsessions with appearances bordering on narcissism. But ironically since this often can and does provide fungible value to it's practitioners it may in fact be more useful than it appears.
