This is a sampling of just some of the places our groups traveled since 1989. If you're new to AFS, please look through to get a better idea of what we do. If you an "AFS junkie", maybe you'll see yourself in one of the photos!

AFS Bike & Barge Through the Tulips
We just returned from a springtime immersion in the land of windmills on a tour never to be forgotten. Everyone in the Netherlands bikes and the rest of the world is catching on to the joy of Slow Travel to deeply connect to the landscapes and culture. April was the best month to experience the charming wonders of Haarlem, Alkmaar, Leiden, Gouda, Pumerand and dynamic Amsterdam.
I am not a biker, but discovered this to be exceedingly delightful. The key is a good guide. Our guide Joppa was outstanding in his briefings, patience, stamina and fatherly guidance with an everlasting smile. “We go as fast as the slowest”, he’d shout, always mindful of our safety. Day 1 he “tested” us in the museum village Zaanse Schans. Oh, what a wobbly mess we were! One tumbled straight into a canal. We soon got our bearings on the bike paths flat is Dutch pancakes. 22 AFS’ers perfectly aligned and feeling so proud as the locals stared at us “helmet heads”. Not even children or babies wear helmets here, but the humiliation was worth the joy. “Who cares” I thought, peddling and eating my stash of chocolate bars from my pocket. My theory w exertion would burn off all of my caloric intake, but that sadly proved to be wrong.
We averaged 22 miles a day. Distance becomes relative when you pedal through medieval villages and miles of tulip fields bursting in rainbow colors. Onward, we peddled right through the iridescent floral fields fragrance by sweet purple hyacinth. Do you know there are 2500 different types of tulips? Or that the farmers will plow up every flower in order to produce more bulbs for global export? I didn’t. We visited windmills, a cheese auction centuries old, floral museums and the famous annual Keukenhuf, a Tulipmania Disneyland alive with endless gardens and displays.
In reflection, it’s hard to believe I bicycled 100 miles over a week through this Venice of the North. Our photos are exquisite. I will miss two things most; our exceptional barge crew and outstanding Chef Koon who became our family and the omnipresent fresh caramel Stroopwaffles. I must present this Adventures For Singles soft adventure journey again next spring. I believe that anyone who can ride a bike would love to pedal through he petals wonderful Holland!

“The Great Wide Open” Magnificent Mongolia & the Nadaam Festival
Imagine telling your friends you’re off on a vacay to Mongolia. Most haven’t a clue where it is, much less that it is in Central Asia. They’ll wonder why you’d choose to escape to a place so remote – where the nearest Starbucks is 3000 miles away. Well, if you love the outdoors, this new AFS eco-adventure is for you! Here’s a ruggedly beautiful land of abundant wildlife, snowcapped mountains, vast deserts and dramatic landscapes where there are no fences. You’ll witness stark natural beauty and one of the world’s last surviving nomadic cultures. Fodor’s rates Mongolia as one of the top emerging destinations for 2015 - maybe because it’s also Asia’s most unspoiled country with a reputation for legendary hospitality to visitors. No visa, no shots, yet such an exotic escape.
AFS makes this trip large fun for you!... Ride a 2-humped camel, learn to eagle dance, milk a yak, meditate with Buddhist monks in a temple, visit families who bred the unique Mongolian horse, listen to the legendary Throat Singers, haggle at markets and watch as hundreds of youngsters go cross-country in a thundering race on horses.
It all begins in the cosmopolitan capital of Ulaanbaatar for tours of ancient monasteries and historical sites. We then head into a nature reserve for exploration and our own nomadic experience. Enjoy two nights in traditional Mongolian yurts or “gers” (felt walled tents with a private bathroom attached!) and lamb barbeques under a BIG Blue Sky, illuminated with countless stars.
The highlight is the spectacular Nadaam Festival when the entire country comes to a standstill. So popular, we reserved your tickets a year in advance. This colorful annual event lets you experience Mongolia’s best customs and traditions. You’ll love the opening ceremonies of hundreds of dancers, musicians, horses, golden eagles and athletes. It’s all about the games of skilled archery, wrestling and horse riding. Nearly a thousand horses are gathered to participate.
Founded in the 13th century by Genghis Khan, this empire of Mongols stretched for thousands of miles from China to Eastern Europe. It holds the world’s lowest population density per square mile, but packs a wallop of fascinating wonders. You can even opt for a fly-in to explore the Gobi Desert, if you like. Limited to only 28 participants.
Now is the time to visit as nomadic life is quickly disappearing. Come step back in time to a simpler way of life. It’s wild, untamed and pure nature at her finest. Come hear the cry of the eagle for spiritual quietude as well as a spirited adventure!

Long overlooked, this country is now hot on the tourist trail. Tourists go mad shopping for bargains. They flock here for world-class diving, great cuisines, UNESCO sites and natural wonders like volcanoes in lakes, towering mountains, rainforests, under river caves and white sand beaches.
It all begins with our Thrill-a-Manila crazy Jeepney Tour. Imagine the joy to follow…

Fly to Bohol and exciting Cebu islands, a water-lovers paradise with unparalleled variety of life. Snorkel stunning coral reefs and go dolphin watching from our fine resorts.
Visit the only Tarsier Sanctuary to get up close to the world’s tiniest (and cutest) endangered monkeys.
Count the Chocolate Hills for a rare and surreal experience. Mystery and legends surround this World Heritage Site of how the 1,268 cone shaped hills were formed.
Enjoy a jungle river cruise, a beach BBQ, unique Bee Farm and one of Anthony Bordain’s favorite restaurants.
Visit Adventure Park for a dozen thrilling activities to raise your adrenaline! Pedal through the clouds on the new Bike Zipline. There’s cable cars, Zorb balls, canopy tours, hanging bridges and much more. You can even don foam suits for Sumo wrestling here.
The Philippines is a land apart from Asia with cultural and spiritual quirks. A Catholic country with Portuguese architecture and friendly laid back Filipinos who love to celebrate life and so much fun, visitors always return.
This trip is so packed with fun; it’s impossible to get bored. We even provide a day to discover Hong Kong!
February is the best time to visit when it’s dry with average temps of 86˚. It’s an easy place to visit; no visa or shots and you’ll love our 5-Star hotels and resorts. The slogan is, “It’s more fun in the Philippines.” Some say it’s too perfect to be real.

“Game of Thrones & Northern Lights” - Iceland
Suddenly it seems everyone is talking about Iceland. Join us on our 5th arctic safari to the top of the world. This land of Fire & Ice will melt your heart! Pure, natural and unspoiled, it’s a land for our nature lovers. The geothermal scenery looks like a sci-fi movie set where cracks in the earth belch steam and boiling waters burst from geysers.
This is a totally unique AFS adventure, particular for fans of the hot show “Game of Thrones”. Journey through the Seven Kingdoms from King’s Landing to Beyond the Wall. See other magical places where the latest TV series were filmed.
It’s packed with fun filled activities as we journey to the Center of the Earth. See the majestic mountains at South Shore with rows of glaciers. Dip in steaming hot springs at Nature Bath and the iconic aqua marvel, The Blue Lagoon. Delve into Icelandic cuisine. Tour sexy Reykjavik, famous for its nightlife. Visit the town of Geysir, Gulfoss and other UNESCO Wonders. One of the highlights is the annual WINTER LIGHTS FESTIVAL celebrating the aurora borealis! Festivities and “light art” will fill the city.
Yes, you can do a cheap trip here in winter, but it won’t cover the exciting tours on our amazing itinerary! We fly north to Akureyi, just 40 miles from the Arctic Circle. Here we enter Free Folk Territory and explore north of “The Wall” featured in season 4 series. (Few tourists get here, but you may see some Hidden People.) The Waterfall of the Gods, volcanoes and mystical landscapes will fill you with wonder.
Iceland is the “best in snow” and never out of season. We only visit in winter because it’s half the cost of summer and this season reveals the best organic visual experience of an otherworldly landscape. It’s surreal photography.
Cold is the new hot. No country knows how to do winter better and some parts are warmer than New Jersey in February. Time magazine calls it the “world’s hottest winter vacation spot where one plans to return before they even depart.”
So near (5 hours flight), so exotic and guaranteed to ignite your imagination. Iceland is Europe’s best-kept secret and we provide a nice price for ice. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime trip like no other. You’ll never forget your Polar Dreams of Iceland!

"Hemingway's Havana" - The Best of Cuba
There's no doubt Cuba is a unique destination to visit in the Caribbean. So much history has happened there over hundreds of years and so much of the countries culture still lies relatively untouched by outside influences. Cuba has the rare ability to maintain its distinctive identity. On this trip, you get to know Cuba up close and personal, the way the locals know it.
Some traveler's desirability to visit Cuba is directly proportionate to how taboo it is. The longer it's been closed to the outside world, the deeper their curiosity and appetite to visit. Legal travel from the USA has been all but impossible, but now there is a rare alteration in regulations that allow special groups to take part in educational and cultural tours through the People to People Program.
Many companies offer Cuba tours, but one must be cautious on what is provided or promised. We want to do it right through an official Cuba travel service provider who has designed trips for many American universities and institutions. Authentic Cuba Travel understands Cuba better than anyone with expert directors and representatives. They partner with a US cultural organization to be able to provide a People to People for many US travelers. Their itineraries are designed by Cubans for Americans and create sustainable tourism to get locals involved. Groups are escorted by Cuba culture experts and college graduate guides.
Our goal is to captive the identity that defines this unique island nation. By getting to commune with people in meaningful connections, we havanadiscover the heart and soul of Cuba's effervescent population. This trip is far more interesting and memorable than the typical sand and surf vacations that draw European visitors.
Hello Cuba! We have a full schedule of daily cultural exchanges and activities. We will explore in depth the performing arts like music, dance, the colonial architecture, photography, pottery, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the museums, cuisines and much more. It's an exciting program from bustling Havana to historic Trinidad and neoclassic jewel of Cienfuegos. We stay in fine hotels with most meals included throughout.
Cuba can seem lost in time. People joke that when you arrive, be sure to set your watch back 50 years. Yes, you'll see the iconic "Yank-tanks" everywhere, those class tail-finned 50's American cars that were imported before the revolution. You'll find there's no billboards or credit cards or cell phones. This is an off the grid vacation experience.
No one can guess what the future holds for US-Cuba relations. Now is the time to take advantage of this current opportunity. Memories are the best made from extraordinary experiences. Come… observe, explore, discover and learn about Cuba, a land beyond the ordinary!

"Turtle Conservation & Whale Safari" AFS Marine Expedition in the Sea of Cortez - (small group)
Now here's an extraordinary eco-adventure that will be any outdoor lover's dream. Imagine snorkeling with a colony of friendly sea lions, kayaking amoung grey whales and participating in a world renowned sea turtle conservation project! This new AFS trip takes us to one of the most exciting places in the world along the breathtaking seascapes of Baja California Sur, La Paz Mexico, Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean. It's an educational expedition as well as a ton of fun.
After reading about this new sustainable tour operator in a dozen travel publications, Terry and I booked this for our vacation. We then decided, why not invite other AFS friends to join us on this private tour we customized. We love nature, marine life and particularly turtles. Grupo Tortuguero is a model for community based conservation. We will join them in a netting, measuring and counting project to aid in the green sea turtles survival.
There's so much more. It's whale season in March when grey whales come here to mate and give birth to calves. We will be right amount them navigating in panga boats to capture photos of a lifetime! It begins in the stunning UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Espirito Santo Island that teems with fish, bottlenose dolphins, whales and sea lions. Playing in these crystal turquoise waters immerses us in a different world. Later explore Magdalena Bay, hike pristine sand dunes to untouched white sand beaches. Paddle sea kayaks through lush mangrove canals. Enjoy cultural interaction with fishermen and locals.
It's about discovery, adventure and comfort. Naturalist guides accompany us throughout. Some nights are spent in hotels, others are "glamping". We camp on a secluded island of sea shells and sandollars. Everything is set up for us including gourmet cuisines to stargazing at night.
Read the thrilling itinerary to see if this is conducive to your vacation needs. Find your inner conservationist. Your participation on this trip gives back to help save the turtles. It is green tourism at its best. I hope you'll join us in a splash of fun.

Tall Ship Sail to Sun Drenched Amalfi - That's Amore!"
Rome-Ravello-Positano-Poniza-Sorrento-Capri-Toarminia-Stromboli-Lipari Islands
Rome - I know, you've been there and bought the T shirt, but have you explored the south on an elegant sailing adventure? Leave the crowed buses, congested streets, eternal long lines and board the luxurious Royal Clipper, the world's tallest tall ship with 42 sails on 5 masts. Visualize those sails unfurling to the strains of classical music as you glide into the stunning isle of Capri. It's an epiphany under the stars as you realize that life is meant to be lived!
Our past groups loved Star Clippers and they love our AFS groups. Last year, I surveyed 9 crew members who live onboard year round, asking which was their favorite sailing. Unanimously they responded, "the Amalfi." One officer said there's few words to describe it..."Entering Stromboli, all lights go out. Silently we float towards the 7000' volcanic cone as local Sicilians run port side to wave at us. Then she bursts, spewing red hot lava into the skies, several times an hour, like some fiery Italian Old Faithful."
amalfi singles tour
On this Mediterranean adventure, we sail into the unspoiled Aeolian, the Palmarola and Lipari Islands. Our 439' yacht squeezes into hidden bays on a tranquil sea route. Marvel at cliffs terraced with scented lemon groves, vineyards that spill into the sparkling sea and whitewashed villas clinging to unforgiving slopes. Cameras ready? These idyllic ports were loved by Marco Polo. He was born here.
On this AFS cruise vacation, you can wander the ruins of Pompeii. Explore the treasures of Rome. Ride cable cars up to the smoking crater rim of Mt. Etna. Taste local wines and gelatoes in Postino. Boat into Capri's Blue Grotto and watch fishermen bring in their morning catch along Amalfi's coast.
It's a new age of sailing with traditions of the past. Onboard the Royal Clipper, you'll be treated like royalty. Stewards clean your stateroom twice a day. Inspired chefs make each meal culinary adventure. The vibe is "upscale-barefoot" and you only unpack once with only 226 fellow guests. Get to know the crew of 106. Enjoy the spa, 3 swimming pools and the aft marine platform for water sports. If you choose, help the crew hoist the sails and climb up the Crows Nest for breathtaking views.
If you're tired of the mega-ship experience with its endless buffet lines, come try a unique and extraordinary sail to feel blissfully relaxed. Scenic beauty awaits you at every turn. Buon Viaggio!

“The Monkey Whisper” - The Best of Peru
Peru is a privileged country with an abundance of natural beauty. From the stunning Andes to the jungles, we’ll be exploring many different ecosystems on this on this trip.
We begin with an overnight in Lima and then ascend into fabulous Cuzco to discover its archeological wonders. It’s the oldest cities in South America and my favorite. We’ll explore the vibrant squares, colorful markets and its well preserved Inca ruins. Tour the Temple of the Sun, San Pedro and experience some thrilling cultural interactions with the Cuyuni people in the mountains. Witness their exact way of life that has passed down generations for hundreds of years. Meeting locals is my favorite activity on any trip and they look forward meeting you. We’ll join in their festivities, spiritual traditions and dine on Andean specialties you’ll never forget.
Cuzco’s the gateway to the mysterious glory of Machu Picchu. We’ll offer a private full day guided tour for those that haven’t been here or some who long to return. The visual experience entering these terraced and exquisite ruins in the clouds is nothing less than spectacular. Yet there’s so much more.
We fly to Puerto Maldonado for the highlight of our journey into Peru’s majestic Amazon region. Here man and nature live in harmony in one of the greatest tropical rainforests on earth. The vast biodiversity is indescribable. The Amazon River, flowing 4000 miles, is the world’s second longest and its environs provide a third of the world’s oxygen.
peru
We’ve done a lot of Amazon trips, but this is most special as it’s the real deal in Tampobata National Park, a huge biosphere where scientists come for research. Our home is Refugio Amazonas Lodge. They know how to balance perfect comfort with discovery! Even while you’re being pampered, you’ll still get the feel of being Tarzan in the jungle with nature vividly surrounding you.
Climb the spectacular 90’ Canopy Tower for gazing views. Photograph hundreds of parrots and parakeets that flock to the clay lick. Enjoy guided trail hikes to look for toucans, sloths, monkeys, capybara, anteaters, tapirs and if lucky, a jaguar. Fish for piranha. Visit a Brazil Nut farm. Paddleboat cruise at night for caiman. Attend lectures on medicinal plants. Enjoy a holistic massage at the Wellness Center. The possibilities seem endless here. You are surrounded only by miles of primordial forest. There are no roads in this virgin jungle experience.
May is dryer and the perfect time to go. Our past groups loved Peru, the Amazon and we’ve kept it so affordable with so much provided!
Come channel your inner-explorer. This is an extraordinary vacation that will certainly enrich your appreciation of our planet!

"Madagascar Magic - The 8th Continent" Beaches, Rainforests and Leapin' Lemurs
to a place like no other. Isolated 300 miles off Africa in the warm Indian Ocean lies an eco-paradise waiting to be explored. It is the world's 4th largest island with such bio diversity, it's called the "8th continent." It is home to 5% of the earth's plant and animal species, 80% of these are unique only to Madagascar!
250,000 species of flora and fauna, 220 small islands, 18 different ethnic tribes, 9 types of baobab trees and of course the famous lemurs. It's teeming with 60 different species of lemurs that thrive here but are facing extinction due to deforestation. There's nothing like watching them leap through trees like ballerinas with police siren calls. The adorable bug-eyed primates show little fear of humans. Madagascar is also nature's sanctuary for bazaar hissing insects, absurdly colored chameleons, blue geckos, elephant birds, tomato frogs and other weird native creatures.
After a site inspection here last year, I designed a perfect affordable itinerary to explore the beauty of lush tropical rainforests and pristine white sand beaches. You can ride a traditional dhow boat, taste the freshest seafood, catch a whiff of vanilla plantations, shop markets, hike where the ring tail lemurs scamper, snorkel with turtles or dive coral reefs. After the verdant south, we fly north to the archipelago on Nosy Be for some island hopping from our luxury resort.
October is a great time to visit for ideal weather and whale sharks. Visitors come in autumn for the rich diversity, abundance and approachability of wildlife. This is not Costa Rica my friends, the ecosystems in "Mada" are wild and unspoiled.
Come discover some rare encounters you never knew existed in an ocean paradise. This trip is the perfect escape for adventure and relaxation. Who among you can say they've been there? Madagascar is a world apart.

“Running of the Sheep” - Extreme Provence
Chocolate, wines, goats and palaces

There’s no better vacation than glorious Provence with its historic sites, art treasures and enchanting charm. You’ve all been to Paris, but this region is the quintessential essence of what France is all about. It was the dazzling light on the countryside of terraced vineyards and fields of lavender that inspired Van Gogh and Ce’zanne. Before they arrived, the Romans left behind epic monuments. In the 20th century, Peter Mayle came to write “A Year in Provence” and the world has been coming ever since.

Today the canvas you’ll see is tiny villages, colorful markets, quaint bistros, abbeys, galleries and cathedrals. The taste is fresh, sun-kissed flavors of Provencal dishes never to be forgotten. The vibe is simplicity, purity and intimacy in a land that is eternal.
We’ve made this not only educational, but fun as well. May is the perfect time to visit when spring blossoms burst with color. And you’ll only unpack once on this vacation as we “hub and spoke” to a dozen different towns and villages.
There are so many highlights. Imagine a picnic in the middle the of a lavender field and tasting fresh cheese at a famous goat farm or walking in Cezanne's footsteps in Aix. You will taste fine chocolates from a world-renowned chocolatier. Visit the famous wine region Chateau Neuf de Papes. Climb Pont du Gard. Stroll cobbled streets to shop markets with the locals. Photograph breath-taking scenery.
You’ve heard of Spain’s (not so pleasant) Running of the Bulls. I designed this tour around an ancient festival few Americans have ever heard of. In charming St.Remy, witness the “Running of the Sheep” with clanking bells led by shepherds. This festival is a first for AFS.
This alluring land has a way of touching something primal within us. With so many magical moments, you can’t help but adore this unique Euro adventure. Come join us to experience the true Provence where the pace of life slows down enough to enjoy it. Come nourish your soul!

“Africa’s Wild Child, Dunes to Sea” - The Best of Namibia
Come explore a region where extreme landscapes collide and memorable experiences pile up even for the most seasoned safari connoisseurs. You may have seen other parts of Africa, but nothing like the stark beauty and amazing contrasts found in Namibia. Here’s a scenic wonderland with more wildlife than people! Here’s a sky that pulses with unrivaled stars for unbelievable gazing. Here time stands still.
Namibia provides southern Africa’s best game viewing where hundreds of species roam free. It’s home to the largest populations of cheetah and black rhino now. And with an expanding population of free-roaming lions, you’ll witness the world’s greatest wildlife recovery story while it’s happening.
I’ve been here before, but not on a journey like this. You’ll see pure nature at her finest with bountiful wildlife, the deepest canyons of Africa and world’s largest dunes. Some orange dunes tower a thousand feet high and can be seen from space! Try some dune bashing as 25 million watched Matt Lauer do for “The Today Show”. The vast unspoiled landscape looks otherworldly and surreal.
Discover Etosha National Park, bigger than the Serengeti, with game drives to waterholes that draw the desert-adapted elephants and animals often seen on Nat. Geo. You’ll enjoy a yacht cruise at Walvis Bay to meet the fur seals, bird and marine life. Visit a World heritage Site that is an open art gallery filled with Bushmen rock paintings. Fly over the notorious Skeleton Coast, a graveyard for ill-fated ships and seal bones that sailors referred to as “The Gates of Hell.”
We’ll visit an authentic Himba tribe, the tall nomadic people covered in red mud, and experience a way of life that hasn’t changed for centuries. Also explore urban Windhoek with its contemporary African-European fusion. You’ll feel a warm sense of hospitality throughout.
Known as “Africa’s Desert Rose”, you’ll discover one of the world’s best-kept secrets. Namibia is always an expensive destination, but we worked hard to make this particular adventure filled vacation affordable. Here is a safe and secure country that takes pride on its long history of stability.
Come join us for an ancient desert dance and soul searching journey you’ll never ever forget. Some say it’s like Africa, only better.

"Shark Alley to Tikal" Belize & Guatemala Eco-Adventure
Imagine snorkeling among docile rays and nurse sharks, tubing sacred caves and climbing a Mayan pyramid in the middle of a rainforest! This dual destination offers ruins and reefs, jungle and jaguars, beaches an d blue waters. There's also manatees, monkeys, toucans and parrots. Why is this region Prince Harry's favorite holiday spot? We think it's because it is mother nature's best kept secret. Each day will be a Kodak moment. This trip is both an education in history and a ton of thrilling fun. Belize is hot on the tourist trail 2013 for its affordability, diversity and proximity. It is graced with 185 miles of coastal waters and the second largest barrier reef system in the world. Snorkel, dive or kayak among a kaleidoscope of corral, fish, dolphins and turtles. Our AFS water-babies will love the island of Ambergris Caye. We're going high season and reserved the finer properties in advance for you.
Crossing into Guatemala, we step back in time to what is referred to as the "Soul of the Earth." Explore areas filled with legendary Mayan wonders and mysterious sites. The most dramatic is UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tikal, where ghostly temples poke through the cloud forest.
Some travelers prefer trips closer to home. Leave behind Cancun to embark on an authentic adventure filled with vibrant culture. In negotiating with many suppliers at the Belize Tourist Board Expo, I could have done this cheaper, but decided to do it right for a full and perfect Central American getaway. The value price for two countries in one cannot be beat and air is so affordable.
Reward yourself with this extraordinary escape to expand your mind and stir your soul. A warm welcome and warm Caribbean sea awaits. Belize it or not, you better "Belize" it!

Arctic Circle Safari, Lapland!
Come join us to the kingdom of snow and ice for your coolest vacation ever! The reindeers, huskies, saunas and igloos under the Northern Lights makes this an Arctic Disneyland for adults. Our past group of 36 loved this extraordinary visit to the roof of the world in winter. Thermal suits are provided to ensure you'll stay warm and cozy.
Just imagine sleeping in a futuristic glass igloo with the Aurora Borealis dancing over head. It's a travel experience like no other and the friendly Finn's love visitors. Above the Arctic Circle, Finland's Lapland unfolds with mystic scenery of snow capped mountains and untamed wilderness. It's nature in its purest form. Winter is high season here and it becomes a playground of adventure.
After a stay in uber-cool Helsinki, we fly north to Roveniemi where crowds flock for fun. In this adventure capital, our snow safari begins by donning snowsuits and driving snowmobiles over frozen rivers and valleys blanketed with snow. Meet hundreds of happy huskies at the Husky Farm for dogsledding followed by the Reindeer Farm for reindeer sleigh rides. We drive on to visit the famous Snow Hotel for a tour. Too cold to stay here so we enjoy a hot Lappish lunch in the huge Ice Restaurant. At night, it's a Snowshoe Safari in search of the Northern Lights.
We then continue by private coach to beautiful Ivalo for a stay at the new Igloo Village with countless activities, Sled down the world's longest Toboggan Slide, toast drinks with your AFS trip mates in the Ice bar and experience the world's largest Sauna which holds 100 people and a restaurant inside!
Learn about the traditions of the indigenous Sami people and their reindeer herding culture. A spirit of Christmas envelopes you here. Meet the real Father Christmas at Santa's Village. Taste the salmon and hearty Lapish cuisine under a teepee with the Samis. There's so much more.
Awaken your spirit of adventure. Come to the top of the world for a Polar Dream you'll treasure forever!
