Please, post about it. Post about how much you love the thing you love and why you love it. I keep hearing about new people I never even heard of and I was alone for ages. I know it can be intimidating. I am not saying to force yourself and cause yourself discomfort.

I post and I keep posting because I don't want people like me to feel alone. I don't want young teens thinking they are the only ones. It's all I ever wanted, to know there are others like me.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that on tumblr fandom used to be practiced very differently. now everyone fucks off to their discords or tumblr groups to discuss everything with a select few, making tags be nearly only used for posting some finished fanworks or not at all

a decade ago people didn't have tumblr groups. people didn't even have dms. if you wanted to talk to anyone about anything you had to make a post, or send an ask (which more often than not would get published and thereby become a post in the end too)

so next time you think "I have a fandom thought but I have to find a small group of hyperspecifically like-minded people to share it with in private" remember all the freaks you could be missing out on meeting by keeping the tags dead. use tags, make friends. fuck discord.

Why is "TJ/LCr mentioned they shipped Holmescest in a post with like less than 10 notes in 2015 and then proceeded to never talk about it or mention it or even reference it ever again." something that happens like, less than not often? Once is a coincidence but I have seen it happen like 5 times.

So I am reading a fic and I come across this line:

"Mycroft leaned forward until his face stopped inches from Sherlock’s"

I don't know if I just have a particularly dirty mind (okay, I know I do), but why would you type that out in a non-Holmescest fic?

For context this is Mycroft in Sherlock's mind palace who has no practical reason to be doing that. And he does it to talk about John.

My main reason is that Holmescest is a M/M ship, not a M/M/F or M/F/M ship.

There is no actual rule you can't use that word for each iteration: Sherlock/Eurus, Mycroft/Eurus, Mycroft/Sherlock or Mycroft/Sherlock/Eurus... it means Holmes incest... but why would you? There is a reason ship names exist. It's to make it easier to say and less wordy than having to type Character/Character every time. If we use the same ship name for different ships and have to ask which one the other person means or we don't ask and then have to solve a misunderstanding, it defeats the whole purpose and makes it *more* confusing. This way we just have to use Mylock/Shercroft again, when we couldn't ever decide on one in the first place, and we can't use Holmescest as it now refers to multiple ships, so we're back at square one only worse. Just call them new words. Mycroft/Sherlock was there first and existed for years before.

I don't like Eurus. If you don't realize that by now you really haven't been paying attention.

I honestly find it surprising that MindPalace!Mycroft, intimidating in his pinstripe, his battle dress, is still someone Sherlock chooses to step towards.
