Hello! This blog has steadily been declining in activity over the past month or so as I've been preparing to move out, with my birthday coming up so soon (tomorrow)(May 24th), that date is substantially here. I'm unsure of whether or not I'll be able to run this blog like I'd hope to (I haven't been) once I've moved out as this is a very large event in my life, and I've been planning for it since November of 2023. I appreciate everyone I've met and all the things I've experienced through running this blog; sometimes-rendog is a passion project, and I never plan to abandon it, but I'll definitely need time to recover after all this, and that recovery might include leaving sometimesrd behind for a little while. I feel a bit silly making this post, but I felt I should at least say something incase sometimesrd goes AWOL for a while. Just need some grace.

Meet the Galactic Crew of the starship RenTheZine!

Ghast (@kingtheghast) and Anpan (@anpanbun) are our Captain and Chief Captain! Handling the zine overview, their job is to keep this ship running no matter what!

Jayce (@lem0nayce) and Scrambled (@scrambledlikeeggs) are our engineers-- the art mods! They'll make sure to help artists build the best piece they can.

Dove (@aistandardcherry) and Lew (@liloinkoink/@driflew) are our pilots-- the writing mods! They keep our writers on track and will help snipe down any typos!

You heard that right, the RTZ: A Rendog Zine Contributor Applications are now open, and accepting both artists and writers!

The applications form will be open from today, Aprill 11th, to April 27th. Then, invites will be sent out to the selected contributors on May 2nd! You can apply separately as an artist and a writer, but will be selected only to contribute under one of the two roles. Additionally, if you're an artist, you can also apply to be the cover artist for the zine!

And if you're good at working in a short time frame, why not apply to be a pitch-hitter? In case a contributor has to call it quits unexpectedly, you'll be the one tasked to swoop in and make a piece instead!

So why not give it a shot? If you're an artist or a writer, apply here now!

hey! i'm opening commissions for writing and editing!

if you don't recognize my URL, i'm driflew and skelew on ao3. my most popular current work is the Lamplight AU on skelew, which is the account i’ve been using the most recently, but i've got quite a few works around. take a look at those links for examples of my work and the tone/content i'm best at!

💀 slots:

i've not done this before and am testing it out, so to start i'm only going to have three writing comm slots. if all goes well, i'll probably open them again once i finish, but i don't have a timeframe for how long this will take

i'll also do three editing slots, but those might refresh sooner

💀 price:

writing comms, the rate i'm thinking is 5 cents a word.

(that's $5 for 100 words, $25 for 500 words, and $50 for 1000 words)

editing comms, the rate i'm thinking is $5 for every 1000 words read

💀 what i'll write:

for fandoms, i'm definitely open to write for third life, one piece, and magnus archives. i'd be willing to hear out other fandoms i'm familiar with, like blue exorcist or certain webcomics, but might refuse if i'm not as familiar

for content, you can assume i'm willing to write something similar in content or tone to anything i've already posted. i'll write fluff, angst, character death, and i'd be willing to talk about some amounts of horror / gore, certain romance/ships

if you have questions about specifics about what i'll write, just ask!

💀 what i won't write:

poetry, nsfw (i just don't have the skillset for it), super heavy gore, ships i'm not into (as a general rule i'm not interested in incest or adult/minor)

....pretty sure this wont come up but im not writing any academic essays for you people either

i also reserve the right to just say no because i don't want to

what i'm offering is help with both copy editing and content editing.
