I should really just give up when I see that the project can't be done as I have planned.
The golden threads keep unraveling and I think, OK, it's no worse than I have seen in store bought doll clothes but now when I finally have added the elastic in the neckline and sleeves and have only one snap to sew on, I find that I have ripped the bodice seam under the left sleeve. The fabric is too unraveling and the seam allowance was too narrow.
Maybe I should gently rip out all of the upper bodice and leave it a high waisted skirt. I am not happy with how noticeable the ends of the sleeve elastics are anyway.

Saw these sanrio girlies at the supermarket today! They use the same body as the old Hello Kitty Club dolls, but their head is very smooth with almost no sculpt.
They are quite cute :3

The dress is almost finished, I just need to add elastic and snaps.
The bodice is going to be a dress in the similar style I planned for the pink fabric with gold stripes but could not do with that fabric in this scale.
I have misplaced the yellow skirt so the making of that dress is on the hold.

One single handkerchief dress finally made after weeks (months?) of hemming and hawing!
I really wanted to just sew something fun and easy so I made it sleeveless (after spending hours nitpicking my pattern ...)
I finally used some ancient rickrack and also some of the thrifted silk ribbon, though it was after 11pm when I sewed them on so it's messy as heck and I'm leaving it that way!
It needs a petticoat but I didn't wanna make one tonight.
The delicate print is a joy to the eyeballs in person, I'm not sure if my photos can convey that.
It felt awful when I took the first snip into the material. Absolutely dreadful time cutting up the sweet pretty hanky. I am gonna have to keep working on that, flexing that muscle, cause I definitely didn't get over the guilt of using "the good fabric" with these last couple projects yet 😅 Though I'm super pleased to have dared as much as I have! ✂️ ✂️ ✂️

She is pretty and I like her dress a lot. Here she is wearing the accessories from a Mini Brands Fashion surprise ball.

I bought a Barbie® Signature Barbie Basics™ doll. She has two right shoes. I checked a review to see that it is not just an intentional cost cutting measure of making just one mold. It is not. The certificate of authenticity goes especially well with this.
She also has eight plastic ties in her head, only three of these were anchoring her to the packaging.

a while ago, i watched little shop of horrors, which of course got me thinking about carnivorous plants. this one is maybe a little less of a world-conqueror than audrey, but who knows. definitely wants a bite of your sandwich, and maybe of your finger.
heads sculpted by me, the arms and tentacles are monster high parts. everything except the tentacles is bendable & poseable.

A few days ago late at night I felt the urge to crochet something. I thought I would like to crochet a black shawl for my dolls, like something Valerie from the movie "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders" wears at the start of that movie. I made a sketch without looking up what pattern the movie costume has:

and quickly abandoned it. I decided to just work some pattern out as I go. I could not find my favorite crochet hook but while looking for it I found two balls of ivory crochet thread and thought I shall make something like a vintage machine knitted shawl I have:

This is where I got the idea to make the wide edge with a simpler pattern. But I did not add fringe to this doll shawl because I made it thicker than I planned. It reminds me more of warm woolen shawls than this thin shawl. If I'll make a modified version it will have fringe and I will try to embroider it with colourful flowers if it won't make the shawl too thick to lay well on doll shoulders.

A plan for some future doll dress. I am not sure yet which exact colours to use but I think maybe the sleeves and the underskirt will be white and the embroidered edge of the over skirt maybe light green or dark yellow. I keep thinking about the Rapunzel Barbie's dress and Disney Rapunzel's dress looking at it so I will not be using purple.
The designs of the lace are placeholders, I would like to buy some lace for it in suitable scale so the final design would depend on what lace I will find. Though I am thinking now that for around a ⅙ scale doll embroidering some eyelet lace for this dress would not take all that much time.
I was so happy with the feather stitch on the last doll garment I made that I want to use it again, this time as green wines with some rose buds.
