It’s really hard to hate someone for being different when you’re too busy laughing together.

From season 1: “Because Crowley had something no other demon had and definitely not Hapsur. An imagination”
I love Crowley because he's so aware of what Heaven, Hell, the world are really like, but he gently guides Azi through moral dilemmas and lets him find out harsh truths for himself, supporting along the way, but never forcing his opinions.
I love Crowley because he does little snort laughs and cheesy grins. He bounces around all silly-like, unabashedly himself. He has such an infectious smile.
Because his style is always changing, not because he wants to be with the latest fashion (he's always a bit behind) but because he loves exploring and experimenting with his looks.
Because despite millennia of being told he's evil, he's still a sweetie with a heart of gold.
Because he has a vast imagination and enormous will power. He's creative and adores human inventions, taking precious care of his Bentley for over 90 years.
Because he is so fiercely loyal and protective, not just of Azi, but of humans.
Because he's lived such a long, difficult life and he still finds so much joy in the every day, he's still an optimist.
Because he has endured immense abandonment and suffering, loss of identity, cruelty and fear - and despite it all, he's still kind.
Because he's immensely intelligent and wise and light-hearted and good.
Because even though he wouldn't believe it, he is so worthy of a happy ending.
There is such a special place in my heart for Crowley.

So on my last rewatch I noticed how Aziraphale is gently amused (though never condescending) to Muriel and their "I'm a human police officer" routine.
But then, in the very same episode, without a trace of irony or self-awareness, our sweet angel dons his very best 1949 journalist cosplay and announces "I'm what's known as a newspaper man!"
He is just as excited, and almost as naive, as Muriel here -- down to not reading the big THE RESURRECTIONIST sign on the wall of the pub. "Gimme the facts!" He quips giddily. Might as well be saying "Wot's all this then?"
He's been here six thousand years but he is still an Eldritch being in a human suit and a giant goofball with no interest in keeping up with the times and it is fascinating and lovable that he can recognize Muriel's ridiculousness and not see his own.
How very like all of us.
[ Image Description: Two GIFs, the first of Muriel in a solid white old-fashioned British police officer uniform gleefully saying, "'Ello, 'ello, 'ello. What's all this then?" at Aziraphale's door. The other of Aziraphale dressed as a stereotypical old-fashioned journalist excitedly asking, "Is this the Resurrectionist public house?" End ID. ]

Honestly not only is Laios autistic but Shuro is obviously from a high-context society where nothing is ever said directly. I don’t think Shuro hates him “that much” he is just tired as fuck and believes Laios tortures him intentionally. sad tbh
Shuro talks a lot of shit for someone who just subjected Laios to one of the funniest examples of emotional whiplash I’ve ever seen.
He went from this:
To this:
Within the span of what?? An hour?? Less??
Yeah, sure. It’s completely normal to swing violently from “you disgust me I hate everything about you,” to “if you’re in danger ring this bell, and I’ll immediately get someone to to transport you to my country—where I have a great amount of power and influence—so that you can be safe forever.”
Poor Laios just went through a mixed signals marathon at the hands of this man, can you possibly blame him for misinterpreting Shuro’s behavior up to this point??

maybe unpopular opinion but probably one of the least useful pieces of advice I've ever got as an auDHD person to the question of "how tf does one make friends" was to go and join clubs/groups that do hobbies I enjoy. Not only does this not actually answer the question of how to make friends (yknow, how to approach people, how to start a conversation, how to appear friendly enough that they don't immediately reject you for existing, how to actually keep them as friends later on, etc), but also the chance of me choosing to force myself into the discomfort of "making smalltalk with random strangers" is absolutely nonexistent when the alternative of engaging with a hyperfixation is not only socially acceptable but even encouraged

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

Good omens might accidentally be one of the best works when it comes to criticizing power structures and I mean it. Because no matter how good Aziraphel is, how well intentioned and dedicated, he still has to realize that Heaven will never work - it is made to be above humans and to impart rules that are alien to the real reality of being on Earth and Hell can only exist because of Heaven’s very structural demand for casting whoever asks too many questions. He knows his “best friend” love of his life did nothing wrong, even without the details, but he thinks Crowley was am accident. Believes he can patch up the system to include him. Crowley knows better, he has offered the fruit of knowledge after all. He knows his fall, no matter how much it hurt, was not a bug but a feature. And we also see that there is no one person (for now at least) fully responsible and evil and one shot could solve it all.
I love this. I’ve been the Azi when I worked in a corporation that grinded me to depression and threw me with the pandemic post-crash like a washed cloth. I did believe for years we could fix it with post-its and retrospective meetings. No one was evil but the bad was mold growing in the walls. My bf has been a freelance for years because of these things but at the start I kept arguing for the corporate structure cause I was young and naive and autistic. I know I am heavily projecting here but idc this website is my private journal and yall are just invited to peek love u

Another thing I loved about this realization myself is that this probably pushed Marcille to believe in her dream more and accept the DM role. Because it solidified that everything would be better if all races ages the same.
realizing thistle never actually reached the maturation point for an elf is so. eye opening. especially bc he actually witnessed both delgal's birth and the birth of delgal's son (AND HIS GRANDSON!!). as a human reader it's so easy to be lulled into thinking he's so old and marcille's remark of him being a child came so fast it's so easily forgotten
like i definitely think the golden kingdom and delgal himself never knew let alone be able to perceive thistle as an immature person. bc in their years he's just so old. and i think growing up surrounded with all tallmen also gave thistle false perceptions of how mature he was and it played a part in him taking on the responsibility of rejecting death for the whole kingdom. it's a brilliant and raw display of what age discrepancy actually means in the world of dungeon meshi

im yapping but its such a breath of fresh air to see how mature dunmeshi can be (even if they are wacky at times)
they don’t fuss about sharing beds, undressing and bathing around each other. in most shows or anime, they make a big deal about washing and underwear, especially if it involves a lady.
it just really feels like they’re a bunch of roommates living together or a dysfunctional family going camping lmao
