I finally got my mom to start watching She-Ra with me after a billion years of begging and we got through the first six episodes and she loves it but I must share some of the highlights.

Adora expresses surprise the Horde is evil

My mom: What has she been? Living in a cube???

Mom: Adora has a twin and she should be able to sense him.

Me: Yeah, but in this version she's legally unable to have a twin.

Mom: Still!

When Madam Razz showed up she said, "Is this like... an Orko?"

then sometime later She-Ra did a cool move and mom was like, "Oo, she's Nemo!"

Me: "...the fish?"

Then it took far too many minutes for her to get out that she was trying to say Neo from the Matrix 😂

Mom: Didn't Hordak used to be, like, a pig?

Bow is her favorite which I predicted because my mom, like her daughter before her, is always a sucker for the character type Very Nice Boy Who Is Stressed.

Relating to previous post, yeah I get it, the boys are always way more meow-meow'd and woobified in any fandom... but i like to deal with these things in a case by case basis.

Especially when talking in a fandom like shera which has 2 and a half male side characters and one of them is a psychologically healthy black boy, so his fandom is ultra niche, and the other is hordak the middle aged alien clone, and he has just as many people who despise him as he has fans. So yeah some people are really weird about Hordak, but mostly in their hatred for other characters and not their draw to Hordak himself. There are also other shera fans who are exactly the same but aren't Hordak fans. There are some Catradora fans who fucking hate every other character.

Anyway. Entrapdak is good. Isolating Entrapta from every other character so she and Hordak can run off together without him having to face anything he's done is. Uh. Bad spiteful fanfiction. Is this unique to that fandom? Absolutely not. Not even with Entrapta specifically.

If you want me to point out an annoying boy, look at Hunter from owl house. Three to five main characters who are not white boys and he somehow gets more screentime and fandom than all of them combined.

entradak positivity... month? the fucks going on in the she-ra fandom?

ive responded to an ask like this one (probably from yourself?) when i was in my very first month of shera fandom back in 2021, where i said it was "a bit weird to make these events for m/f pairings", and i ended up being called biphobic on a youtube video. i am bisexual. so i am really apprehensive about responding to this ask especially as this is now my 1st rank fandom.

anyway let people do what they want. we got over the whole "ship week gatekeeping" thing several years ago. i have ptsd from dealing with vrisrezi fans' massive hatred of davekat in homestuck fandom and their (our?) dismissal of anything davekat related, including davekat week. so i find that a lot of people hate it when male characters in general get this attention. whether it's gay or straight doesn't seem to matter to these people.

there is also legit a lot of biphobia in shera fandom, not just aimed at entrapdak but also aimed at glimbow.

the worst case scenario: oh no! people are drawing more of a good pairing from the show. how tragic
