âSo youâve known Ace since childhood???â Yamato had to imagine what itâs like to grow up as a semi-normal child with good friends to support you through the hardships... Of course, he was happy Ace had love and support. Brothers are a wonderful thing to have, arenât they? A bond like that was worth striving for, Yamato hoped it wasnât too late for him to have such connections with someone... He had the freedom to do it now, he just needed to find it.
âI just canât stop saying it, you know... It just makes me so happy, in a kinda bittersweet way... Maybe itâs silly to say thank you, but Iâm glad there is someone to carry on his kind of legacy when I couldnât be there to do anything... Thanks Sabo... Now thatâs all said and done, would you suffer me to teach me more about that legacy? I still wish I had more time with him...â

It was... an oppressively feeling to say the least. A heart of malice, writhing and thundering beneath the surface. With each beat, it hungered for oblivion. Yamato read the hearts of pokemon, so why was it that he heard this disjointed chorus humming with this woman? It brought a shadow of unease upon him, as if a predator was watching and biding its time for its chance to seize what it desires most.
Ah- but to Inana, it may appear that this strange guy is staring at her with wide orange eyes for no particular reason. Beside him was his Arcanine, sitting by ever so politely, oblivious to the hungering void that lingered.

âTell me what itâs like in Paldea!â He had considered running off there next. Although, legality became an issue considering he had pokemon non-native to the region. The law never stopped him before, however. And there was also the issue of him not knowing Paldean- but that was fine! Pokemon were always reliable translators, he would always ask them. âThatâs the place with the academy, isnât it? Did you go there???â
Yamato had been home schooled. Of course, his father never allowed him anywhere public previously. In fact, he still doesnât. But Yamato was at that age now where he refused to be controlled. Imagine the sort of things he could learn about from a place like that? He wanted to know all there was to know! Exploring a new region was always his favorite thing to do. So when he found out Silva had been there, he just HAS to ask about it!

Nervously logs onto this blog.
hi. its me. the yamato lover, kittu. i left my one piece blogs in limbo for the longest time because i simply got busy and lost interest in one piece. i never left tumblr rp though, and have been rping all this time over on a bunch of pokemon blogs connected to my main pokemon blog @shepherd-tothestars! plus the occasional discord rp (which has mainly been pokemon too)
but well its that time of year again to get back on here. iâll be writing yamato again here and also be on @dad-of-samurai and @dirtyandbeautyâ.
that being said, i am in no way caught up with one pieceâs manga right now. i fell out of interest during wanoâs arc (although i do know how it concludes.) so if you send any asks that have anything to do with most recent events in the manga, iâll have no idea what youâre talking about until i get around to reading it.
i am excited to write my favorite dog boy again! and my other idiots.

mxmoriaâ:
Atria nearly got blown back from the gust of wind he created in his sudden taking off, prompting her to laugh at how eager he had seemed to hurry off.
With an excited chirp, she herself took off, though up towards the sky instead. Atria could see the destruction he was leaving behind in his wake and while she shouldâve been a little miffed about it, she just seemed happy that he was going to get to eat!
Another flap of her wings and she was zooming off after him, keeping her gaze around the perimeter of the forest around them as well, keeping an eye out for anything that dared try and hurt her new friend-
With no more trees to block his way, Yamato was already stomping through the lake waters. At the command of his destructive force, the water around him flew into the air, fish among those parted waves. Claws scraped the air, digging into their scaled flesh and ripping them to and fro. Blue waters turned scarlet, the beast feasted tonight. It was a mercy that his fury was directed at mere fish.
When the fish fled, he followed. All through the lake, one after another, his hunger was not easily satisfied. Atria should probably be more concerned about the surrounding wildlife than anything being able to actually harm this... new friend of hers.

Atria had meant to respond to the first thing he said, but the mention of water had her feathers fluffing up.
âThereâs a lake! Not that far from here, a little bit to the east.â She gasped, âIt has the fattest fish you could dream of! Itâs my favorite food.â Atria said, her hands fidgeting at her sides.
âThatâs perfect. Iâll go straight there. Thank you!â His voice sure was loud. It appeared he was getting rather excited over it. The ponds in the city parks were all too small, but out here he could really get in there and wrangle those slippery things. Without another moment of hesitation, the demon was thundering right past her. She might feel a gust of wind with his passing as he was taking large strides to his new destination. There were deep rumblings made throughout the woods, the sounds of frightened animals fleeing away as entire trees were brought down for they barred his straight path. Is she serious about befriending this thing?
The fattest fish? He just couldnât wait for that-

Atria let out a breath as he let go, shaking out her arm carefully and rubbing her wrist. Yet, seeing the ashamed expression made her heart ache and she shook her head.
âN-No! Itâs okay, really. Iâm not mad, I know youâre hungry and so I know itâs hard to control yourself.â She said quickly. âItâs my fault for getting so close to you, honestly.â Atria said.
She nodded again, making a gesture behind her. âThis forest is quite big, so youâll be able to find all kinds of things to eat. Iâll be high up to make sure nothing bad happens. But you can call out my name if you need something, okay?â Atria smiled.
âThe fault is mine. I made myself out to appear less threatening. It could have been taken as a trap to lure you... Not that it was my intention. You are not human, but I think hurting or killing you would go against my morals.â He spoke as he gazed down at the little bird. She really was tiny... Or rather, he was big. It would be so easy...
â...Is there water around here? I mean like a lake filled with delicious birds- fish. Or a river, or anything that might have those....â

Atria let out a weak cooing sound, attempting to tug her wrist from Yamatoâs grip.
âO-Okay, I know youâre hungry, I offered to let you hunt here, you know! T-Thereâs a lot of tasty stuff around here!â She said, squeezing one of her eyes shut as the squeezing grew too painful.
But she didnât want to hurt him! If she hurt him, heâd leave, she didnât want him to leave so soon!
â...SORRY!â He nearly roared, immediately reeling away from the poor harpy. Given another second, he may have shattered her entire arm. Ah- that human illusion didnât exactly last for long. He couldnât help himself, it had been all day at his job and this was typically his time to âunwindâ as heâd describe it...
â...â Yamato breathed a sigh to collect himself, his gaze turned downward. Almost ashamed... âI am sorry. It is my own weakness. I try very hard around humans, but when I hunger I have a difficult time controlling my violent urges... Iâll leave you be, I must find something.â

âYamaâŚtoâŚâ She repeated his name quietly, before an abrupt gust of wind and she was suddenly in front of him, still somehow hovering off the ground as she kept them face to face.
Her hands touched his cheeks and she laughed, âItâs nice to meet you, Yamato! My name is Atria. I think youâre great no matter what you look like!â The harpy nodded firmly.
âYou think so? I live with the people, but I do not show them that side. Most would not agree with you, although I never cared for that opinion unless it meant threatening my life for it.â Yamato could get a good look at her now. She really was just a human with bird features... Nothing all too complicated there. Why would humans be threatened of this? Was it the talons? That was the main source of danger he could see, but she seemed all too nice. Without thinking, his hand had grasped around her wrist as she was touching him.
âI think.... You look... delicious... no matter what you look like...â Ah, his grip was tightening, nearly crushing now- Yamato was drooling again, those fangs of his quickly resurfacing.

âYou are?!â Atria gasped, forgoing the reservations before as she lowered down a bit more, closing the distance between them with a studious gaze.
âI didnât know Oni could be human too? I guess itâs not that common then..â She said, yellow eyes staring firmly at Yamato. âHumans are always scared of me when I lead them out of the forest. But some are still nice to me, I can tell theyâre still scared, but they still have the strength to be nice. I like those kinds of humans.â She nodded slowly.
Itâs a complicated matter for me. Iâll show you...â Yamato grumbled. It wasnât always easy, but it was easier for him to approach anyone when he wasnât showing this face...
To think there was something human under it all. It was unbelievable if one wasnât there to witness it. And those he knew him well, or had the illusion of knowing, would never thing that the childish man was a monster. As his appearance had softened, so had his voice.
âYouâll meet none other halfbreed, there is no other oni possessing a human heart. I am Yamato.â

âYou could, but you havenât!â Atria pointed out, flapping her wings to take her just a bit higher. âBesides, Iâd probably try to claw your eyes out if you tried, these things arenât just for show, you know!â She huffed, making a show of gesturing to her legs, and namely the talons at her feet.
âIâm not afraid of many things, really. Maybe thatâs just how I am.â Atria said with a little shrug. âHumans, though. Those guys are afraid of everything! Itâs why I donât have friendsâŚâ She pouted.
âYou donât know...â Yamato had some reservations. Of course humans were afraid... On their own, they were weak. They were prone to emotions, their vices. Demons preyed on them, some living in total ignorance of the threat their lives were under by selfish beasts. And yet he shared in that weakness... he shared in that selfishness.
âI am also human.â He finally stated. â...Somewhat.â

âIf they refuse to leave, I do.â Atria said casually. âItâs my territory, I can do what I want.â She shrugged, unable to help but snicker at how loud he was, keeping the distance between them like this for now.
âI havenât met an Oni before either! Iâve heard a lot about them, though. I can see why people think youâre scary. But I donât think youâre scary!â She nodded.
Yamato had his own personal morals when it came to killing humans, but he canât fault her for defending herself. Harpies werenât a type of demon, were they? He really didnât know anything about them.
âYou should be afraid. There are no others that would stand here talking to you. Theyâd sooner crush you before you can bat an eye. I could do it right now if I really wanted to...â But of course, he didnât want to do that. As much as the demon may be inclined to, Yamato wasnât.

âNo! No hunters. I take care of them before they can get too far.â Atria said with a proud cross of her arms.
Though, she had to admit, the oniâs confusion was cute!
âWhat, have you never met a harpy before?â She asked with a curious tilt of her head, lowering just a little as if letting Yamato get a better look at her. âYou look hungry? You can hunt here if you want, thereâs a lot of tasty things here.â Atria smiled widely.
âDo you kill them?????? Are hunters common????â His voice was rather loud now. He was a bit worried, and she should refrain from drawing closer still...
Lots of tasty things here. Like you. Yamato shook his head. âNo... I havenât met anyone like you before. You are brave or foolish to speak to me...â

mxmoriaâ:
Atria knew how aggressive Oni could be, she had heard plenty of stories before of the things they were capable of.
That didnât mean it would stop her from trying to befriend one, though.
That also didnât mean she was dumb enough to let one within arms reach, just in case.
As it was, the moment she had caught sight of the Oni again, she took to the air again with a big flap of her wings. Atria remained in the clearing, but remained out of reach of the Oni. At least she hoped it was out of reach.
The harpy grinned, waving down at the Oni with an excited motion.
âI never thought Iâd see one of you in my forest! Welcome!â Atria laughed.
âYours...? Youâre a... bird person???â It was definitely confused. Ah- was it drooling? Onis werenât known for intelligence either. Bird was food.... but person was not food. Half food? Augh, he had been so hungry. Yamato wiped at his face-
âDamn. I thought... there was a hunter or something! What is... What are...â He was trying to clear his thoughts, but it wasnât always easy. Especially when his company smelled so tasty. No! It was a girl! A woman up there, right??? Thatâs not a snack. And she was so very excited to see him. He wondered why. Wouldnât it be... concerning to have a strong demon invading your territory?

mxmoriaâ:
To think an Oni would make itâs way into her forest!
Oh, Atria had never been more excited to play.
Usually it would only be humans that wandered too deep into the confusing landscape of her forest, and she would kindly lead them out, as many were too afraid of her to play too much. Even the children!
But an Oni? They couldnât be scared of her, right?
Wings fluttered excitedly, puffing up for a few moments as she watched the Oniâs movement from a tall tree in the distance. The talons of her feet dug into the branch she was perched on, before she pushed off, taking to the sky as she flew through the treetops.
She aimed for a clearing that the Oniâs path would lead it to and she landed swiftly, bouncing lightly between her feet as her wings fluttered.
âOni!â She called out into the trees, hearing the oni getting closer, yellow eyes wide and silted pupils slightly enlarged.
It froze. Unnatural, a moment of... apprehension? Fear? It had not meant to encounter anyone out here. Had he been... followed without his notice somehow? Would he turn to find another blade pointed his way? Confusion and concern, it scanned the area all around it to find no one... No human? What was it? He thought he had heard birds flying away, he hadnât seen any either... Huh???
There was... in fact... a very large bird in the sky. Ah- it was already flying away. But where did the voice come from? There werenât talking birds now... were there? None of the birds he ever snacked on talked back to him, anyway. Was it looking for revenge for all the fallen pigeons heâs gotten his hands on? Yamato was unsure. Curiosity may be getting the better of him as he pushed onward through the shrubbery to arrive where she had gone.
âA bird...â Was it really a bird? He was gaining on it now. For all his size, he was terribly fast as well. Nothing on land could outrun him. What a grotesque creature that harbored a deep, guttural voice. Onis werenât exactly known to be talkative. They were more the... âroar and smashâ kind of foe that killed you before you got a word in with it. The bird had better be cautious. It may be tempted to leap and grab at it with greedy fingers, clamping the hollow bones and pulling it into a gaping maw of malice. ...Sure, he was hungry, but he can hold that sort of thought for now, couldnât he?
