thinking about when team sonic racing was announced and the first teaser they showed for it had the opening instrumental part of green light ride in it and people were like analyzing it trying to prove its a crush 40 song because it sounded like something theyd make . and we hadnt gotten a new crush 40 song in a sonic game in almost a decade at that point so it would be so cool if they came back . and then another trailer came out that had the vocals in it and it Was crush 40 and everyone was losing their minds because crush 40 was back . and then they just never made another song for a sonic game after that . very anticlimactic
#to be fair not many sonic games that actually have vocal tracks have come out since then. but still .#also technically crush 40 hasnt been completely absent jun senoue still does work for sonic like as recently as shadow generations#but like . you know what i mean. we havent been getting johnny gioelis vocals or songs released under the crush 40 name#other than the occasional remix or cover of an existing song. or an old song just being used again in general .#but that doesnt count im talking about new original songs

funny that they decided to officially announce the spongebob and tmnt and avatar dlcs for sonic racing crossworlds now when i was just thinking about what characters might make it into the game as dlc earlier today
#i already knew about all the ones that just got announced because they got leaked a little while ago but still#i was mostly thinking about who could be the rest of the free dlc and i alreay knew it wouldnt be them#because my prediction was that the free characters would mostly be sonic and sega characters#and the paid dlc would mostly be non-sega crossovers#because that just made sense based on what we already saw/knew
