the fact that knuckles is one of the most universally loved sonic characters and the announcement of this series was seen as an epic win but now that its out ive heard mostly negative or mixed opinions on it . thats how you know they did somehting wrong

i hate being overly negative about a new sonic project because. while im not against criticizing them and will criticize them when i see fit. i still try to find the positives in everything sonic even the games that are widely labelled as irredeemable garbage. because i love sonic and i hate it when sonic is the punching bag of the internet and i do genuinely believe that every piece of sonic media has at least some good qualities but like. the knuckles series really isnt very good im sorry people are right about this one . and i say this as someone who likes the sonic movies and thought knuckles was awesome in sonic 2 . where did we go wrong as a society

#andthere IS some good stuff in there. but its not enough for me to confidently say the entire show is good. does that make sense ...#like the good stuff was knuckles and sonic tails and maddie #and sonic tails and maddie were only in the show for like 5 minutes max and then disappeared into the void forever #and knuckles is supposed to be the protagonist but the second wade shows up the plot starts revolving aroudn him instead #to the point where knuckles is barely even in the second half of the show #and also a nonzero amount of the good knuckles moments are just him standing around looking cute while nothing interesting happens #its not his fault hes doing his best . its wade and his family drama who are dragging everything down #not to sound like one of those annoying people who gets mad every time a human has any level of plot relevance in a sonic thing #but god. there is TOO MUCH WADE in this show #i did think episode 4 was kinda hilarious despite being wade centric though just because of how absurd it was #but other than that . idk. i dont really care for wade as the protagonist. get this man away from knuckles right NOW !!!

knuckles series spoilers like actual spoilers not just me vaguely talking about my feelings

i cant believe they put iblis in the sonic movies before amy . what timeline are we in . sorry i was gonna hold out for a litlte bit on saying anything that could be an actual spoiler but i literally cant stop thinking about Giant Iblis Puppet Jumpscare . also for people who didnt actually watch it and are reading the posts about it this happens when wade is knocked out and sent to the magic ghost dimension and meets pachacamac and theres a musical number where wade is in a knuckles costume acting out knuckles' life so far and the giant iblis puppet shows up because apparently knuckles has fought iblis before??? and the iblis puppet is holding a laptop singing about facebook marketplace. im not lying i couldnt even make this up if i tried

also when i say "damn cant believe iblis got in before amy" i understand that amy would have been harder to incorporate its just wild that this happened. does that make sense. idk

#or maybe it was just a dream sequence that wasnt actually part of knuckles past i dont fucking KNOWWW anymore #and the pirate site i was watching on isnt working rn so i cant go back and check #on one hand i dont understand why they would make that into a knuckles thing. that has nothing to do with him #but on the other . this is one of those scenes that was kinda hilarious to me because of how ridiculous the whole thing is #like the thing i mentioned before of not really liking wade and wishing he wasnt the protagonist #but some of his scenes in this show being like a car crash you cant look away from because of how weird and unexpected they are #i mean this Was intended to be a comedic scene but you know #knuckles series spoilers #idk how to tag this. i mean its under the readmore so youre choosing to look at it

basically wade being a focus kind of sucks and id rather be watching knuckles my friend knuckles or perhaps even sonic or tails or maddie or anyone else but some of the stuff involving wade is so insane that its like a car crash you cant look away from . you know.

#i pirated that shit Btw just so we're clear. also gonna talk about it a little bit in the tags #nothing too spoilery but also might not wanna read if you want to go in knowing absolutely nothing? idk #anyway he WAS a main character still he was present for a decent amount of the first couple episodes #but the amount of screentime he gets just starts dropping after that . hes barely there at all in the second half ???#and it feels like theres a lot of scenes mostly focusing on wade and his problems and not near as many for knuckles and his whole deal #overall it feels more like a wade show with knuckles in it than a knuckles show with wade in it. which sucks #and human characters having plot relevance isnt the problem here i dont mind human characters at all i think they can be really fun #its the fact that the human characters are taking over the story and spotlight when the show is called knuckles #and all the marketing makes it look like knuckles is the main focus #and i also would have preferred if they just went with a differnet character to be knuckles' human friend #because i dont particulraly care about wade. and the knuckles (and sonic and tails) i know would not be friends with cops </3 #well at least the story wasnt knuckles training wade to be a better cop like a lot of people were expecting but thats like.the bare minimum #also aside from the issues relating to knuckles' screentime (or lack of screentime) i thought the ending was unsatisfying #regardless of all that though there WERE some parts i enjoyed or found kind of funny or whatever. because knuckles so cutesy as always #knuckles being a cute little guy is the most important part of the show actually #and i liked the parts with sonic tails and maddie even if they were only there for like 5 minutes #(i really wish those three had gotten more screentime. i feel like they could have easily worked in at least one more scene with them)#and its a minor thing but the opening sequence is cute. was honestly expecting just a title card or something #overall the show is just . kind of okay i guess. not the worst thing ive ever seen but still disappointing ? idk how to explain..#my expectations also werent very high in the first place #so maybe im being a bit more generous than i would have been otherwise. idk #and i definitely would not recommend this to anyone who already dislikes the sonic movies . youll probably hate this more #like people who thought the human characters got too much screentime in the second movie would lose their minds if they saw this

Part of me wonders, since I love love love! Halloween and Ive been binging Halloween music, if they'll do the obvious choice selection of having a weresonic wearing a varsity jacket and sneakers in reference to the popular teen wolf look for Sonic Dash/Forces Battle for Halloween. Plus it'd be cute, and it wouldn't go against any mandates. Also I miss werehog, also, very important to note.

omg little outfit for werehog would be so cuteeeeee i feel like its not very likely though considering werehog is already a variant of sonic. but then again they did a variant of lancelot who is technically a variant of shadow and also a variant of movie knuckles who is a variant of knuckles and like 3 different versions of super sonic so i guess its not impossible

#i think alt outfits for werehog sonic would be really cool now that im thinking about it ...#thatd be a way to get some extra use out of those unique animations they had to make for werehog anyway #(as far as i know most alt versions of existing characters are just reskins)#put some clothes on that beast #asks

shadow having 2 dads is one of the funniest little sonic lore tidbits to me not because i think the idea of someone having 2 dads (or 2 moms for that matter) is something that should be laughed at or anything its just like. diversity win! the ultimate lifeform has 2 dads. and one is a human scientist and the other is an evil alien overlord. and theyre divorced

#and then the alien dad fucked off to do whatever immediately after shadow was created #and when he came back shadow just killed him. because he sucks. sonic lore is so awesome #to me gerald and black doom are one of those pairs of characters where they were never actually together but theyre still divorced

i dont even know enough about what people are doing with sonic.exe these days to have an actual opinion on the concept itself but wow am i tired of it flooding sonic tags on like every site I DONT CAREEEEEEEE
