Just watched his interview again the part where he says "It was hard emotionally and mentally. I couldn't find a motivation to push through. (Winning a trophy and deciding to leave) was refreshing and gave me a motivation to run back on the pitch" stuck to me

He also said his decision to leave spurs was made long ago, not recently but we are all assuming a year ago.

I might be reaching but due to the legal case and everything, I think he wanted to retire completely and leave everything behind but that trophy made him turn his decision. I don't know him personally yes but I do know that sonny I know wouldn't say he's too drained to push through mentally and emotionally...

Is that why this last match at spurs so much felt like his retirement? Is that why I cannot stop crying watching all the clips back?

I might be reading too much but it looks like the club is scrapping armband off of sonny while all the players including cuti is saying sonny is still my captain no matter what. And if the club is actually taking his armband away from him by reducing his playtime, by actually making anyone else wear it...I'm just speechless. Ten years he's been at this club for ten years, been through everything together ups and downs all that finals, all the games, all the moments, he's put everything he's got, his youth, his talent, his dedication and especially the love he has for this club when everybody around him said he won't win anything in this club, and when he finally lifted the tropy in this shirt after agonising years, just simply because he's leaving the club is actually making him feel like he's not worthy of the armband? The person I fell in love had not one ounce of self doubt in him, in this club and the last 2 years, all I've seen is this club deliberately trying so hard to make him doubt his talent, his skill, his leadership. They never did with Lloris nor with harry kane but they've been so fucking cruel to my sonny. And it hurts me that the most talented, most humble but fierce, most dedicated and hard-working person I've ever seen in my whole entire life even for a second doubt if he's worthy of wearing that armband because nobody not a single living creature on earth is more worthy and nothing on the planet is going to make him doubt himself. The countless minutes he's played wearing the shirt, the least they can do is let him have his last moment with the fans in peace and tottenham has failed in every single way and just for that I'm praying for the downfall of this club. And cuti romero, I'm saying this from bottom of my heart, don't make a single noise and run from that club if you get a chance. I've grown really fond of you, and you deserve better because I know the second sonny leaves, you're gonna be the target of this fanbase and be the scapegoat no matter your performance, and I don't want you to get that kindof treatment on anyone especially you so run the second you get a chance.
