interrupted kisses

jae fumbled with his house keys as jeonghan continued to press kisses down his neck, not caring if someone decided to walk out into the hallway and saw the pair of them, and he really didnt care if jae never found his key. lust had overrode any of his senses, he was overwhelmed in the feeling and the thought of the man he had yearned for for so long, that he couldnt get himself to overthink about the consequences they may face.

jeonghan wanted jae, more than anything. he loved him, he loved him ever since their first meeting, when he still had glasses and when his hair was overgrown. he loved him even when he was extremely awkward and shy, rarely going anywhere unless his sister dragged him along. he found everything about the man so endearing, so captivating.

when jeonghan had first held jae’s hand over the table only a few nights ago, jae hadn’t been able to stop thinking about him. no matter how hard he tried to repress his feelings, they had always came bubbling back up his throat. jeonghan had made his insides feel like mush and his legs feel like jelly. he had made him feel like he was a love sick teenager, giggling with excitement when jeonghan merely just glanced at him.

jae pressed the man against the wall gently once he had opened the door, glueing his own lips against jeonghan’s once he kicked the door shut with his foot. his lips had tasted like the strawberry icecream he was eating just seconds ago in the apartment’s garden, and he swore that he could taste his vanilla chapstick as he pulled on jeonghan’s bottom lip, making the man whine slightly. jae wrapped his arms around jeonghan’s waist before walking both of them to his bedroom, groaning when jeonghan had tugged onto his hair, trailing kisses down his jawline and onto his neck.

“please don’t leave any hickies,” jae whined as he threw his bedroom door open, shutting it again with his foot before laying down jeonghan on his mattress ever so gently. he was always gentle with jeonghan, it wasn’t that he saw him as fragile, that wasn’t it at all. he wanted to take care of him, to make him feel relaxed and make him feel loved, he cared for him so passionately, he noticed ever little thing about jeonghan. and it made him fall even more in love with him, but he had never found a time to speak his confession out loud.

“i’d never drop you, love.” jae whispered out as he unbuttoned his shirt, smiling when jeonghan hurriedly pushed the silk fabric off his broad shoulders and veiny arms, his arms wrapping around jae's neck almost instantly once the fabric hit the floor, pulling him back into a kiss. both of them giggled as jae landed onto the bed with an oomph, and they were still smiling while jae had pulled jeonghan into his lap, tracing circles with his thumb on his waist. they had only pulled away for a breath of air, but when they had made eye contact, kissing each other was pushed into the back of each other’s minds as they stared into each other’s eyes.

jeonghan's eyes were always the most beautiful sight to jae, he adores the way they glistened in the sunlight. jeonghan was a work of art to jae, he was a masterpiece. even the flaws he wore were so beautiful to jae, and he hated that he couldn’t see how beautiful he was to him.

now is the time to do it, jae thought to himself as he continued to look up into jeonghan’s captivating eyes, tell him you love him.

it felt time was speeding up again, and a rush was sent through his body, making his heart and head pound at a furious pace. he had to act now, he had to tell jeonghan that he loved him, because when would there be such perfect timing?

as soon as jae had parted his mouth to speak, his bedroom door as been thrown open, a scream following the bang shortly after, the voice that was owned by no other than kim yuri, jae’s little sister, letting out a mantra of apologies as she quickly threw the door shut once more.

jae looked from the door back up to jeonghan, who had his eyes blown wide and his eyebrows raised from shock, and jae had allowed squeezed his eyes in response. oh, he was sure going to get a mouthful from yuri. not only did he forget to mention to his sister that him and jeonghan moved in together, but he had also forgotten to tell her that the two of them had a...thing, going on.

“i guess...i guess i should go check on her?” jae questioned, awkwardly clearing his throat as he sat up, slowly sliding jeonghan off his lap. he cursed yuri in the back of his mind for interrupting them, not only did she cock-block him, but she also made him miss the opportunity to tell jeonghan that he loved him.

jae sluggishly threw on his silk button up again, buttoning up until his chest was covered, not bothering to smooth out the wrinkles or his hair before he left his room, finding yuri sitting on his couch with her head in her hands, clearly embarrassed. if he walked in on her and yuqi making out, he would for sure be embarrassed too, but thankfully, he hasn’t experienced that embarrassment yet.

“was there something that you needed?” jae asked, walking around the couch and sitting down next to his sister, raising his eyebrows when yuri didn’t say anything. “come on, i know you didn’t come to your older brothers house for no reason. what’s wrong?” jae continued, biting his lip when yuri still didn’t budge. he was starting to get more worried, he didn’t know if she was silent because something had happened, or if she was silent because she was still embarrassed on walking in on jae and jeonghan.

“you’re probably replaying what you just saw...arent you?” jae asked, chuckling slightly when yuri nodded slowly, then throwing herself against the couch and groaning, hiding her face in her hands. “just forget about it, next time knock, would you?”

“next time put a sign on your door that says ‘do not disturb, i’m grinding on my boyfriend’.” yuri huffed, rolling her eyes when jae had only laughed, shaking his head as yuri slouched further in her seat. “you better not expect me to knock...i’m the second youngest. of course i’m not going to knock.” yuri sassed, sticking her tounge out at jae childishly when he looked over at her, only making him laugh more.

“i don’t know if this is coming from you choosing to be a brat, or if this is coming from mom and dad not letting you have a door growing up.” jae chuckled, smirking when yuri had only flipped his off and got up, walking towards the front door.

“i’ll leave you and jeonghan alone, call me—you know what. dont call me. i think i need a few weeks to recover from this.” yuri said, mimicking a disgusted face as she turned around, causing jae to sigh once yuri had left his apartment, slouching in his seat just like yuri was moments prior.

“yuri is...she’s quite the character.” jeonghan laughed softly, slowly sitting next to jae and curling up on his side, humming contently when jae had wrapped his arm around him, his fingers gently tapping on jeonghan's arm mindlessly. “i’m surprised she didn’t say anything about me being here.”

“me too...but yuri knows everything. even if no one tells her, she figures it out. she’s a little shit.” jae scoffed, chuckling slightly as he thought abiut his sister. she always found things out before they even happened, and how she does it, jae will never know how.

“do you want to continue...or are you traumatized?” jeonghan asked, looking up at jae, holding in his giggle when jae excitedly nodded, a pink blush forming on his cheeks. “how about we lock the door this time?” jeonghan suggested, standing up and pulling jae up, bringing him back to their bedroom, making sure to lock the door before he sat jae on the bed, sliding back into his lap.

as jeonghan found home in jae’s locks and leaned down to place a kiss on jae’s neck, jae had finally found the confidence in himself that he had been searching for for days, and without thinking, he let out the three words that he had been dying to say for years slip out of his mouth.

“i love you, jeonghan.” jae whispered, bringing one of his hands up to brush a lock of hair out of jeonghan's eyes, searching his eyes for anything, and when he saw how much love and adoration was filled into his beautiful orbs, he swore his heart missed a beat.

“i love you too, jae.”

seongwoo, the youngest trainee (who would later be known as kai) had no clue who rain was until they were paired up for monthly evaluations. but rain, on the other hand, was told so much about the boy to know that he was an evaluation away from being put on the final lineup — and so was she.

but despite the age gaps, they spent so much time together and decided that if they would be debuting together in the future, they might as well befriend each other.

“noona, why are we getting tea after dance?” kai questioned as rain set down the milk tea he had shyly asked for just moments ago in front of him at the cafe booth. “because, silly, your vocal chords will thank you later… you should really work on your singing some more, you know? you’re so close to becoming better than eunwoo!” rain teased, a small laugh left her lips when the younger boy’s face went red, “in all honesty, i think you’re on the brink of having a very powerful voice… i’d be damned if you’re not the first pick.”

“you mean it?” “kai, i’ve always been honest with you.”

kai’s eyes sparkled with a glimmering hope, one that rain saw in herself when she looked in the mirror every night before bed. “you know… i’m glad i left YG, i’m not used to having so many people believe in me like this.” he shyly admitted, eyes darting to his phone that had just lit up with a text notification from who rain assumed to be his friend sunwoo, who she’d met a few weeks ago after he was picking up kai from rehearsals.

“does your boyfriend believe in you?” rain softly asked, nodding towards the boy who held kai on his lock-screen as she took a sip of her hot tea, grabbing kai’s attention from her use of the word ‘boyfriend.’ who (in the photo) was sunwoo from sapphire (@sopphre).

“—just a friend? yeah right, and do pigs fly?” rain sarcastically asked in a playfully tone, reaching across the table to gently lift kai’s chin that was lowered to look down at his hands back up with her index finger. “kai, i’m not gonna shame you for loving someone of the same gender, okay? i think you two are quite adorable together, your eyes light up whenever he takes you home from practice, i’m not a fool… and if this is the boy from sapphire, i feel in my gut that he’s been on your side since the beginning.” rain told the younger boy, slightly scolding him for thinking she wouldn’t be supportive of him.

and later that day, rain got an exciting phone call from kai that he’d not just been added to the lineup — but also that he thinks she’s next.

missing you (2022)

summary: after returning to the hotel room after coachella day one, jia calls her boyfriend, who was thousands of miles away from her.

jia sighed contently when her head hit the soft pillow, the mattress slightly bouncing from her jumping into it. it had been a long, long day. sapphire had just gotten home from performing at coachella, and it was nearing three in the morning. she was exhausted, but she promised she’d call joshua before she let herself go into dreamland.

jia had reached for her phone out of her joshua’s hoodie pocket, smiling when she could smell the faint spray of joshua’s cologne. she wished that she could be in her boyfriend’s arms at the current moment, with her body feeling like dead weight and her brain still being in a fuzzy state, she would have done anything to feel joshua’s warm and strong arms around her, cuddling her into his chest.

the phone ringed twice before joshua had answered, his soft and dreamy voice instantly making jia melt more into the mattress below her.

“hi, baby! how was coachella?” joshua asked, seeming to be walking into his own room, escaping his nosy members. seungkwan had successfully peered over joshua’s shoulder before he made it into his room, yelling out a hello to jia.

“tell seungkwan i said hi! and it was amazing! i’m exhausted, but it was so much fun. i still can’t believe we went to coachella...it still feels like a dream.” jia said, yawning after she finished talking. the tiredness was slowly creeping up on her, but she really wanted to talk to joshua before she went to sleep.

“i’m so proud of you, angel. and what time is it for you? it has to be late...” joshua asked, his eyebrows furrowing with concern when jia yawned again, rubbing her eye tiredly as she mumbled out 3am. jia hadn’t been awake that late in a very, very long time. “you should go to sleep, darling. you had a long day.”

“it’s okay, shua. i wanted to talk to you before i sleep. and plus, i have all day tomorrow to sleep.” jia chuckled, giving joshua a sweet smile before sinking further into her hoodie, bringing the light blue color into frame. “i’m wearing your sweatshirt, i really miss you.”

jia giggled as joshua’s eyes grew wide, a faint blush creeping on his cheeks as he thought of jia in one of his sweatshirts, and he wanted nothing more than to engulf her into his arms and press thousands of kisses all over her face. he really did miss her, but he was so happy that jia was able to go back on tour again — something she had been craving to do for such a long time.

“i miss you too, jia. i never go a day without thinking about you...i love you so much.” joshua admitted, a wide smile forming on his face upon realizing that jia had been fading in and out of sleep, her eyes fighting to stay open. joshua knew that jia wouldn’t be able to stay awake for much longer, so he just watched as she had slowly began to drift off, an admiring smile on his face.

“i love you too...” jia mumbled, her words slurring together and she continued to fall asleep, barely being able to fight off the tiredness any longer.

“good night, angel.” joshua said, biting his lip to prevent himself from laughing when jia dropped her phone, who quickly grabbed it again when she no longer had the weight of it in her hand again, only for her to drop it a few seconds later.

“night shua...i love you...” jia whispered, her words barely coherent. it wasn’t long until joshua had heard her breathing even out to slow and deep breaths, signaling that she had fallen asleep. joshua had stayed on the call for a few minutes, making sure that jia was truly asleep and was okay.

“good night, love bug.” joshua whispered, hanging up the phone and opening the messaging app, and sending a quick message to yeseul to make sure jia has her phone plugged in, and then a quick message to jia, before he returned to what he was doing prior.

despite being an ocean part, jia had still felt the strong and warm love from joshua that he had continued to send her while they were apart — and she doesn’t know what she did in her past life to deserve having such an amazing boyfriend like joshua — but she was so happy he had came into her life. he had made her the happiest women on earth, and jia had wanting nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with him.

FAMILY — JAE KIM BLURB

the concert had just ended, and sapphire was currently making their way down the stairs backstage, on their way to their dressing room. the nearly deafening screams echoed in their eyes, and the pulse from the music still courses throughout their body. all of them were breathless, sweaty, and absolutely exhausted, but they still wore dreamy smiles on their faces.

all of them were excited to come to san francisco, it being one of the groups favorite cities to visit due to all of the cultural diversity, but not one member could match the excitement their eldest member, jae, had right now. jae was finally returning to his hometown, after three whole years. he was finally seeing his family again, the people who raised him and the people he grew up with, after three long and tortuous years. jae had been running down the stairs and down the corridors of the backstage area, towards the dressing room where he knew his family would be waiting for him.

all throughout the concert, he kept looking over to the area his family was sitting, his aunt miyeon and uncle luis were holding up a sign that read, ‘WE LOVE YOU JAE!’, the poster being decorated with various photos of him, maia iseul and mateo were all singing along to the songs, and dayeon and dowoon were waving the sapphire lightstick around the whole time, as well as turning around to the people behind them, hyping them up when jae’s part had came. the only people that were missing were his parents, which didn’t surprise jae in the slightest. the three of them had been arguing for months now, ever since jae heard they didn’t come to support ateez, the group his little sister, yuri, was in.

jae pushed the thoughts of his parents at the back of his mind when he arrived to the dressing room, immediately throwing it open and walking to the sofa where his fsnily was sitting, finding him being engulfed in a bone crushing hug by his aunt miyeon in seconds. once again, jae could feel tears brimming in his eyes as he continued to hug his aunt, her familiar scent of amber vanilla waving in jae’s face. nothing had changed since he saw her last, but it felt like so much had changed for him and in him since she saw him last. he wish he had make time to fill her in on everything, but he would have to save it for another time.

“you did so amazing out there, jaehyun-ah!” miyeon cooed, leaning back from the hug to cup jae’s cheeks, jae melting in her touch. he really need to hug her, he could feel the stress and all the anxiety he had built up slowly wash away as he felt her warm hands cup his cheeks and as he looked into her loved filled gaze.

“you are getting more and more handsome everytime i see you! no wonder you had everyone in the crowd screaming for you!” miyeon complimented, placing a kiss onto jae’s cheek before letting him go upon realizing the rest of his group had entered the room. he watched as miyeon ran over to them, engulfing them all into hugs and giving them all kisses on the cheeks. miyeon had adored his group mates, she saw them as her own nieces and newphew.

while miyeon talked with his group mates, jae walked around the room to hug his other relatives that showed up, a wide grin on his face as he talked with the people he had missed the most. he couldn’t believe he was seeing his family again, and he was so relieved that it was actually happening.

once jae had greeted all of his relatives, he walked back to where all his group mates were standing, wrapping an arm around sunwoo’s shoulder, looking over at him to see him smiling widely, his eyes twinkling with happiness.

“these are my members! this is sunwoo, and then this is yeseul,” jae said, gesturing to each member, finally introducing their leader, jia, trailing his hand to the small of her back, a warm smile on his face, “and this is our leader, jia!” jae concluded, smiling when all of his members bowed, his relatives following suite.

“i have reservations at a nearby restaurant, and the three of you are more than welcome to join us!” miyeon cheered, giving a warm smile to jae’s group mates. jae already knew about the plans, and upon seeing his members hesitate, he hurriedly added, “it’s in a private room, so we don’t have to worry about being mobbed.” jae said, pursing his lips as he thought about a few days ago at the airport. sapphire knew they were growing in fame, but fame always had its cost.

“let’s go! i’m starving!” yeseul cheered, the room instantly buzzing as everyone helped get the members changed and get everything back together, packing everything up. in just under an hour, the quartet was sitting in the backseats of jae’s cousin, dowoon, and his wife, zoe.

“before i leave, do you think there’s anyway i could meet yumi? i had a covid test a few days ago and yesterday and they both came back negative!” jae asked nervously, looking at dowoon and zoe through the rear view mirror. yumi was the first baby in the family in almost twelve years, whose parents were the recently wedded dowoon and zoe, and jae had been so excited to meet her ever since zoe announced her pregnancy. he had never met her, but after hearing yuri ramble about her for hours straight after meeting her, he had already loved the little girl with all of his heart.

“i don’t see any reason why not!” zoe said, looking over to her husband, smiling when he gave a soft nod. “how about tomorrow? does that work?” zoe asked, turning around to look at jae, who nodded is enthusiastically, his eyes shimmering with glee.

dinner was fantastic, the private room was buzzing with chatter all throughout the night. yeseul was currently talking with mateo about the lore of fnaf — which was quite comical to jae — jia and zoe were bonding over their love for cooking and baking, and sunwoo and maia were currently listening to iseul gossip about all of the drama in her school, occasionally fueling the fire. jae was so happy to see his biological family and his second family get along so well, the sight had made him sit back, a warm and bubbly feeling resting in his heart. he sat there in a euphoric daze for awhile, until his aunt miyeon had nudged him from the side, bringing him back to reality.

“i’m so glad you are home.” miyeon said, placing a gentle kiss onto jae’s cheek. jae was finally home.
