any tips on coloring? your artwork always looks gorgeous

WOW THANK YOU IM VERY FLATTERED T_T i dont think i have very many explainable tips on coloring... i just tweak things around until it feels right T_T (my understanding of color theory is very minimal) i try my best to use colors that harmonize with each other and will occasionally use that trick where you overlay one color over the others at a lower opacity to get them to match better. i also play around with layer modes in CSP a lot and my favs to mess around with are color burn, linear burn, exclusion, and brightness! i also mess around with color balance sliders too to get the colors where i want them.

SUPER MEGA SPOILER ALERTTT all of them are pretty much from the final arc/volume AHAHA but omg... these are partially bc noda went so hard on visual symbolism... these moments fr live in my head rent free...

OGATA'S DEATH - i genuinely think it's one of the coolest, most fitting, most satisfying death ive seen of any character in media. the way he's poisoned -> cuts himself open -> shoots himself mirrors his mother, father, and brother's deaths WAS SOOO GOOD UGHHH i was going HELL YEAH the entire time

SUGIMOTO THROWING GOLD DUST IN TSURUMI'S EYES - most perfect imagery to throw in at the end of tsurumi's arc... blinded by gold, LITERALLY... followed by him impulsively choosing the land deed over his wife and daughter's bones and the pain on his face... OTL

KOITO BEGGING TSURUMI TO LET TSUKISHIMA GO - love this scene for so many reasons!!! koito is my fav gk character specifically for his character evolution and i think this is the epitome of that arc, denying tsurumi's authority directly to his face... and i love noda's use of the snake skin screen tone on tsurumi in this scene... so sinister and intimidating... also it's such a good koitsuki moment... tsukishima only lives to see the end of the story BECAUSE of koito

gwuhhhhh i just love the final arc so bad BAHAHA also train fights are my fav trope of all time so u can imagine how bad i was tweakin out LOL

ok honorable mention............ sugimoto sucking the poison out of ogata's eye DSJAHDGJSF it was in that moment that i truly knew noda was a visionary LMFAOOO i love sugio beautiful boys' hate <333

HOW do you keep the motivation to draw when you have art block?? been struggling with that a lot recently 😭

ive been doing a lot more figure drawing as of late, and i've noticed it's helped me stave off feelings of art block! i think it's because it forces me to draw while at the same time allowing myself to turn off the creative/inventive side of my brain (almost hitting two birds with one stone: im burning my way thru the art block while at the same time improving a skill)

essentially, if you feel blocked but still want to draw, try drawing from a reference so you dont have to expend extra mental energy to come up with a pose/idea/etc. it can be anything, and do it even if it ends up looking bad!

How old were you when you started drawing (or drawing "seriously") and what inspired you most at the time?

i've loved drawing my whole life 🥹 genuinely my fav thing to do for as long as i could remember... i wasn't great at expressing myself very much growing up + i suck with words so drawing characters/stories has always been my outlet for that haha. i can't pinpoint a single source but cartoons and video games have always been my biggest inspos! and then anime when i started watching it in my teen years 🤣 improving has always been a goal of mine but i started taking drawing the most seriously around 2-3 years ago after graduating school (i have more time to practice/improve now that im no longer busy with studying lol)

fave gk character and why?

koito because his character arc/development took me by surprise. i haven't encountered a lot of characters in media with that type of setup + trajectory and i wasnt expecting it from him either (i didn't really think much of him until the later part of gk LOL) so it impressed me a lot!
