whatever was dancing in the corner of Sora’s eye happened to completely sail over Daisuke’s head. All he could do was stay on the couch in his own confusion, watching Sora be his own, bizarre self. He heaved a sigh and resumed fiddling with his phone. Between the loading screens, Daisuke could swear something dark flickered behind him in the phone’s reflection.

            “Huh…?” 

He threw a glance over his shoulder and froze. Cold turned his blood, static was his gaze, and though he tried to make some sound, his voice betrayed him as a living shadow with eyes like flames faced him, its expressionless grimace inches away from ravaging Daisuke.

  & sora leaps to meet his foul shadow face to face, keyblade unsheathed.    it would only take ONE SHOT ! one measly strike to fell the creature ( curiously    enough it bears no resemblance to any heartless he’s ever seen. ) but, priorities   come first  !  the brunet wastes no time in throwing himself upon daisuke, blindly   pointing keyblade at a cold - blooded face, only to be seconds late to land a proper blow.

  a meek chuckle bubbles in sora’s throat. he was lucky to make it on time, the coarse   breath that leaves him is one of relief, veilled by a lighthearted smile. if anything had   happened to his friend, there would be no way he’d forgive himself.

Tone laced with an unavoidable kind of dryness, the pallid span of his face reached to adopt something similar to a deadpan, golden brows left only ever so slightly furrowed in comparison to their usual scowl. It was an obvious answer to an expected question, but the boy had always remained ever so sunny when faced with the inevitability of the brooding storm above that blonde head, and Cloud spoke with confidence that the youth before him would suffer no offence by his specific kind of amusement. It was a taste well acquired– but it remained one of those few ways of expressing himself without the use of swinging blade and slicing claw. 

And perhaps it was also one of those parts of himself that had been taken away once: that definitive kind of humor. It was nice to relocate aspects once thought abandoned, as useless as he may have once thought them to be—- and perhaps he’d wished to indulge in his finding at least a little.

   a hand gestures down the walkway, sora referencing the path he had just came from. merlin’s house always seemed full, but it lacked the blond, stagnant expression & all. his friends all wanted him there ( with the exception of leon, who claimed that the wall was cloud’s only friend. ) & if were up to sora, with a little convincing, he might have enough puppy eyes & pouts to drag him there by his lone sleeve. not all clouds are full of rain !

      Though he teases and prods at the boy with words, it is actions that solicit a smile from his lips. The hand resting in his warm and comforting, and the squeeze sends tingles up his spine ( he cannot get used to this feeling, it seems, despite the passage of time ).

     His words are ridiculous, like something torn from a bad romantic comedy, but before his lips can part to spit out something equally idiotic, the breath is sucked from his lungs. Sora’s smile makes even stupidest of tirades seem like inspiration poetry.
