               ❝ I appreciate the kind words, miss, but ye don’ need ta thank me. I’s my job ta put on a good show an’ make sure the audience leaves feelin’ impressed. ❞

Since this kind stranger claimed to be from a circus herself, Wendy found it a little strange that she hadn't seen a trapeze act in such a long time. Had their performer left? Even if that were the case, surely they would have been able to find a replacement fairly quickly.

               ❝ I’s a pleasure ta meet ye, Nails. As I’m sure ye already heard from the show last night, I’m Wendy. ❞

               ❝ But where’s this other circus set up, then? We haven’ seen any nearby, as far as I know. ❞

         •·· “I wanted to tell you that the show last night was very enjoyable… It’s been years since I’ve seen a tight rope walker or trapeze… You’re very talented..”  Nails had found her way onto the camp grounds of Noah’s Ark circus. “I know we’re strangers but.. my name is Nails, with a different circus.. and I couldn’t… not say anything..so thank you for that.. it reminded me of an old friend.”

Wendy knew for a fact these three were no members of Noah’s Ark. Not only were they not dressed in anything even vaguely resembling a costume, but she was sure there was no way the recruitment of three identical triplets would have slipped her attention. 

             *ﾟ They got bored at the manor all alone so the triplets decided to check out the circus in town. Only to realize that because they are identical, they’re getting a lot of stares too. “We are not… part of the circus….”  Canterbury huffed at a few other patrons. It never occurred to the triplets how odd they looked, being identical and all.   *ﾟ

@circusjumbo: Jumbo, thinking he was alone behind some tents, grunted and rubbed his back from the pain that plagued him daily.

Wendy had quickly learned how to tread quietly while on the streets, and even now she was safe and staying with a family of her own, her stealth was proving to be quite a difficult habit to break.

Though with their secretive night time crimes, perhaps staying silent wasn't such a bad thing after all.

               ❝ Somethin’ ailin’ ye, brother? ❞ Wendy couldn’t reach up high enough to place her hand on his back, so she settled for just standing by her side instead.

               ❝ Did ye pull a muscle from overdoin’ it? I’ve done tha’ before. ❞

              ✧ — The performer huffed an annoyed sigh and crossed his arms over his chest. “Fine! Only listenin since it’s you. If ye find out who did it, kick ‘em out of ‘ere! Or I will and tha’ll be a right more painful!” 

               ❝ Yeah, ‘course I will. I don’ wan’ people goin’ through our things any more than ye do. ❞

Would Wendy kick someone out? It certainly wasn’t outside the realm of possibility. Usually she left the more confrontational business to Joker, seeing as he was the appointed leader and whatnot, but she could be authoritative in her own right.

She just hoped that her instinct was right and the bottles had been misplaced.

               ❝ While I’m gone, have a look ‘round and see if i’s fallen anywhere. An’ go check in the others’ tents, ye may ‘ave packed it away in their stuff by mistake. ❞

Moving to a new town was always a bit of a drag, but it was even more so when Wendy’s things somehow managed to get strewn throughout everyone else’s things. Dagger had found her ribbons, and Doll had ended up with her spare dresses. Now there was only one thing missing, and she was hoping Snake had seen it.

She ducked her head inside his tent, by now too used to his scaly friends to ever be scared by them, and gave a quick cursory glance around his room.

               ❝ Peter packed away my crown headpiece when we left the las’ place, but i’s not in wiv’ my things and now ‘e can’ remember where ‘e put it. Have ye or yer friends seen it anywhere? ❞

REDDECTH

     ❝ An AUDITION?! Oh my, it’s been too long since I’ve done one of those, I might be rusty – but I am an actress, how did you know?! ❞ Chipper is the smile that lights her visage, resting one hand upon her hip. ❝ I must admit though, knife throwing isn’t really my specialty ~ I have lots of other talents.. what sort of show are you putting on?! ❞      How flattering it was to be recruited for such a thing!! And such interesting clothes the woman wore! She simply must be a performer! Would she get to wear such beautiful costumes, too?!

               ❝ Ye’re so pretty an’ can stand out from the crowd so easily, it’d be a right shame if ye weren’ some type’a performer! The spotlight is callin’ yer name, I can tell. ❞

To anyone else it may have sounded like empty flattery, but Wendy was being honest when she’d said that this woman did stand out from the rest. Most people she’d seen were dressed in navy blues or greys, dark, wintery colours as drab as the conversations they were holding. Someone wearing such a bright, vibrant red and being able to pull it off well was far more worthy of her time and attention. And she was such a delight to talk to!

               ❝ We’re Noah’s Ark Circus! We have lots of different types of acts, so if knives weren’t yer thing I’m sure we could arrange somethin’ else. I’m Wendy, an’ I’m one of the main trapeze artists here, alongside my brother Peter. ❞

               ❝ An’ don’ worry about being rusty, ye’ll be superb! Tha’ throw alone was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in a while, so all ye’d need ta do is demonstrate tha’ again. If ye like I’ll put in a good word for ya, make sure they don’ make the audition too rigorous. ❞
