Her presence was felt like a foreboding through the town. But in the midst of celebration they paid no mind. A shriek like no other, a mix of fear and heart-wrenching sorrow wailed through the woods. It landed on deaf ears, drowned by the laughter and music of festivities.

                       Then, chaos ensued.

Murder. D e a t h. The youngest Valiente-Gardner left lifeless while the protective three held him in their arms.

The smell of earth, which once had been so overwhelming, now brings him comfort–identity. He has grown used to the pain so much that he welcomes it now– like bracing oneself for the last wave before reaching the eye of the storm.
