to  hell  with  that  garbage  about  blood  being  thicker  than  water.  she  did  not  carry  him,  no.  nor  would  she  ever  attempt  to  steal  that  title  from  the  long - passed  rightful  owner  of  that.  but  when  he  calls  her  that  (  some  garbled,  inventive  form  of  it,  that  is  )  her  heart  seizes  up  in  her  throat,  and  then  her  throat  closes  in  on  itself.  without  even  realizing  the  smile  on  her  face,  she’s  busying  herself  with  blinking  back  tears.  wouldn’t  want  him  to  get  the  wrong  idea  he’s  upset  her  or  something.

she’s  supposed  to  be  venom  and  steel.  sharp  and  unapproachable,  cunning  and  conniving.  dammit  kid.  for  someone  who  no  longer  claims  to  be  human,  her  heart  is  very  much  so  –  soft,  painfully  so,  loving  until  it  aches.  oh.  she  loves,  she  loves  so  much  it  hurts.

an  arm  outstretches  itself,  reaching  out  for  the  back  of  his  helmet  to  pull  him  forward  as  she  stands  on  her  tip - toes.  she  kisses  the  top  of  his  forehead  before  pulling  away.  but  that  same  hand  which  reached  for  him  never  leaves,  it  only  moves  back  towards  the  side  of  his  face,  to  where  she  supposes  his  cheek  should  be.   ❛   —-  well  kid,  that’s  quite  the  name  you’ve  come  up  for  me.  ❜
