liluura‌:
The Faunus offered a very slow blink. One of those things was not like the others and, well, she would be kinda pissed if someone stole her wallet. Maybe not pissed enough to attack someone but she would certainly want it back.
“You stole from them.” Did she regret helping Azurite out? No, she didn’t but fuck… Someone could have said there was more than one foul play involved. Eugh… She would just pretend she didn’t hear that.
With a heavy sigh, she starts slowly lumbering in the opposite direction that the human’s ran. “I have an inn room, we can dip in there for a bit. You drink? They have a bar.” Graeae offers a wry smile, her movements hardly the fastest but listen… she is trying.
So maybe she shouldn’t have so openly admitted to stealing… oh well too late to take it back.
“Is it really the best idea to open your home to a known thief?” Azurite mused. Had she been in the other’s shoes she wouldn’t have even helped in the first place - but that was her. “Not really a drinker, but I’ll still take the offer… take some water on the rocks.”
She breathed out an incoherent sound, combing fingers through her hair so it lay over her shoulder.
“Thank you, really.”

fox didn’t force her back down, though he definitely flinched at just how violently she rose from her position. his hand reached out, a firm weight on one of her shoulders if only to ground her. in his experience, panic could make you feel like you were floating, and he’s only got his experience to go on. “calm down, before you hurt yourself.”
his free hand reaches over to the water on the fire, stirring it a little and taking it off before blowing on it. “i only found you, there wasn’t anyone else nearby. here,” he pours the contents of the small pot into a cup, and holds it out. “drink this.”
Opal wasn’t-
Azurite cut off her thoughts there before they could get any further. She couldn’t allow herself to believe her sister was anything more then alive, probably just as worse for wear as herself, but somewhere. Waking up. Looking around - looking for Azurite - probably with her own helper who had found her unconscious.
She took a breath. Focusing on the hand against her shoulder, and then to the offered drink. She only took it once she was sure she’d calmed down enough to keep her hands from shaking.
“Thank you…?”

scattersouls‌:
winter rolled her eyes, swallowing the urge to point out that no pissant, greasy, disgusting food could come close to the amount that she gets paid. this wasn’t the time to be bragging about personal wealth, after all, seeing as she’s supposed to be endearing herself to little miss convict across the table from her.
she pulls out her scroll, and starts flicking through applications.
“i am not paying for your food personally, so i’ll go ahead and order a little more than the atlas military budget will allow for this mission. will that satisfy your spite?”
three pizzas ought to do the trick, along with an omelette for herself. this girl looked like she needed it, frankly; all skin and bones and even less healthy-looking than she’d been when the atlas military picked her up in the first place.
“i wish to be upfront with you, miss adar. as i am sure you are aware, you are wanted by atlas law enforcement for crimes that are… petty, to say the least. far less interesting than the reason you’ve been tracked down. however, i am obliged to inform you that we cannot simply release you, now that we’ve caught you. your cooperation, however, can still change your fate.”
“Yes, it will.”
For the moment Azurite felt like a queen. It was the little things she enjoyed, like winning out on getting food without needing to pay a cent of her own non-existent wealth. But her smug smile slipped the moment Winter spoke again.
It was expected, she would of been a fool if she believed she could walk out free - not that she hadn’t hoped luck would be on her side. “What, corporate and I get a lesser sentence in prison?”
Truthfully, she wouldn’t be too opposed to going back to her cell. At least that way she knew she was guaranteed to eat.
She snorted. “Or - what - y’all going to give me an offer to join the Atlas military?”

your not my sister / scattersouls‌
  “c’mon, wake up.”
he’s got the unconscious girl by a river. her boots are off her feet and sitting on top of her weapons, half a foot to her right. her skin is hot, and there’s rips in her clothes where he’s assuming wounds used to be. fever aside, at least her aura has managed to heal the external wounds. there’s a fire burning to his right, heating up some water he’s stewing herbs in. she can’t drink it unconscious, though, and he’s getting a little impatient.
were fox a crueller man, he’d have left her where he found her, but it’s just not in his nature. it absolutely is in his nature to trade the damp fabric on her forehead with splashing two hands worth of cold water from the river right into her face.
  “c’mon. i don’t have all day.”
we’re opening this box traumatically | @soulspyre
She woke as if submerged and drowning; blurry eyed and clenching at her throat. Her lungs seized up unable to hold air, and Azurite jerked upright with violent coughing in the start of a panic. Her gaze looked past her apparent savior, left back to the blooded field that caused ringing in her ears and burning in her blood. The soreness of her chest wasn’t just from frantic breaths, but also welting scars her aura still debated on mending. It wasn’t until her breathing stilled, and Azurite found herself back in the present, wary eyes still not fully able to see the man before her.  “Wha— who are you?”  She still looked past him, looking -- searching -- for someone else. "Where is Opal — my,,, my sister,,, she was..."

Graeae / liluura‌
Amber hues keep their deadpan stare across at the shorter Faunus, brows furrowed just slightly as if she didn’t understand the situation that she had landed herself in. “Right…” She mumbles, tone just as flat as her stare.
Her ears seem to perk just slightly at the given name though and a nod offered. “Azurite.” Fitting. She was kind of blue. “A pleasure, Azurite.”
“If I may ask, why were you being accosted by those men?” It wasn’t too late to hunt them down like animals and cripple them or-… Well, that was illegal actually. Maybe she would just settle for thoroughly scaring them. That always seemed to work.
Azurite could count several reasons to why those men had decided to take the time out of their day to turn on her. But it probably had to do with the fact she stole from them, if not it because of her being a faunus.
But she settled for shrugging, "Your guess is as good as mine, Graeae." which it was. "Either they weren't too fond of faunus, or they didn't take kindly to losing their wallet..."
With a glance around, Azurite felt herself tense up.
"Actually... we probably shouldn't be standing here. They could come back with friends."

what a nice dinner date this is  / scattersouls‌
“If you are quite done abusing the door handle.”
Smug? Winter Schnee, reclining in an uncomfortable chair with a cup of steaming coffee on the table before her, fingers idling on its handle, basking in the success of a remarkably simple plan to secure an audience with the woman before her? Never. Aside from her posture she did her best not to show it, mind. Winter was well aware that the success of this particular transaction rode upon her own ability to endear, well, herself.
Winter gestured to the empty seat at the other side of the table.
“I would offer my apologies for the… uncouth manner in which we have chosen to contact you. Given the nature of your crime and the banner we fly I’m sure you understand why conventional means were not applicable to us.” Winter said, her voice icy yet as smooth as the surface of a glacier. She sat up, crossing her one leg over the other and took a sip of coffee. Her eyes were trained on the other woman like a hawk surveys its prey.
“If you’ll take a seat, you’ll find there is no risk without reward. What food would you like? I find discussion is always much easier on a full stomach.”
Not without directing a final look at the door, she gave up with a drawn out sigh. There was no way of getting through the door, and with a sweep of the room; there didn’t seem to be any other escape route.
Azurite frowned, “So that sign wasn’t a total hoax.” she murmured with a raised brow. She was honestly surprised.
But her surprise soon turned back to suspicion. What could Atlas possibly want from her other then for her to serve out her crimes behind bars? The thought alone was enough to keep Azurite’s interest.
She moved carefully, cautious of every step, over to the open seat. A leg over the other in a near perfect mirror of the Specialist’s own figure.
“Anything greasy and disgusting and costs more than your paycheck.”

Graeae / liluura‌
The woman’s expression did not shift from deadpan flat as her hand lifted and a thumbs up was offered. Well, this was her good deed and her social interactions all in one completed. She wouldn’t need to so much as see someone for another solid six days minimum.
“Graeae.” She does, however, correct this stranger. The last thing she wanted was to be called any semblance of strange nicknames. “My name-… It is not-…”
Well, she tried to do the ‘socialization’ thing. Nice to know she was still bad at it.
“Graeae is fine.” She reiterates with a nod, those rounded ears atop her head seeming to perpetually be flattened back in mild discomfort now that she was out of her area of expertise.
“I am… sure you did not need the assistance, as you said however. You seem plenty capable.” Nailed it.
A thumbs up... well that was one way to contribute to a show of gratitude, and a conversation at that. It made her wonder again why this stranger -- Graeae -- stepped in. If socializing was versed so little, why put yourself out there? Not that Azurite was complaining that Graeae had.
Now while her stubborn pride made her believe she was in no means an iffy situation before, and that she had everything under control. She didn’t.
"Is it?" her lips stretched with a wider grin. “But not a good Samaritan has such nice ring…”
She trailed off with a laugh, shifting her weight from leg to leg and gave what she thought was a true smile.
"I didn’t, and I am.” she sounded with just the slightest upturn of her chin. “And it’s Azurite.”

Graeae / liluura‌
The faintest hint of a frown pulled Graeae’s expression downwards, a pause taken as she pondered her own answer. She certainly had not wandered over to hope to gain merit in any way so maybe she was that type of do-good person.
And the Faunus could already hear Faerys’ inevitable snorted laughter as she recalled this later.
“I do not want anything, no.” There is hesitation to reach out, amber hues peering down to the bruise that had not healed. Was their Aura locked…? There was no way that those two men beat this woman enough that her Aura shattered, right?
Graeae made no comment.
“I am no… good Samaritan but if they cannot fight fairly against us then it would be a waste of time to fight them at all.” And there was still a strong temptation to give chase if not for the small hindrance of her large, damned crippling limp. Stupid leg…
There’s a passing moment where all Azurite did was decide whether or not she believed the faunus. Most would want something for their little share of kindness, but this woman didn’t? The concept was foreign to her and she was confusing herself the longer she thought on it.
She didn’t see any reason for the other to be trying to trick her -- Azurite rightfully kept cautious. Faunus or human, it didn’t matter of a person’s background to earn them unquestionable loyalty upon first meet.
But, in the end, Azurite decided to believe this stranger.
“You’re right on that.” while her voice still held that hint of uncertainty, Azurite was no longer openly snarling. Which was something of progress. "And thank you...not a good Samaritan, for coming along when you did.” she murmured with a lopsided grin.

In hindsight, maybe following the signs pointing towards free food wasn’t her brightest idea. But it wasn’t really in her control. Her stomach was louder then any red flags that went off in her head making her feet move before she could finish the thought; this is a trap.
Which, in the eyes of the now escapee of an Atlas prison, what else could being in a locked room staring at the stark figure of an Atlesian Specialist be? This woman was either about to kill her for escaping, or take her back kicking and screaming -- both Azurite were furthest from being a fan of.
“This is just great.” Azurite found herself muttering while she tried the door for a third time, maybe the previous two she hadn’t pulled hard enough. Not that it budged this time either, causing for her to pin it with the iciest glare she could muster and growl out in frustration        “Great!”
Fighting the urge to throw a childish tantrum and kick the very door that received her anger, she turned towards the Specialist with the same glare and a snarl.
“What do you want?”
you at least still got her some food, right @scattersouls ?

Graeae / liluura‌
@soulspyre // Us Faunus gotta stick together.
Wearing casual attire was never Graeae’s idea of ‘relaxing’ and even less so when she did not have her usual sharpened blade to hand. Today was about enjoying yourself, Fae said. Try to have fun, Fae said.
Well, Fae sure as sugar did not account for racist pricks and Graeae’s inability to keep her nose out of things. The towering Huntress, built of naught but lean muscle, lumbered over with a heavy limp to the two accosting men with a bare of fanged teeth; ears flattened back into her wild sandy blonde mane of hair.
“Oi-… Maybe you should be picking on someone your own size.” Someone who… was probably actually this other Faunus’ height but there was nothing more entertaining than seeing the fragile ego of men shattered by someone a head taller who certainly looks like they eat naught but steel bars for breakfast.
Though upon closer look, the pair already looked rattled aplenty; startling upon a second Faunus appearing. Graeae would swear up and down that if they had tails, they might’ve been tucked between their legs as one tugged at the other to hastily retreat. Of course, when evenly numbered, bullies never take their chances.  Cowards.
“Nnrrrh…” Graeae’s attention then fell back to the smaller stranger, brows drew down in mild concern. She spoke in a tone as soft as one with a… gruff voice could manage. “Are… you okay?”
That day had gone about as Azurite expected. A wallet stuffed in her back pocket, a bruise forming on her arm, teeth pinched together in the starts of a snarl... okay, maybe this wasn't how she anticipated the day to go.
The first of the list sounded right, but add in the unwanted attention of the man who grabbed her arm and his friend who started with slurs. Well, it wasn't Azurite's fault he had to pull away with burns on his palm.
That was what he got for touching her.
"I'm alright." Azurite tensed, glancing towards her apparent savior only once the other two had ran off. "While I'm not one to be unappreciative... I had the situation under control."
Sucking in air, she had her entire body turned. She had long since lost the ability to think optimistically, and her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
"Am I a fool to assume you've just happened by and found it in your heart to help a poor girl out -- or do you want something in return?"

information + tags!
azurite was originally from a RP group over on DA that a group of friends and I started and it did,,, surprisingly well. the group was a fun time while it lasted but has died since from mod and member inactivity.
the group was sort of a spin off of atla/lok and she was a firebender -- hence her semblance being blue fire...
azu is a blue spotted tree monitor faunus! which is a mouthful,,, so just say a blue lizard faunus. her traits are scales, which are just in clusters throughout body, and don’t really do much other then add a bit of armor to otherwise paper-thin skin.
i have exactly one (1) icon for her and that’s the one i’m using for this post LOL
this post will be edited with a link to art of her once i’ve had time to finish it! ;U;

only if there’s a test / scattersouls‌
Tumblr media
A RAISED BROW precedes a sly smile. Caught on a hook, perhaps. No struggling, as she is reeled in. But this is a small catch nonetheless, a little bit of fun that means nothing and affects nothing. Neo knows that, but it is amusing nonetheless to see Cinder consider for a moment, even just for a second, that it might matter.
Her fingers flick lazily, and words chase the fading of the previous displayed. Happen? A laugh, were she capable of it, would fit in the pause between words. I am inconsequential to you. What makes you think I have any power to make anything ‘happen’?
THE LAUGH WAS PRACTICALLY heard within the words and all Cinder gave in response was a roll of shoulders. She shrugged, this little exchange was starting to become enjoyable. Whether or not there were something to lose or gain, it sounded of a game nonetheless. One which Cinder was interested in winning.
Tumblr media
A finger to her chin and humming in thought, Cinder decided with another shrug. ❝ Let's call it curiosity. ❞ She murmured, ❝ Who's to say that you couldn't do something... power is such a funny thing. ❞

"mm." fox mumbles, very nearly dipping back into sleep where he stands. coco's hand is stiff, however, like she's been holding something too long. he reaches out, patting at the table in front of her and fingers grazing papers. he wrinkled his nose. "homework, coco? this the stuff that's due today?" he clicks his tongue, chin lowering to her shoulder. "you're a shit influence on the rest of us. you want help?"
Until Fox spoke up, she was nearly convinced he had fallen asleep on her. Which would’ve been fine, nor would it be the first time – and truthfully? She rather prefer it over the reference of her procrastination.
She was good at many things, but math was never a subject that clicked.
Coco groaned with what sounded of a literal dying animal; turning to hide her face in what she could of Fox’s neck.
“Yes!” it bit into her pride, but by this point she was desperate to never need to look at the pages again. “I’ve been at it all morning -- I don’t understand.”

fox groans, shoulders extending above him and back cracking in about three different places as he walks up behind coco. it's almost ten am but he's still not ready to be awake. approaching coco's seat, his hands touch her shoulders, then arms lay across her chest like a lazy scarf, chin resting on her head. "mornin'" he slurs, taking a breath. "you smell like coffee."
Coco was no better a morning person, the very coffee Fox smelled being the only reason keeping her out of bed. Had it been up to her, she’d still be in pajamas and a blanket long after 12 pm – but classes had a different idea.
By 9 am she was long awake, coffee freshly brewed, and homework spread across the table before her. She was without a single hair out of place.
Now an hour later – her cup was refilled twice, and the homework was no closer to being completed.
By the time Fox came over to her, Coco was already considering letting a future her deal with the measurements and equations that made up tomorrow’s math lesson.
Sighing at his touch, she tilted her chin up a tad and placed a hand over his arm. “Surprised to see you up,” a grin stretched over her lips. “Made a pot – you want any?”
