Soundrod Prompt Week August 25-31

Hello everyone, this is Soundrod prompt week 2025. We have some guidelines for how it will run this year, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

We will start prompt submissions on Saturday, and it will last a week.

We are accepting fics, art, edits, and playlists. For playlists (3-5) songs per day. We are also accepting edits 1 per day. Just make sure we know it’s part of this event. Make sure it incorporates the prompt that day and focuses on Soundrod.

When tagging, use the tag #soundrodweek2025.

If you are posting it on AO3, make sure you submit it to Oceanoasis collection.

We can’t wait to see what you do. Even if you can only do one or two days, we would love to see it. If you can’t do it at all, just make sure to support others. This is a fun event where we can celebrate our love of Soundrod and have fun.

For some rules: 

You can have other ships besides Soundrod as long as they are in the background. 

This will be 18+ and could potentially have sensitive/ adult content. Please tag appropriately, otherwise, we can’t accept.

You can have ocs (For example, if you create a fic where Hot Rod and Soundwave have a sparkling) as long as they are not the main character.

No Hot Rod/reader/Soundwave or any ship that combines Hot Rod and Soundwave with another person. (Ex: Hot Rod/Soundwave/Megatron)

The last date of acceptance will be the 20th of September, and we will not accept any submissions after that. However, you can still post them, and we will reblog them.

This has been an exciting year for the Soundrod nation. We are now in the top ten transformers ships on AO3. As of November 27 we have written 600 fics on AO3. We have written countless Tumblr posts and have made numerous edits. Which has allowed our ship to grow.

Day 1 Sharing custody of Cassetticons

They were patrolling near their base when one of his teammates noticed something off. They immediately walked over to see what it was stepping into the ruins of a nearby building. Another one of his teammates reminded them to be careful.

He wasn't paying attention lost in thought as he surveyed their surroundings. Only focusing back on the conversation when his teammate stepped out of the building with a grin.

"Look what I found."

His spark sank when he saw an injured Ravage being held up by the back of his neck. He stood there frozen staring at his sparkling knowing he had to do something.

Panicking he threw a grenade when no one was looking.

"We're under attack."

He grabbed both his teammates and pushed them into the building. Which allowed Ravage to get away. Even though is sparkling was limping and leaking energon. He managed to hide behind some nearby rocks.

He focused on distracting his teammates even though he was worried about Ravage. He desperatly wanted to run to his bitty. He wanted to pick up his sparkling and hold him close, promising that he'd never let him get hurt again.

But he couldn't do that and he had to focus on protecting his bitty the only way he could. One of them got up and tried to fire at Ravage who shot back making it look like there were more Decepticons in the area.

"Scrap!"

"Do you think we're surrounded?"

He quickly looked around pretending to use his binoculars.

"That way!"

He pointed having them both run ahead while he pretended to fire at Ravage making sure to miss him.

"Over here Decepticreeps!"

"Hot Rod, what are you doing?"

One of his teammates gave him a confused look and he grinned. Pretending to act confident even though he was terrified that Ravage was badly injured.

"I'm distracting them. Don't worry go on without me I'll meet you both back at base."

The two looked conflicted but after being fired at some more they agreed. He split up acting like a distraction while they ran for it. In reality, he went to Ravage and pulled out a first aid kit.

"Are you okay?"

His sparkling laid his head in his lap looking exhausted and he felt tears sting his optics as he worked. He hated being on the opposite side of his family but he couldn't follow Megatron, not after all he's done. He just wishes Soundwave would stop being so stubborn and realize that Megatron isn't the same anymore. He's stopped fighting for others and now only fights for himself which worries him.

He's scared Soundwave is going to get caught in the middle because when it comes down to it Megatron will never protect his family.

He ended up sneaking Ravage back to base where he looked him over. He had to hide in his room while he recovered but it was nice having him so close.

His sparkling tried to joke that it wasn't his turn for the custody agreement and he ended up crying and holding his little one apologizing for being a horrible carrier.

"I understand if Soundwave wants to find someone else and you want a better carrier. All of you deserve so much more than me."

His sparkling quickly shook his head.

"We love you Hot Rod even if we can't understand your choice we will never abandon you."

He pulled Ravage closer and cried continuing to apologize for being a bad carrier despite Ravage telling him that wasn't true.

When his sparkling was all healed up he knew he couldn't keep him cooped up in base anymore. He was getting restless and needed to go back with Soundwave where it was safe.

After calling Soundwave to meet up at their usual location he snuck Ravage out of the base and the two of them made their way over. When Ravage saw Soundwave he ran over and the two of them hugged. He stood in the back feeling uncertain as though he didn't belong.

When Soundwave looked at him time seemed to stop as he stood there frozen unable to look away. The Decepticon walked over and he expected him to yell and tell him that he had no right to their family anymore.

Instead he was surprised when Soundwave hugged him and even more when he found himself collapsing into his arms and sobbing.

Soundrod week Day 7: zombies.

Hot Rod and Soundwave see each other again during the zombie apocalypse.

They’d meet in a safety camp thats pretty secure.

One of those camps thats hidden really far into the mountains with heavy security.

They keep the area quiet so it doesn’t attract any zombies and they have very thick walls made for hiding sound and smell.

They meet at the inspection area.

Its a somewhat long process.

Everyone is kept in individual cells and stripped down to undergarments.

They have to make sure no one has any bite or scratch marks and have no signs of turning.

This form of security has kept everyone safe and its always one or two bots who try to sneak in knowing they’ve been infected.

Hot rod and soundwave meet when they’re next to each others cells.

They only have bruising on them and a few dents but thats it. They move to the enegon line testing to see if its in their cna and once they clear they’re moved to take the antidote.

Its been developed while in hiding and only works on those not infected.

An infected bot exposed to the antidote will begin to shake and offline.

All shots are administered inside the cells and when Hot rod and Soundwave have the positive reaction of their frames healing they’re free to enter.

Its then they break down and hug each other.

Its been months since they’ve seen each other and the outbreak happened but they’re together again and they can finally tell each other how they feel.

They deserve a vacation

Soundrod week Hot Rod and Soundwave on vacation.

They go on vacation as soon as they finish helping rebuild Cybertron.

It’s extremely overdue and they’re honestly gone for years.

They have a small personal conjunxing ceremony on vacation that turns into their honeymoon.

They go off to a few planets, really just four.

They spend a lot of time on each planet, just living in small cottages or apartments in each place. Enjoying every season the planet has to offer and making a few friends.

Soundwave gets to relax and party which Hot rod loves to see. They dance together, sensually on the dance floor, intimately at the beach where they dance under sunsets, in a mess of limbs in the berth where they don’t ever separate. It always follows with the two remaining one in the showers.

They’re practically glued together in day to day living when at the homes they stay in.

Be it cooking or just reading by the fires, they’re touching.

It somewhat makes up for all the time lost during the war.

Honestly their vacation almost never ends.

They would’ve settled on one of their vacation planets and moved their cassettes with them if it weren’t for them being needed back on Cybertron.

When they come back from vacation they stay on Cybertron for a few weeks before beginning to plan their next vacation.

Hot rod and Soundwave bring the cassettes with them now on vacations because their vacations have become them living far from the reminders of war and they just love being able to move slow and enjoy their family.

Day 4 Soundrod week. Matchmaking via minicons

The mini cons doing a matchmaking between Soundwave and Hot rod actually goes well as long as they listen to Ravage along with Rumble and Frenzy.

The three have been with Soundwave the longest and know exactly what the mech likes and they know Hot rod is surprisingly it for Soundwave.

Hot rod is someone who can understand a situation and feel empathy even if he doesn’t agree.

So they know he’s a very good fit for Soundwave.

Thing is they need sparkling Ratbat to get Hot rod’s attention because a carrier like Hot rod would never just leave a bitty like Ratbat with only a sire to care for them.

So they let it “slip” that Ratbat is still too young a sparkling to be on his own and that Soundwave is stretched thin because he can’t leave a sparkling alone which could potentially put the sparkling in danger should he have to go on a mission only he could do.

Sooo that motivates Hot rod to leave base and go straight to Soundwaves dwellings that just so happen to “leak” to Hot rods comms only and he barges in taking the crying sparkling from its crib and begins taking care of them.

Soundwave is…too shell shocked to move for a couple kliks but after seeing the cassettes reactions he realizes this was their doing.

He’s truly ready to punish them but he can’t deny he’s exhausted and this is the first time in weeks Ratbat has stopped crying.

Hot rod doesn’t even spare him much of a glance while taking care of Ratbat he just gets familiar with the cassettes stuff and stays away from Soundwaves belongings and has the cassettes rallying after him while in carrier mode.

It takes the decepticons more than a month to figure out Hot rod is the reason Soundwave is energized again and the reason the cassettes and somehow air command is no longer terrorizing everybot on base…Megatron nor decepitcon high command say anything

Beautiful. So perfect.

For soundrod week accidental marriage.

They get married on accident through spark bonding.

They aren’t even charged when it happens they just had a deeply passionate and intense moment after finally meeting one another after spending months apart.

They manage to sneak off while the others continue to rebuild Cybertron and meet deep in the outskirts of the cities.

They spend their days repairing an old cabin they once dreamed of visiting and find they want it to be their new home.

Tensions are still high but with their planet now restored no bot wants to risk losing it and with the amount of mixed faction sparklings and conjunxs none will risk starting another war.

They know not to broadcast since they are high command and so they remain unseen together in public.

It’s Soundwave who brings the fuel with him and Rodimus who brings the building materials.

Rodimus is good with his servos when it comes to constructing and so he’s telling Soundwave how things go and the safest way to do things.

They finish everything in no time and before they know it they’re in the tub they’ve repaired soaking in oil cuddled together when the mood begins to shift.

Rodimus is looking into all four of Soundwaves optics and Soundwave can’t help but get lost in Rodimus’s processor and spark beat.

They don’t think, they just feel.

They let their guard down just this once and the result is them spark bonding becoming conjunx.

Its not at all planned but its not something they can’t work around.

Truly they aren’t upset by it.

They just need a better excuse when both their leaders comm them wondering where they’ve gone off to and why they won’t be back for a few months.
