I just realized I never posted my full piece for @meriwether-zine ! Unfortunately I think leftover sales are already over, but it was a pleasure to work with them and I’m really proud of this short comic :)

The Meriwether Zine was focused on the anemo boys in modern AU settings, so my comic was a concept for a Spy x Family-esque secret identity AU with the Inazuma trio.

By day, Wanderer is a college student. He tutors a middle schooler who seems to know a lot more than she should, named Nahida. By night, he is the information broker Buer’s assistant.

By day, Kazuha works in a tea shop. He frequents a specific alleyway very often, where a stray cat always greets him. By night, he’s a member of the Cruz Fleet, a gang led by Beidou.

By day, Heizou is an investigative journalist, and he is actually hired to do this, but he’s nosy, and has good intuition, and the police have gotten so used to working with him that he has his own badge and everything.

Of the three of them, only Heizou knows their secret identities.

I do really enjoy this concept! I don’t know if I’ll draw more for it though since it’s been quite while.

I’m back at it again with the ASL crossover AUs

Predictably, this time it’s cookie run kingdom :)

So putting ASL into CRK, i thought the most fitting location to be their hometown would be the Creme Republic since it also has this clear class divide and split between the upper city and the back alleys and lower city. Since the Creme Republic was established by Vanilla Kingdom refugees settling into an existing seafaring civilization, there's also some precedent there for sailing and ample inspiration for the three of them to become pirates.

Starting with Blueberry Custard (Sabo), he's a runaway child of House Custard, which has a seat on the Convocation of Elders. The heir having run away to sea and been presumed dead, Custard Cookie would eventually adopt Clotted Cream Cookie from House Scone to fill the empty seat and gain political power through Clotted Cream Cookie's achievements. I like to think that though Blueberry Custard holds a decent amount of resentment as a whole towards House Custard and the noble families of the Republic, he acknowledges that Clotted Cream Cookie's work as Consul at least attempts to manage some problems with the state of the Republic.

Rubber Fig (Luffy) and Chili Crisp (Ace) are both descendants of dragons from the Dragon's Valley, but do not have the ability to transform into a dragon. They merely retain the slitted pupils and ridiculous strength of the dragons. Chili Crisp in particular definitely descends from some of the spicy cookies near the Dragon's Valley. Blueberry Custard doesn't have any dragon blood in him, but he has slitted pupils anyways because he's a bit insane at all times :)

Gameplay-wise, I imagine Sabo as a Charge cookie since he's a frontliner that hits quite hard. I debated between a few different classes for Ace since fire can be quite versatile, but decided on him as a Bomber cookie since he would deal great damage in skills. Despite being a Bomber, he's still prioritized to the front because he wants to be Up Close and Personal when he throws fire at your face. Finally, Luffy reminds me a little bit of Moon Rabbit: squishy but very robust and tanky, so he's a Defense cookie. Altogether, they don't make a super viable team comp, but they do get a buff from being placed on the same team. If only the three of them are on a team, Luffy is the one that gets the middle position even though he's Defense because Ace and Sabo want to protect him :)
