not a submission, but I was just curious about where you found the flags for the “black queer solidarity” banners. I just wanted to save some for myself for pfps and stuff. I’ve only been able to find some ugly ass flags and nothing else 😭

The entire flag is designed to look like a beach! The white line in the middle is where the ocean meets the sky, and the lace stripes are meant to look like the waves washing up on sand.

So yknow how I said I used to do flags in like 2017? Yeah... I made this one ages ago.... I've been seeing concerns for years now, how it was eyestrain-y (which...yeah) and how it resembled the M4P flag

Hopefully, this is better! I also changed the cat motif since catgender gained a lot of popularity, and I do not want people to think I copied them, or it is a type of catgender. This is it's own separate thing.

It is so wonderful to see people still using this, and I hope people still enjoy the flag now that it's changed :)

Meaning of the Stripes

The meaning of the stripes by colour:

Hot pink - Represents Child Abuse Survivors

Pink-ish orange - Represents Failure and Disobedience (Not being good enough.)

Orange - Represents Discomfort (The discomfort the term "brat" brings.)

Light orange - Represents the peace brought from reclaiming the term "brat."

Light yellow - Represents reclaiming the term "brat."

The meaning of the stripes by design:

["We/us/our" refers to every child abuse survivor]

The stripes are different sizes to symbolize the chaos of our trauma and the differences in our experiences.

The pink-ish orange and orange stripes are the smallest while the rest are bigger, showing how our lives can grow bigger than our trauma. These two stripes are still included despite their less than ideal meanings, as I think it is important to show how our trauma can affect us and the way we view ourselves.

The stripe in the middle has a heart to show how much the term means to us, and it's a lace heart to show how reclaiming the term softens it's meaning. The stripe with the heart is light yellow because reclaimation is the main theme of the flag.
