*SLAMS DOWN ON TABLE* IT’S DONE AND NOW I CAN FINALLY slEEP

I love Ed Sheeran’s song “Photograph” and I wanted to do something special for Sousuke’s birthday because he’s my beef summer sausage… and while it could have been something short and sweet I decided to torture myself and do the ever popular and probably overused zombie apocalypse AU… with a SouRin flavor l-lol.

Basically they’ve known each other since they were kids, then one day all hell broke loose in their home town when the zombie apocalypse struck, and one day while trying to evacuate the city they ended up separated from each other and then spent five years trying to reunite and survive. Oh, and yeah, they’ve had those cheesy lockets since they were kids too. So I guess they’re never really alone! … Buuuuuut Sousuke has a secret and yeah. A-at least they found one another in the end??

Sourin Quick Write #1

Rin is detail oriented. He catches and often remembers the habits of those around him. He knows, for example, that whenever Sousuke is lying, he’ll shrugs his shoulders and lean to his right. He knows that his best friend prefers to tie his left shoe before his right one. He knows that his roommate wears a lot of blue - the guy owns six blue t-shirts, three blue jackets, as well as a pair of dark blue convers.

Rin also knows that they’re all the same person, and that, as a matter of fact, he wasn’t really detailed oriented. He was just very close to Sousuke, and he had happened to pick up on all these little things since they’d known each other for almost their entire lives. Rin was so close to him, they even slept in the same bed. They even wore matching rings.

Okay. Rin lied. They didn’t wear matching rings even though it’d be nice to; but they did sleep together. So he lied again. Sousuke wasn’t just his roommate, or his best friend - he was Rin’s boyfriend. His boyfriend of five years, according to their calendar. Five years would seem like a lot to a person if they’d only known their lover for that certain time. But to Rin? Five years is nothing compared to the twenty-two years he has spent with Sousuke. They learned how to ride their first bikes together. They learned how to read together. They learned how to swim together. They learned how to kiss together. They learned how to hold the others hand with a feeling much stronger than just for crossing the street. In those twenty-two years they learned how to love one another. And right from the very start, Rin knew.

He knew that he loved Sousuke. And that Sousuke, loved him.

A pair of matching rings. Not like the ring pop Rin gave to Sousuke when they were ten. It was so much more than that.

Matching rings was a big deal to Rin. It was like the icing on top of the cake. The final touch to their happily ever after. That one detail really did matter to him, and he really hoped that Sousuke knew that. Though, he doesn’t know if Sousuke is even ready to pop the question. He could ask him, but maybe Sousuke had it all planned out already. Rin would just go and ruin it for the both of them.

It’s these kinda thoughts that float in Rin’s head as he unlocks the door and enters into their house. He kicks off his shoes before slipping off his socks and shuffling towards the kitchen. He has to prepare their dinner. What did Sousuke say he wanted? Rin can’t remember, so he checks his phone. He rereads their earlier texts, and scrolls down the chat.

“Ah. He wanted curry.”
