"You did everything you could have, Judd. They knew that. They knew that no matter what, you had them." He couldn't really contest the emotions. How many losses still haunted him? How many faces and voices still greeted him when he tries to sleep? So instead, reassurance. He moved closer, stopping when his shoulder bumped the older man's, watching him carefully as he tried to think of how to ease his aching, even if just slightly. "Tell me about them?" His voice was low, no pressure behind the request as he moved sit across from Judd instead, in case he wanted to talk. He knew better than to expect it. Growing up with Dean taught him that one. But the offer and the way he adjusted, he hoped... would make Judd less uncomfortable with the idea. "You know about my dad and my brother and Cas... but I don't know anything about the 126 pre-Owen Strand. And if you ever... think maybe talking might help... I'd love to learn about them."

you know what i miss about writing? i miss sam. i miss my connection to him. and i know it's still here, just dormant. but, damn. this past year has been so damn hard and i am so sad that just as i was getting back to my groove, getting back into writing on my blogs, it all went downhill so fast. i miss my friends and the release and the rush of new things to do, new ideas to explore and new stories to tell. i miss being able to exist past work and sleep.
