I have a Stellium in the 8th house (sun, Venus, Mars and Mercury.) What are common traits or how this would effect someone?

When someone has a house stellium they have an overabundance of energy in the themes of that house. It is wise if you take that energy and pour it into the opposite house of the stellium for balance. Yours would be the 2nd house (our possessions, what we value, material goods, earnings, finances, being grounded to Earth). The 2nd house doesn’t have to be superficial, it can mean material things, but can also mean owning our emotions/feelings, needs/wants, pasts and overall, our whole selves. 

 An 8th house stellium calls for a need to be in control of your own resources and finances, because if you are not, money/finances can plague you (so putting that energy into 2nd house themes can be very beneficial for you). Furthermore, you also have an innate knowledge of the deeper, darker and more occult subjects in life. Death, surgery, medicine, regrowth/regeneration, psychoanalysis, people’s taboos/inner thoughts, trauma, crime, and sexual themes can interest you. I do warn that any obsessions to something uncontrollable will make your life harder (even if you are drawn to it). There can be problems with sexuality, trauma, death, and spirituality. You possess a true gift of being able to see through facades, and deceit, you see the real meaning/motivation behind things. You are the first person to see through a fake smile, or a fake laugh, you can see the pain behind that fake smile, or the uncomfortableness behind that fake laugh. This is an intuitive stellium. You can be a natural healer, because you have energy that can heal the weak, or wounded. Since you are so intuitive, you can feel and sense other people’s pain, which can feel like a curse at times since you can attract people that will drain you in some way. In fact, this can cause you great psychological and physical distress. People (even strangers) seem to come to you to vent their problems, even though they don’t always understand why (but it is mostly due to the unconscious energy you put out). Be careful of other people’s motives, and have strong boundaries in those situations. It’s interesting because it’s like you have an antenna picking up on all the waves of unconscious thoughts, and emotions around you. When your intuitive abilities are more developed, you will be able to instantly feel if a person is dangerous or a negative energy, and on the other side, you can usually feel a good-hearted person too. 

This makes for a great detective, doctor, researcher, surgeon, or therapist. It also makes for a great CEO, banker, accountant, inheritance manager, lawyer or money manager. You can either use your gifts to manipulate others to gain power and control, or to heal others and help the less fortunate. You can help people work through their darker/deeper issues (like trauma, death, taboo, etc) to finally heal and change themselves for the better. The key here is balance. If you over exert yourself trying to save others, and feeling so much pain then you can easily burn-out. Then your gifts can be used for the wrong (sometimes without you even realizing it). You need to learn that you don’t always need to take on other people’s hurt, it is their own karma/baggage to deal with, not your own. Just because you possess this gift, doesn’t mean you always need to use it, set FIRM boundaries, and practice self care.

With your Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars being in the 8th house, your love/desire nature, sexual needs, ambition, ego, energy, drive, identity, thought processes, and communication styles all revolve around 8th house themes. You are probably interested in the mysteries of life, and solving them. Your thoughts can turn dark quick, but you can also bring brilliant insight to an issue that no one thought of before. You are magnetic, and a powerful sexual being. People seem attracted to you for some reason, and you ooze power/sex. You are an incredibly private person, who seems secretive. You have problems with freely giving out trust, and you firmly believe that trust is earned (but even then you may not fully trust them completely).
