thinking about Void and Psychic’s first meeting.

thinking about Void catching sight of him next to Dearest, later engaging in conversation with him because truthfully it’s a little funny that this guy dresses so much like Void. especially seeing that he apparently works for the Dearests. Void would be flattered if he thought it was intentional. thinking about him learning how devoted Psychic is to Dearest and first becoming irritated, then curious. drawn, even more so than he was by the blue jacket. it’s almost embarrassing. but why does this guy actually like Dearest so much, when all Void’s ever heard about him is the abuse anyone who’s worked for him could write books about? this is something novel. wonder what Psychic is like outside of his bootlicking duties. wonder if Void’s magnetic personality could ever pull this man away from his master.

thinking about Psychic noticing Void to his own dismay, because there’s something about him that gets everyone’s attention. his charm, his voice, his smiles, so unbelievably entrancing it’s almost unnatural. it is unnatural. at a certain point it just becomes absurd, like he’s a vaccum made to swallow their attention. but it’s useful, Psychic supposes, for someone like Void. a form of manipulation. a product of his fame that feeds into the fame ever more. but why is he talking to Psychic now? not that Psychic is particularly flattered or even cares about Void’s opinion of him, but— the outfit. oh, that’s embarrassing. for the both of them. can he help it if he likes blue? he’s got a whole aesthetic going on here, and now he looks like a cosplayer. tough luck, Void doesn’t own the color blue. why is he trying so hard to draw Psychic in, win him over. because of his beef with Dearest? is this his… manipulation tactic? why is it almost working. this IS unnatural. and Psychic wants to know why. he needs to understand. confound his curiosity; he turns to leave.

“hey wait, c’mon, we should be friends.”

“why.”

“…it’d be funny, that’s why.”

“what makes you think i’d want to be friends with you?”

“everyone wants to be friends with me. i know you see how they react when i show up. c’mon. i don’t actually think you’d ever like me more than your loaths— uh. your boss. but wouldn’t this be funny?”

“…i suppose it doesn’t have to be serious to count.”

“count?”

“yes. don’t worry about it.”

“well, glad to make your acquaintance, Psychic. here’s my number. yeah, my business number. look, text me and i can give you my personal one. i’m not passing it around in public.”

“…fair enough. pleased to meet you, A.C. Void.”

“just Void, friend.”

“Void.”

it’s not what Dearest meant when he said make some friends, but it’s something. it might even prove an advantage. Psychic will figure out how to explain this later.
