Huskerdust by episode 4: We had a misunderstanding that we then talked about in order to make up. We were honest about our feelings, let each other in, and even had a duet together! I, Husk, no longer feel like Angel is making fun of me by hitting on me, and I, Angel, no longer feel like Husker is rejecting me when he talks about boundaries. We are now kind to each other and get along really well!

before i leave for school today i want to say something: i think a point that a lot of myth nerd people miss is that at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you want to label achilles and patroclus' relationship as because it will always be fundamentally queer. these are two men who love each other so intensely one is willing to risk his own life to protect the other one's glory and reputation and the other one is willing to sacrifice his godlyhood and immortality to avenge the other's death. their love for each other breaks almost everything that the people expected from heroes and demigods as we see in plato's symposium -- achilles killing hector and not caring that it meant he had basically been reduced to any other mortal person is the most shocking part of it all, even for the people back then, since he's been fighting to maintain his glory and honor for so long, for the entire iliad in fact, but is willing to throw it all into the air the exact moment his beloved patroclus is killed. it doesn't matter if what they felt for each other was platonic, familial, queerplatonic or romantic, the story in itself is queer in its very roots and has always resonated with the lgbtq community and to try and make it seem like we are foolish for thinking of them as lovers is to disregard the importance that their story has to all of us.

"I love you, too"

I often headcanon that it is Connor who confesses his love to Hank first, but by this moment Hank is also immensely in love with Connor and is preparing to confess his feelings to him too, but Connor is ahead of him and imagine how relieved Hank feels at this moment: he is also loved, he was probably preparing himself to be rejected, but he heard the confession that he dreamed of. Hank is a strong man, but I think at that moment his legs would probably have weakened and he had to hug Connor to not sink to the floor. Everything turned out to be easier than he imagined. Connor loves him, and Hank doesn't need anything else because from now on they will be happy together forever.

For Connor it was easier, it was easier for him to guess that Hank had feelings for him, because he is an android detective and he had no reason to think Hank wouldn't love him back. However, preconstructing the situation and hearing "I love you too" is completely different. Especially to see Hank's happy eyes, seeing him blushing, and his barely noticeable, but sunny smile, seeing which Connor immediately realized that for this smile alone he was ready to do anything.

Nivellen’s eyes fell on the Witcher as he took in every word that uttered from his lips. He nodded his head slowly as he twisted his tusked mouth. 

“You broke his heart.”

Geralt did not say a word. Instead he lowered his head towards the floor, avoiding his friend’s prying gaze. But Nivellen did not need to hear the answer to his assumptions, for Geralt’s silence proved his words to be true. 

Nivellen walked over towards him, resting his firm hand on Geralt’s shoulder. He gazed out of the window in front of him and watched as the snow fell like petals onto the ground, painting his garden white with each drop. 

“It seems my friend,” Nivellen spoke, a dreary sigh parting his lips. “That no matter how hard we try to suppress the beast in side of us, we will always be cursed to hurt the ones we love.” 

Geralt shrugged his friend’s hand off his shoulder, an exasperated huff concealing his displeasure at his friend’s words. But Nivellen noticed and could not help but stare at him with pity.

“Take it from me, my boy.” Nivellen continued, “a life without love… is a life well spent.” 

And with that Nivellen left the Witcher alone in the dining hall with nothing but the crackling fireplace to keep his fragile heart warm.
