In my au, Ryoko and Cloud lived in the same village (Nebelheim). Ryoko was the daughter of Cloud's neighbors, and she tried many times to become his friend only to be declined. when they turned 14 they finally got at least acquainted, and Ryoko joined SOLDIER when she was 19 (her birthday is september 4th, cloud's is august 19th i think, so he's a few weeks older) and cloud supposedly joined at 14.

In this AU, cloud and ryoko fought sephiroth and by then, they were already together (:3) and both 21 at this time.

During the fight, sephiroth took note of Ryoko’s strength and decided to use it to his own advantage. so, by force, he injected her with some of Jenova’s cells and took mental control of her body, forcing her to attack Cloud.

she did her best to fight off his control, it could be seen as her eyes would rapidly flicker from her original purple color to Sephiroth’s cat like teal in rapid sucession.

Cloud refused to attack back, just parrying and evading her attacks. this annoyed Sephiroth and he fought harder for control over Ryoko’s mind.

this went on for several hours until sephiroth and his idiot self whacked her in the head with the hilt of Masamune and interrupting the connection .
