Minor Setback
I had to delete the log for this month I was writing because of some small setback I encountered! It turns out, some of my files were corrupted including some WIPs and scripting...The most recent uncorrupted files are from April 2022, which is not that long ago!
This must be a sign to do better and to save very often on external devices...
Please give me some time to catch up to where I was to be able to do actual logs and show what I wanted to create, because this will take a while...The more I think of it, the worse it gets, so I will stay positive about this. If it was done once, it can be done again and maybe better!

Oh I am sad right now orz...I actually had some good progress I was writing about for this month’s log! I lost a lot of information recently in a forced computer reset, over 600 MB of information...The last backup that is not corrupted for RPGMaker is in mid-2022
I suppose if it was done once, it can be done again...Besides, it was just a prototype. It is nothing to be upset about! 
Maybe I will even experiment with use a different program... ...And be sure to save everything on hard drives every day I work on scripting and images...
Oh I was even writing new script when it happened, this is a setback...The more I think about it, the less tedious it seems and the more fun it becomes to try to recreate what I remember about it. Maybe I can find a non-corrupted newer version somewhere...Or else I will update something else 1 March
I guess I have a lot to do now!

I’m sick...I should keep track of my files, since I lost some in a device transfer recently! Nothing is lost that I cannot do again, so it is not a worry at all
Though, I really thought being sick would not get in the way of this...I guess it did, in the end...There will be no log next month, thank you

Devlog 10 - Far Away
My queue did not work! Well...I hope it is okay late. 
To be honest, I only have WIPs to show in this log. I said in previous log that I wanted to return to normal format, and it is not the case so far that it will return...
I have a few things I want to add to prototype, only small things. Just to make the prototype colors not clash so much! 
The biggest update is that I am working on a website to put characters and general doodles! This will help with organization of images and text while also not being cluttered or difficult to search. I have always wanted to have a website as a kid, so this is fun...
It is not an excuse, although I feel I should mention some things currently: I am working on school things and also mental health status, and it is taking up more time than anticipated. They took a lot of time last month, and I think it will also be into this month. 
However, I think I can work through it. Or, more like “I want to work through it”. 
It is not good to let things stop you right when it gets hard, and it is also not good to force yourself to do things that hurt you. Too much of either is not a good habit in the end, is it? Let’s find that balance. When I find my balance, I’ll work so well once again...I want to show people nice things from my heart.

Devlog 9 - Far Away
So, last devlog seemed messy, so this log is better! More organized, at least...I hope...
When trying to make a new bust for third main character, my drawing application crashed twice during. I had to restart...(It was probably my computer’s way to say I should let it have a break...)

*Waves my hands in a really flashy manner* New bust is complete!
Now, main characters have one bust each. There is one more bust for the characters I should finish for the prototype, then working on tilesets, then dialogue...Then a definitive name for this character orz 
I’m trying to think of more to say, that is really it, though. I want to resume normal log format soon, I don’t know if it is a possibility soon...
Next month, there will be no devlog. I’m going to work on some other things external and maybe that will turn out well! Well, the only way to know is to find out

Devlog(...?) 8 - Far Away
Oh man, this is how I have been feeling lately...

So, I will say that I’m having fun working on sprites for trees and outdoor tiles! (Not done, seen with the thick outlines...) Almost too much fun...I’m a perfectionist, and...! I have to stop it, with trying to make things perfect for myself. Or I will never show progress! Even the doodles and the funny scribbles...Oh, man...
I also figured a way to draw sprites that I like a lot, they are smaller. Maybe I will experiment with smaller sprites...So many possibilities, so many things to do!
...And all of the time to do it. This is a passion project, after all! I’ll take my time and make something nice. No deadline or timeframe, just having fun! I’m sure someone will find it fun, too. 
For now, straying from a usual format is okay. (And, in reality, I am multi-tasking, too!)

General Update 2 + Devlog 7 - Far Away
A log!! And the one-year anniversary of this blog! *Party horns* I wish I could make a drawing for anniversary ;-;
This log is not focused on images, mostly general... There was a two-month gap in updates for May and June...I'm sorry, there were health things in that time (I am not 100% still) To be honest, I do not have much to show for bust images and sprites...
In the time of April until now, dialogue and certain plot was worked on. As well as that, branches for dialogue are being created (Branches are so much, so complex ;-;) Unless I show screenshots of dialogue, there is not much to show
To make up for no image progress, I made an image last week(?) that I put on an in-progress external blog

I'm so tired...Doing small progress and making logs makes me happy, so I will continue to do it Next time, I will be sure to have something to post during the absence

Devlog 6 - Far Away
There is no April Fool’s Day joke here! (Mostly because I can’t really think of one,,,) Today is an update! Though, I will make it short today...
*Claps hands together very loud* I have solved the mystery of Almagest’s hair antenna, at last orz and made a silly sprite for them

I don’t know why that took so long...But! It has been done! Next, I want to focus on bust images and work on my other idea too...I have the sprites all finished for that concept, so it seems I am mostly caught up with both progress! 
Oh man, now that I am caught up, it feels very nice- Now I can adjust colors and sizes of things to make them work well!
From this point on, I think updates will become more tricky to show image-only? I feel they would be seen better in video or gif format, hm...Recording gifs is indeed very powerful, and once I have sounds, even more powerful...

Devlog 5 - Far Away
(This is a long one because of media, I apologize in advance,,,)
Another month, another log! People say that, right? No? Maybe lumberjacks say it... Everything has been going very fine with this! Excited to learn new things, even if it is a bit silly... Well, except for this sprite I accidentally made when I mistranslated some pixels...even more silly

Making the prototype area into pixels, I was amazed that it looked like the sketchbook doodle I had done a long, long time ago ... And!! I learned how to record my computer screen!

*Anything (except the bust) that has a black outline is new, and being edited for colors
Pancake is the focus sprite right now since they have the largest color palette. Next is Almagest’s sprite, which will also be looked at for any palette disagreements
Oh!! And and! NPC design, I can finally post you ;-;

Devlog 4 - Far Away
Hello! 
For this update, I wanted to show a placeholder area where I am testing out colors and tiles together. Something occurred where I do not have a drawing tablet and a few digital sketches on a flashdrive for now...
As an attempt to “just get things down”, I placed some colors together as a sort of palette to see how well they looked together! This also includes a small sprite for Pancake that I will have to make adjustments to (and possibly make a different size since this sprite is very small...)

(I want to change the color of the grass and palette of the flowers, since, in my eyes, they blend together...And make color adjustments to Pancake’s color palette since they also blend in with the path)
Once I learn how to record screens, I want to show how the characters can move around (Oh and maybe work on autotiles in the future, that looks so fun!)
Surprising to me, I had some trouble with Almagest’s sprite, since their hair antenna(?) had to be cut to fit into the parameters for the smallest sprites. I can always redo sprites and adjust for size, and with that I can adjust sizes of tiles if necessary. Or! I can also cut off the antenna in sprite in a way to make them recognizable still...But at what cost ;-;
Nonetheless! To visit the previous devlog list:
[O] 1.  Begin demonstrating visual of basic world - In-Progress! The prototype/placeholder world will be completed over time, as I figure out which colors in a palette work well together!

[O] 4. Start to draw prototype bust images - There is not much to say...Also In-Progress! 
[O] 5. Show more main character sprites - With Almagest’s small sprite, I have to tweak some details a bit, hm...
By next devlog (By next month):
1. Complete some prototype autotiles
2. Show design of some NPC’s (Saved on a different flashdrive!)
3. Work on Almagest’s sprite sizing...

Update 1 - Moratorium
It is a new year, and a time for new things!
I like to have multiple things at once to focus on, yet I know limits. So, because of that, I want to introduce my second project to work on at the same time: “Moratorium”. 
In comparison to “Far Away”, this is a concept that has been developing as long as I can remember. It has a special place in my heart, and has much love in it. It means more to me than I would care to say here...I’m actually very excited to work on both projects together! 
I already have some outdated concepts for sprites, and an outdated video of some joke test dialogue on YouTube from somewhere in 2020 and before. I want to do some comparisons soon with more updated images and see how things progress! I think this will be a lot of fun, and I think it will be enjoyable. I hope to share this with others, maybe it will be nice! 
There were no images in this update because I tend to not like to put progress in public (and I like to make small background updates that aren’t easy to notice!). With time, I want to change that and be more open with talking about projects...I think it will become more like that in the future!

Devlog 3 - Far Away
Hello! 
During this time, I am working on portraits I will use for a prototype of this game! The portraits are the images the characters will display when talking, so I think it might be better to say “bust images”, maybe? Class finals and exams were during November, and this is finals week for my school, so progress was slow but steady this month...
I have about fifteen rough drawings of portraits done, and from there I have narrowed some down to work on! Here is a page of four portraits I am working on currently, for example:

There are more pages, but they are very rough and not polished at all...Perhaps as I finish things, I will post them here? Oh that sounds fun...
Then! Visiting the previous devlog list:
[O] 1.  Demonstrate basic world - This will come in a later post, when I can visually demonstrate more of what the game is about! 
[X] 2.  Add main character information - This is done! Though, more information will be added the day I post it
[O] 3.  Design NPCs (Assess progress on NPC designs) - This is In-Progress, as I have two NPC designs I am working to finalize maybe this month!

This will be a long way to go, but I am confident in the passion I have. If I have to slow progress in order not to rush, then that is alright.
