I'm a housekeeper in a care home and sometimes that means I'm in laundry, which means I have 7 hours to do 61 people's daily laundry. Washing, drying, ironing, folding, delivering the laundry to individual rooms... It's a lot to do and it's very easy to get overwhelmed and flustered.

The key is to switch your mind off and let muscle memory do what it's doing and don't think about it. Just go off in a daydream.

So, naturally... I pretend I'm on Red Dwarf helping Kryten with laundry, and when I feel myself panicking because I stopped to think for a second, I start to imagine how Lister would tackle a mound of sheets which need folding and ironing, and that cheers me up.

Silly? Yes. But it works, the shift passes by in no time and I get everything done.
