i was born to have long distance friends but not in the age of the internet. i'll be like "i suck at maintaining long distance friendships" and people are like "well yeah humans weren't wired to be available to everyone at all times. sometimes it takes a few days or weeks to respond." and then i can't go on because i wish i responded to people within weeks. i was born to be a penpal on increasingly dangerous and strange expeditions that you hear from twice a year in lengthy letters which assure you that i'm alive and not much more.
i read your texts huddled in my sleeping bag in the mountains like letters scented with the perfume of a lover. they find me froze to death with my phone open to your most recent music recommendations i forgot to tell you i liked a lot.

talking to people while holding a beverage is awesome because you don't have to know what to do with your hands and when you don't know what to do with your face you can just take a sip

ppl are so annoying “you can’t paint ur bedroom pink you’re an adult” i did not spend my entire life waiting to grow up and control my life to paint my bedroom beige
#😌😌😌😌😌😌😌#moved into my own apartment this year. first time living without roommates#painted every room pink except for the bathroom#my dad Hates it. several people in my life are making fun of me for it#(lovingly or like. in a sliiightly condescening way)#but i am SO HAPPY#REALLY want to paint the bathroom pink too (im so sad the place we went to didnt sell any pink tiles. i wish i could have gotten pink tiles#(painted the kitchen tiles pink and its just. pure joy every morning when the sunlight hits them)#(but the bathroom tiles are newwwww and greyish white and i shouldnt paint themmmm) (but i COULD paint the walls & ceiling............)#i put these crystal thingies in all my windows so now theres rainbows everywhere when the suns out&i think that means my apartment is gay<3#i put a disco ball in the bathroom and then another one in the living room just because i could.#i bought a vintage record player online for like. 15 bucks so i can be pretentious & have fun with it.#only have one record because damn. those are expensive. but ill ask for another one for my birthday maybe. ill grow a collection in slow mo#im going to make art to put on my walls and i WILL enjoy both the process & the results.#even if it inevitably ends up looking kinda messy (<- not an artist)#i bought pink light bulbs for my flower lamp. i found golden and pink heart-shaped knobs for my cupboards#i am using my late grandmas slightly hideous wild rose tea set with green handles and pink flowers on it#whenever people dont approve (in the quiet frowning way my dad does or my moms questions or some of my friends little jabs) i always think#god is this stupid? is this bad?? do i need to make this place look more put together?? am i a Fake adult??? but then im home alone and#i look around and i am So comfortable. and there are still boxes everywhere and i still need a dining table and chairs and an actual desk#but i am so Happy. and it just. feels so me#my friend who helped me wallpaper & made little jabs about my plans to paint everything pink lives a few hours away and asked for updates#so i sent her photos & she said it looks really cute & whimsical and that although things are not done yet she can absolutely see my vision#and that really made me go :))))))))#q
