not even gonna lie. it often really boils my blood how much certain people in the fandom like treating dash as a Fucking Joke and nothing else when she's the -only- member of the‏‏‎ ‎mane‏‏‎ ‎six‏‏‎ ‎they‏‏‎ ‎do that for. she's Ugly she's Smelly she's Gross she's Mean she's just some sort of walking meme that her friends‏‏‎ ‎barely‏‏‎ ‎tolerate! a lot of the people i'm thinking of are also hardcore‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎flutterdash‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎shippers‏‏‎ ‎who practically make them into like. an unhappy heterosexual marriage caricature. ohhhhh she's so gross she's so nasty what does this beautiful perfect angel who totally deserves better even see in her! (and‏‏‎ ‎to be clear i love‏‏‎ ‎fluttershy‏‏‎ ‎and don't even always‏‏‎ ‎dislike‏‏‎ ‎flutterdash‏‏‎ ‎there's just a Specific Dynamic i despise. i also dislike when people are like. married to one specific canon x canon ship to the degree that they never even acknowledge other ones.) she doesn't have to be people's favorite i truly don't care. that one fanfic author i like has admitted she's their least favorite of the‏‏‎ ‎mane‏‏‎ ‎six‏‏‎ ‎but they still put Effort into her character because they can acknowledge she's not two dimensional and has (GASP!) positive traits. i am just getting sick of people depicting all the other characters with rich inner lives and neither perfect nor irredeemably flawed and then dash gets "she wears axe body spray hahaha"

i got shelley's love ending and as an ocd-er her plotline hit close to home for me. mainly the whole "bad things could happen at any time and you can't prevent them so just get used to it" thing. the best treatment for ocd according to most people is acceptance but it's. haaaaard for me. i want to Fix the things i don't want to believe that the only way is just to live with them...but when i worry myself sick over something i can't change i do nothing but make myself feel like shit. i like to imagine we can help each other with similar problems...

this is suuuuuch a minor thing it's not like a community wide Issue that Needs To Be Addressed but all of the new ship templates i see going around seem to nearly always make the assumption that your f/o has a standard body plan (picking their favorite parts to be touched or your favorite thing about their body or whatever) and it just gets on my nerves because it's another way in which everyone assumes everyone's going to have the standard human Normal looking (or at least normal Enough) f/os. they're also usually the people‏‏‎ ‎using‏‏‎ ‎yumeship‏‏‎ ‎which probably means nothing but it does make me think about how i hardly ever see the people who Exclusively use the term yume‏‏‎ ‎shipping with less conventionally attractive characters. which again. could mean nothing. but i think about it.
