I’m feeling self indulgent so I’m going to talk about my babies

Sparrow 

Rarely ever smiles. Doesn’t see the point in it if he doesn’t feel genuinely happy or excited by anything. 

But when he does his entire face just lights up. He’s got dimples in both cheeks. Crinkles in the corners of his eyes. He’s adorable. 

It’s the sort of enthusiasm you can’t fake and he’s just radiating it. 

Tends to happen when he hears his favourite songs on the stereo, when Robin nails a program, when he sees these animals (bats, otters, raccoons, ferrets, he would love a ferret for a pet, guinea pigs, hamsters, dogs). 

Show him a video about that bat sanctuary in Australia and he’ll die. Tiny bat babies drinking milk from tiny baby bottles while snuggled up in blankets with their big eyes and floppy ears. 

Bleaches his hair ash blond and doesn’t do a good job of it. His dark roots still show. 

Never makes eye contact with strangers or people who are being too loud. He either stares at his hands, his feet or looks over the shoulder of the person talking to him, making him seem rude. 

Extremely awkward in social situations. He can’t make small talk at all. Puns and slang go over his head completely. He often needs encouragement to talk, for someone to reassure him, “No I think you’re doing great, I’d love to hear more.” With new people he tends to stumble over his words and if they laugh at him or make him more uncomfortable it takes longer for him to finish a sentence. With someone patient and encouraging, he’ll start to relax. 

He asks before he hugs someone, or even fist bumps them or high fives them. He hates it when people touch him without checking if it’s okay first, so he always asks first. Even with people he’s known for years, is good friends with or even his so, he’s going to ask first before he touches them. 

Loves soft ambient music. Sometimes when he’s feeling overwhelmed he just lies on his bed in the dark and stares up into the ceiling while ambient music plays in the background. To him this is relaxing. 

Has trouble expressing emotions. Always looks and sounds depressed when he could actually be perfectly fine. Feelings, they’re tricksy things.

Danilo 

Loves sunflowers. Sunflowers are beautiful. 

Can rap. He actually wanted to be a rapper but gave up on that idea after he became serious with figure skating. 

Is the type of person who just can’t be insulted. Anything that’s said to him he’s just like, “Cool,” and moves on with his life. His family were the most critical of him and suffocated him, and he’s determined to not let other people treat him the same way again. 

It’s his life he’s going to ruin it as many times as he needs to before he gets it right. 

Tends to speak in this lazy monotone voice but then has this high pitch giggle that just erupts. He cries when he laughs hard enough. 

He was told throughout all of school and at home that he’d amount to nothing, that he was stupid and useless. You can imagine how smug he feels when he gets through to finals or wins medals. He’s glad that he chose to prove them all wrong instead of doing what they expected him to do; be a coward and not try at all. 

Loves spicy food, especially spicy bean burgers. 

He’s such a sarcastic butthole, but he is genuinely caring and compassionate. At the same time though, he’s rather blunt and to the point. He doesn’t see the point in coddling people or protecting their feelings if it gets in the way of them improving. 

Never raises his voice even when he’s angry. 

Instead he speaks slowly and clearly about why he’s furious, with his body tense and eyes narrowed. 

Doesn’t use sex appeal in his routines because he genuinely believes he doesn’t have any.

Hallo everyone. I haven't been active recently and that's largely due to me having to have an emergency surgery. I'm totally fine, the whole procedure went well, I'm just at home recovering now.  The thing is I'm exhausted a great chunk of the time and don't have the energy to write. So I think I'll only do a few headcanons and leave the scenarios/fics until I'm feeling better. 

It was suggested that I expand on the Yurio and so being accidental rivals idea and I have. That's become a multi chap fic that I'll begin posting as soon as I'm back to my laptop.

I also got another fic request for Yuuri that I will get around to as soon as I can. 

Thank you to everyone that followed and liked my posts. :) New content will be slower coming but it'll be here, like the little train that could, just chugging along.

Also what are your Oc's like? What fandom?

I have a lot of ocs for a lot of fandoms because it’s fun :) Don’t understand why people get their knick-knacks all bunched up because of it. I get that there are some really bad authors who write really troubling things, like I remember a Suethor from Final Fantasy whose oc was blatantly homophobic (threatening to dismember a canon character for asking if she was gay), laughed at a girl who committed suicide because she was also interested in the same canon character as her oc and was a malicious, cruel person to pretty much everyone but her love interest and yet everyone loved her regardless and all her actions were justified and she was always in the right. 

If you figured out who I’m talking about then my sincerest apologies for reminding you. 

But the majority of oc creators are just having fun with their favourite fandoms so let them have fun. 

I’ll only talk about my Yuri on Ice ocs for now (thank you for asking!!) 

Okay so I have three so far. 

Danilo Avery Kiong Rioja who is a Filipino skater of Chinese, Spanish, Roma and English decent. When performing he’s just called Danilo Rioja. He’s 19 years old. He gets incredibly nervous when performing so he comes off as cold, aloof and has this air about him like he thinks he’s better than everyone. In reality, he’s trying desperately to appear confidant and like he knows what he’s doing. He’s a vegetarian and has dyslexia. 

Sparrow Atkinson is a English musician who composes the music for a friend’s free skate programs. He’s 24, has Asperger’s Syndrome and after their parents died in a car accident he became the sole guardian of his younger sibling Robin. He can sing, play the piano, guitar and bass and can actually ice skate. He and Robin both learned together but he didn’t have an interest in it as a career. 

Robin Atkinson is a gender-fluid 16 year old who is this goofy, lively person, the polar opposite of their older brother. Robin knows how to play piano and sing and when training or concentrating on something they tend to break into song under their breath. They don’t even realize they’re doing it half the time.

Hi again! A request for the Phitchit, Seung Gil Lee and Obetak, on trying to teach SO to skate for first time?

Hello sunshine :) 

Phichit 

Ice skating is kinda terrifying at first, right? I mean you’re basically gliding on thin blades attached to your shoes over frozen water. And I have my own personal reasons for being scared of ice skating, yes I’m legit scared, because I suffered a pretty nasty accident that left my elbow smashed and needing metal plating to fix. I’ve heard other horror stories from other former skaters and yeah, it can be terrifying. 

So let’s imagine that the so has heard these stories or at least is anxious about going out on the ice. But Phichit has the patience of a saint. He holds his so for as long as they need him to, carefully guiding them out onto the ice, using him as support. 

If they really needed to, of course he’d keep by the sides of the rink so they have the wall to catch should they stumble. 

And if they fall, he laughs but not in a mean way. Unless they seemed genuinely upset in which case he’ll assure them hey this happens to everyone, you’re okay. 

I just like to think of Phichit holding his so against his chest and whispering into their ear about how great they’re doing and they giggle nervously, only to loose their footing and slip but they’re still holding onto him so they both go down. They’re sprawled out on the ice, him on top of them, and they’re both laughing at how ridiculous they look. Phichit wishes he had his phone to take a selfie of them. 

Seung-gil 

Maybe at first he thinks his so is asking for lessons because they think they’re not impressive to him, or something along those lines. Maybe he mistakes it for them wanting more time with him, and he thinks maybe he’s neglected them. 

A lot of maybes here, eh? 

But no, in my opinion the so is genuinely curious about ice skating and wants to learn how to do it. They’re impressed by the speed, the jumps, the quads and the spins that the skaters pull off and they also want to understand the sport that Seung-gil is so passionate about. After all, there’s nothing sweeter you can do for your partner than show an interest in something they love. Even just asking about it can brighten up their whole day. 

Seung-gil, like Phichit, is patient with his so, he doesn’t laugh at them or get snappy when they mess up. He doesn’t always pick them up when they fall either because he knows they can get themselves up. But then they fall backwards when he’s right behind them and they land in his arms. They’re just looking up at him with a goofy expression and smiling and he smiles back, gently easing them upright. 

He totally imagines them pair skating one day, just not in competitions or on tv, in private. Where they only have each other and the rest of the world doesn’t matter in the moment. The thought makes his chest flutter.

He cries when they land a jump for the first time, he’s just so proud. He quickly wipes away the tears but the so caught him and they blow a kiss in response. 

Otabek 

I imagine him being a lot stricter than the other two when it comes to teaching his so how to skate. I think he’d be a firm but fair teacher, taking his so’s request to learn how to skate seriously. He doesn’t think it would be fair of him to take on that request and then goof off, you know? They asked him to teach them and he’s going to do so as best he can. 

Should they get nervous he’d understand. He’d offer gentle words of encouragement, assuring them that he’s there and he has them. 

They land a jump for the first time and he claps so hard and his usually expressionless face just melts into this big love struck grin and his so can’t help but feel smug about it. 

I’m sorry I don’t have a lot for Otabek, he’s a hard character for me to write. But thank you for the request.

*Raises hand* Will I get lynched if I admit that I’ve never played a Mario game in my life… ever? Or Sonic I grew up with Spyro the dragon and Tomb Raider. 

Yuuri

Secretly really good at video games. I imagine they’re a great stress reliever for him because they help him get out of his own head for awhile. He’d always be up for a game with his so. 

What the fuck is the blue shell? 

I’ve googled what the blue shell is. 

Should his so use the dreaded shell that looks like a screaming onion with a hat I think he’d be the most chill about it. Maybe even a little smug. Hahaha you felt threatened by me sort of way. He really wouldn’t care. 

Viktor 

Doesn’t really play video games at all. His so would have to go over the controls with him and go easy on him for awhile until he gets the hang of it. 

And at that he doesn’t really like video games, he doesn’t really see the point in them. But he’ll play with his so because he likes to see them happy and enjoying themselves. 

Is genuinely offended when the blue shell comes into play because how dare they??? He’d feel so betrayed. 

Yurio 

Not really too into games either but I can see him really liking simulation games like Animal Crossing, Sims and Harvest Moon. All the cat villagers are his favourite and he’s devastated when any one of them moves away. 

He’d get really competitive with his so and I can see him being a sore loser. He’d get into a little huff when he loses and his so has to give him cuddles and kisses. 

Is actually so pissed off when the blue shell is used on him like he gets so fucking mad. Ultimate gamer rage. His so has to hide their laughter.

Seung Gil relationship headcanons?

Thank you for requesting my favourite disgruntled bean pole. 

I don’t see him being very into PDA at all. To me he seems to be a very private person, someone who would become extremely uncomfortable having their more tender moments on display for everyone. He’d get annoyed with a so who wanted to parade their love around, I think he’d take it as they were making fun of their relationship. 

It’s pretty much canon that he has awful fashion sense, so his partner would have to pick out his outfits if they want him to look good for an event. But imagine him with a so who was equally useless with fashion and they both wear whatever’s most comfortable and look like two cozy dorks and God, that’s my aesthetic. 

If his so wanted to learn how to skate he’d totally teach them. And I can see him being incredibly patient with them. If they mess up and fall he doesn’t chide them, just helps them back on their feet and tells them, “Hey, it happens.” 

 He instinctively reaches for his so in busy streets and among crowds of people. He gently touches the small of their back, their elbows or their shoulders. A smile tugs at his lips when his so finds his hand and laces their fingers together. Hand holding is totally fine with him. When they’re totally alone, walking down a woodland path with Seung-gil’s dog on a leash, they’re pressed against each other, arm to arm and hands clasped tight. 

He’d be the type of partner who would want to learn a new hobby with his so, something for the two of them to do together. Like baking, cooking, or learn something new. If his so is from a different country and English isn’t their native language, he’s going to learn their native language. He’d also be pleasantly surprised and touched by a so who learns Korean for him. He can’t help but smile when they speak to him in Korean, even if it’s just, “Good morning,” (annyeong haseyo) or “good luck/try your best” (jal haebwa).

This is a crucial scene from Yuri on Ice. I felt that it was poignant, that it helped really tie some loose ends and revealed so much character depth. 

Do you think I’m funny yet? God I hope not.

Anyway back to the imagine I was attempting to type up before Seung-gil’s mating dance distracted me. 

Imagine long distance so with Seung-gil. They’re a figure skater too and they’re participating in competitions in other countries and Seung-gil likes to watch them live. His doggo watches too.

My absolute favourite headcanon is the one where Yuuri is the oblivious heart breaker because no-one had the courage to go up to him and ask him out, or even engage in conversation with him. 

So he’s left thinking that no-one likes him, finds him to be incredibly boring or he’s just not attractive. 

But it’s actually just; “He’s too beautiful for human eyes to handle.” 

Imagine his future so being one of these poor people. They get all nervous and tense around Yuuri and Yuuri takes it as, “I think they really don’t like me at all. It’s like they can’t stand to be around me.” The so only thinks, “Shit shit shit shit shit how does he always find me when I look my absolute worst???” 

No seriously how do your crushes always find you when you look horrible? How do people with cameras always find you when you look horrible?? How do your friends who love taking selfies always find you when you look horrible??? But when your dressed to impress, when you know you look gorgeous, no-one is around to witness it. So no-one believes it happened.

He is beauty, he is grace, he will punch you in the face.

But seriously imagine Yurio trying to impress his crush with his ballet skills, only for them to take it as him showing them up and embarrassing them. 

So he unknowingly starts a rivalry with his crush who is totally oblivious to his feelings for them. 

And because he’s so socially awkward and doesn’t know how to express his feelings, he continues with the whole rivalry shtick and in doing this he gets his crush to push themselves harder than they’ve ever done before, until they’re beating him. 

And he’s so proud. He can’t even hide how proud he is of them. There’s a fluttering in his chest and his cheeks feel warm and this genuine smile tugs at his lips and his so is taken away by how cute he is and then they realize they’ve got a crush on him. 

They have to go sit down and really think about things at that point.
