one of my new years resolutions was to get better at reading tarot

so after 5 months of whatever the hell i've been doing (no idea honestly how is it june) my cousin asks if i wanna get out my cards and do like back and forth readings bc she's debating getting a tarot deck (she only has an oracle deck)

so she asks for a love reading bc her cards refuse to answer for her and i'm like alright bet

well one thing i didn't mention was that one of the men she's been talking to is divorced

okay here's what i got in like 20 min of research:

Daisies bc they're associated with creativity, fire and joy, and they grow on volcanoes.

Chamomile bc they're related to daisies

Fennel used to light fire/torches

Nettle bc the stinging can be associated w/ fire

Cinnamon because it's technically a spice but it's a comforting spice? and that gives hephaestus vibes, also they're anti-inflammatory

Basil, clove, rosemary: pain relief and easily flammable (clove can be hazardous if burned so... don't do that.)

Tumeric also as pain relief but it's used in curry as a spice and I kind of associate spicy food with Hephaestus

Boys we finally cleaned up the coffee! Hephaestus did not tell me his had completely evaporated into a coffee paste at the bottom of the cup so oops.

I also gave them the option of throwing it away regularly or throwing it into the woods bc I feel weird about just throwing away food offerings.

Apollo wanted his heart truffle from Valentine's Day thrown into the woods so I threw it as hard as I could and it was very satisfying throwing something like that lol

Me: I feel so bad, I gave Apollo and Hephaestus coffee two months ago and haven't had the motivation to remove it from their altars

Hephaestus: we understand your struggle with motivation. You're okay, do it when you can :)

I wanna test my hypothesis that my clogged fucking sinuses and cough left over from my cold are caused by Apollo and Hephaestus wanting me to clean their altars.

But God damn decision fatigue has been a bitch lately. I'll be like oh maybe I'll finally do that oh wait I gotta wait till my family isn't home so I can wash everything and oh no I don't wanna trip over anything while I'm cleaning so let me clean my room first

Ugh I'm so dysfunctional I'm sure they understand but it's just a little frustrating.

I made Apollo and Hephaestus bracelets, but when I first made Apollo's I took forever to finish it because it was that really hard to tie fishing line type string, and then when I finally did I substituted string and broke it right before I actually finished it.

So when my wire came in so I could actually make good bracelets and necklaces, I made Hephaestus's first, because I feel like my offerings to him have been lacking. So I made his, and sit on it for a few days because Apollo's gave me so much trouble I was dreading remaking it the proper way.

Anyways. I get SUPER FUCKING SICK. And I had this like little shred of doubt like "there's no way Apollo made me sick. He wouldn't. :(" SO I ASK

"Hey Apollo did you make me sick?" hesitant yes. Then I see Hephaestus's bracelet. "... Did you make me sick because I made Hephaestus's bracelet better than yours." Yes.

Introduction!

I realize I never made an introduction post. So here it is!

Hi! My name is Oliver (he/him), I'm 22 years old and I am a Hellenic Polytheist.

I made this blog mostly to make silly posts about the deities I worship, and my interactions/worship with/of them. Bare in mind the majority of my posts are dramatized for entertainment.

I worship Hephaestus and Apollo, because of my love for art, and my struggles with my mental and physical health.

My worship to them is very silly and casual, because I personally feel in my worship that acting formal and traditional would hinder my ability to connect with them, and make worship feel like a chore rather than something I enjoy and look forward to.

I'm aware some people might find this disrespectful, but the gods haven't given me any signs that they find it disrespectful themselves so Imma keep doing what I'm doing. Everybody worships differently, and so long as nobody is being purposely disrespectful, I think we can get along.

The intense urge to make an altar for Artemis and Hermes, but knowing I shouldn't until I become more consistent with my worship is tough.

Broke: Apollo and Hephaestus's candles are burning like that because of the way they were made.

Woke: Apollo leaves a lot of wax on the glass because it makes his candle look like a sunset when I burn it. And Hephaestus doesn't leave any wax at all, because he's the God of fire and forge, so it burns hotter leaving no wax on the glass. :)

I seriously wonder what Apollo and Hephaestus think of my extremely casual way of speaking to them.

Like they're gods ofc, but I view my relationship with them as a friendship and I don't think it'd be authentic if I was referring to them so regally.

There's a time and a place, so I'm sure if I was directly asking for something I'd probably refer to them as Lords, and use epithets, but in the short time I've been worshipping I haven't directly asked for anything. I've just found stuff working out?

Idk. I feel like they don't necessarily care? Because I'm not speaking to them casually as a way to disrespect them, I'm doing it to feel closer to them and make worship come to me more naturally.

I shared a crumble cookie with Apollo and Hephaestus the other day, and I go to throw them out today bc I'm like hey I don't want bugs. I ask if it's okay, and Apollo is like "NO >:(" So I'm like "bro bugs. I don't want em." And compromise by saying I'll leave it for another day or two. Get to Hephaestus, ask him if I can throw it away. And he's like "... Maybe... No." And I'm like WTF I don't want bugs guyssss

Then I'm like "why the maybe- wait Hephaestus are you only wanting to keep your part of the cookie bc Apollo is keeping his", and he's like "... Maybe... Yes."

And I'm just getting the vibe- Not that Apollo and Hephaestus hate each other, but that there's like a tiniest bit of a rivalry going on here and I'm stuck in the middle of it NOT WANTING BUGS IN MY ROOM. GUYS PLS
