that's a great question.

they're pretty old OCs, but i wanted to kinda revamp their stories. working on some comics for them, but rn they're all a crew on a spaceship.

Diego and Lucy grew up together and co-own the ship.

Diego is the son of a politician, joined the army to avoid a life in politics. He got discharged after injuring his knee.

Lucy's moms are both scientists, so she grew up in labs and research facilities. After Diego left the army, she decided to leave the lab life behind and get out into space. They scraped together some money for a ship.

Kala got hired as a third crew member, as an extra engineer/technician. They were part of a rebel anti-government group, but their leader died. So now they're a fugitive and evading a warrant.

Ela woke up on a table in a laboratory with no memories and missing her left arm. The crew find her, and she joins them as the muscle for their crew.

The 2025 Gender Census is now open!

The 12th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 30th August 2025.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!
