I think it says a lot about how wonderful the spiderverse Tumblr community is that before atsv, I hardly ever used Tumblr and when I did it was just to look for more content in fandoms I was hyperfixated on and I only ever reblogged the occasional post I really liked. Everything I've seen on Tumblr for atsv though is a lot more insightful and thoughtful and just generally more positive compared to other social media fandoms for atsv so good job guys <3

Peni Parker Headcanons

There are multiple snacks in her robot, in different compartments; she insists they are for her but in reality, she keeps so much variety for her friends.

Her sleep schedule is basically nonexistent; she would hyperfocus on a project for whatever hours her energy drink can keep her awake and then pass out for days. She spends so much time indoors on labs she normally has no concept of time.

Noir was the first spider she found when she crashed on Earth 1610 in ITSV; they helped each other navigate Miles' New York since both of their universes are different time periods and they were confused as heck. They ended up becoming close for that reason.

Noir sees Peni as an adoptive daughter and Peni sees him as a father figure, but neither of them had admitted that to each other. Noir doesn't want to come across as crass by suggesting being her father when she lost her biological one. Peni doesn't want to make things uncomfortable by forcing that role on him.

Uses she/they pronouns.

She is also bi, this was her awakening

Super embarrassed about it though, so she is planning to keep that to herself to her grave.

She needs to be in her suit at all times in the Spider Society. Mostly because of the different halls that need the spider to be upside down or at awkward angles. However the first few days she refused to show her face because she continue to be flustered.

"Why all the spiders around my age are attractive!? Here I am being an awkward plain twig around runaway models." "Oh don't say that, you are cute sugarplum." "Noir you are making me sound like a little kid." "Come to think wasn't that guy Gwen brought with her an ex-runaway model-" "SEE!?" "Thanks for that B." (Since they have the same name, Noir calls Peter B well, B.)

Peni went to see Noir first after she got her watch, then shortly after went to see Ham with Noir. Noir and Ham aren't part of the organization (Noir said he didn't the way Miguel was running things once he heard about it, and Ham didn't vibe with the idea either;) She visits them regularly though.

She likes to give Noir cute colorful keychains when she visits; Noir actually has them corkboard on display.

Current events in her timeline had made her try to lean more on the Spidey side of things, dropping less and less frequently on her own universe. Noir has tried to mitigate this, but Peni interprets it as him not wanting to be around her.

She actually has her own room in Noir's universe. Is technically the guest room, but Noir has actually worked his best to make it homey for her and would rather give up his own bet that let people get in "her" room without her permission. Peni is unaware of that last bit.

She has a MASSIVE crush on Margo, it all started with her going to the help with the go-home machine and feeling the most comfortable with Margo since their time periods are similar enough.

Peni actually is very insecure about herself and her position as a spider person. Even if she was accepted into the Society, she feels kind of left out because everyone else has super strength, super healing, as well as other array of powers; while she only has her psychic link to the spider and the rest of her is a plain human.

That's another reason why Margo and her connected so well; she understands not feeling special enough considering her Spidey persona is an avatar, while she is a regular human too.

She is fairly close to Gwen too, while neither of them likes to be too vulnerable, they both understand what losing people and having complicated feelings about your home dimension. They may or may not talk about their crushes, hard to say because both of them deny it.

That's it for all, I didn't think I had that many but that's how it always starts.

I was minding my own business on twitter (the fall of the AO3 drives us to desperate measures) when I see this post:

And I was like:

Do you guys understand what that means?!

Miguel has maximum security under everyone who wears the watch and keeps them under surveillance 24/7 (bro needs a life and therapy).

And Gwen still gonna see Miles.

Gwen. Still. Gonna. See Miles.

That's why I get so livid when people hate her and ask why she didn't come see him sooner.

She couldn't. Literally. Gwen was under surveillance.

Gwen was begging Jess not to tell Miguel and he already knew. This girl's fear of being found out and sent home is very real and justified, that's because she still didn't seem to know that Miguel was watching her from the beginning.

She was already screwed by the time she arrived on Earth-1610 because Miguel knew she went to see Miles and broke his main protocol at the moment she could go to his dimension.

And despite all the fear she went. She saw Miles.

And she was going to possibly get kicked out anyway even if she got the spot and Miles didn't go after her.

So if I see one more Hater say why she didn't come see him sooner, I'll show it.

Gwen didn't go see him because she literally 👏🏽couldn't.👏🏽

Because I know that the moment her clock is programmed to Earth-1610, Miguel would block on time because it is obvious that Gwen is in his crosshairs all the time. And not only would she be sent to a house that her father had held a gun to her head, but then she would never be able to see Miles again because she would no longer have the technology.

If having an official mission from the Society, Miguel was already on her head, imagine what it was like in the preoccupation work of preventing her from flying straight to Miles? Miguel is not stupid.

Gwen would inevitably be kicked out of spider society. She loves Miles too much to stay away.

And Miguel knows this.

He knows that all Gwen needed to go to Miles was an alibi.

Not just a hesitation. The look on her face as he moves his hand towards hers is one of painful melancholy. She wants SO BAD to just tell him everything, not just about why she hasn’t come to see him but about how much she loves him. It’s like she has to gather her strength to keep from bursting.

But that damned sense of responsibility she’s had instilled in her since Peter’s death, and she’s still laboring under the delusion that Miguel is actually trying to help, so she holds off.

And like you said, his unfettered optimism is a beacon of hope for her. She feels lighter around him. She actually smiles around him. It’s insane how absolutely human they feel as characters, and it’s thanks to all the people involved from the VO talent to the writers to the animators. They all helped craft this absurdly good and emotionally affecting story.

What I found interesting about this scene (I already know it's been talked about ad infinitum) but after Gwen says "In every universe Gwen Stacy falls for Spiderman... and in every universe it doesn't work out"

She hesitates.

That's what's so interesting to me about this scene. She says it, then looks over at Miles and waits... for his response, because even though she's older than him, she knows she can trust him.

And when he hits her with "Well there's a first time for everything" she melts. He's always been a beacon of hope for her and it's so interesting to see their dynamic play out.

They parallel the whole movie and it's nothing but love and admiration. These two stole the movie and I've never rooted for a couple as much as these two kids.

Somebody help me lol.
